Full textIn March 2020 was the world hit by the Covid-19 pandemic, which for many people meant that they needed to change the way they work and where the work was carried out. In order to reduce the spread of infection in the society many organizations adapted the work mode and remote working was introduced as a new way of working. Working remotely has therefore been more or less mandatory in many workplaces. Working remotely for a longer period of time can be challenging and the new way of working can imply adjustments for the entire organization, which could also have an impact on how leadership is exercised. This study has focused on transformational leadership and the purpose of the study was to develop the knowledge about how transformational leadership can be exercised in order to lead during forced remote work. The study has used an abductive approach and a qualitative research strategy was chosen to capture the leaders’ experiences of the forced remote work that was a consequence of the pandemic. A thematic analysis was used to analyse the empirical data in order to find important the mesin the respondents’ statements, as well as finding similarities and differences between the respondents’ experiences linked to the purpose of this study. The theory section in this study is based on scientific articles that are focusing on the study’s keywords; pandemic, remote work and transformational leadership. The empirical material consists of semistructured interviews conducted with seven first-line managers in various industries. This study shows that the respondents, with some adaptations, still have the possibility to exercise transformational leadership during forced remote work. Based on the theory in this study, the adjustments that the respondents have made have been identified as transformational leadership behaviors. Which among other things have meant that the respondents have developed the communication in order to have on going follow-ups tosee how employees are doing. This clearly indicates that a leader with a transformational leadership style, when working remotely, can contribute with opportunities for employees to find a good balance between work and private life.

Full textSarbanes Oxley Act (SOA) är en amerikansk lag som även påverkar svenska företag. Lagen är tillämplig på samtliga amerikanska och icke-amerikanska företag som är noterade på någon amerikansk börs. SOA ställer bland annat krav på att bolagen har ett välutvecklat internkontrollsystem, vilket ska bidra till att den finansiella redovisningen blir mer korrekt. Genom SOA kommer företagens ekonomichef och VD att få personligt ansvar för företagens finansiella rapportering. De ska intyga att varje delårsrapport och årsrapport som lämnas är korrekt, skulle intygandet visa sig vara osant blir konsekvenserna böter och i värsta fall fängelse. De svenska företagen kommer i olika grad påverkas av ett amerikanskt arbetssätt vilket både kan ge positiva och negativa effekter. Syftet med uppsatsen är att utreda vilka effekter SOA får för tre Sydkraftbolag som nyligen har implementerat SOA.
Som undersökningsmetod har vi arbetat med fallstudier. Datainsamling har skett med hjälp av semistrukturerade djupintervjuer. Företagen vi har genomfört undersökningen på är Sydkraft AB, Sydkraft Nät AB och Sydkraft Försäljning AB. Sydkraftkoncernen ägs av ett tyskt energibolag, E.ON, och ett norskt elproducentbolag, Statkraft. Koncernen drabbas av SOA eftersom E.ON är introducerat på New York- börsen.
Eftersom SOA är en relativt ny företeelse har vi fått använda oss av två generella teorier, agentteorin och nyinstitutionell teori, som stöd i vårt analysarbete.
De olika företagen i Sydkraftkoncernen har i allmänhet varit positiva till implementeringen av SOA, då de kan ha nytta av SOA på flera olika sätt. Som exempel kan nämnas; ett beskrivningsverktyg för att hantera olika risker och kontroller i arbetet, harmonisera verksamheten och öka stringensen i bolagen. Negativa aspekter som dykt upp med SOA är att det krävs en allt för detaljrik nivå. Ytterligare en negativ aspekt är kostnaden för att implementera och hålla i gång systemet är hög. Dessutom kommer revisionskostnaden att stiga avsevärt. Trots alla dessa negativa aspekter ser bolagen mer positivt än negativt på SOA.
I vår undersökning har vi kommit fram till att kontrollen av agenten kommer att öka i form av ökad revision och därmed blir även agentkostnaderna större. Vi har dessutom kommit fram till att även om SOA är en tvingande förändring så har mottagandet varit överraskande positivt. Vidare har vi kommit fram till att förändringarna inte blir lika stora för de olika bolagen.

The winning organizations in this globalizations are the once which organizational structure are built in a way to handle the constant changes in the market and are capable to adapt to the ongoing changing needs and requirements.
From the problem formulation of the study, How has the work been carried out at swedish listed organizations in order to adopt to the EU requirements for the members to set up their accounting according to the international accounting principles?, the purpose is to from a organizational perspective and with Swedish empirical studies, try and contribute to increased insights in the subject of forced changes and generate theories focusing on Swedish organizations. A sub purpose is to discuss and reflect on the differences between forced and voluntary changes.
A qualitative method has been used, and representatives from eight different listed companies, active in different line of businesses have participated. The results show that the implementation process has been smoother than first expected. Furthermore, the research shows that companies do not make a distinction between forced or voluntary changes.
In addition to this we present a model that identifies areas that organizations ought to focus on in order to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of their change process and the reason we argue that organizations should set up the change process differently depending on the type of change they are facing.

Full textConducting compulsory land transfer is something that is not applied more often than land transfers that have an agreement between the parties. Despite this, it does happen that the parties do not agree, and that the surveyor will have to carry out the handling in a way that results in a compulsory land transfer. It is a complicated process that involves special paragraphs for this purpose only. In addition to the applicable chapter, the surveyor must also consider the protection of property, which originates in Sweden's constitution. Property protection is a condition that, despite its early origins, is becoming more relevant after the NJA 2018 p. 753. The aim of the research conducted by the authors is to contribute to the elucidation of clearer guidelines for how surveyors can proceed in their handling of compulsory land transfer. Based on the research question, proposals are presented for how and when the principle of proportionality can be tested. To answer the research question, the authors apply different qualitative research methods and then compare these with each other in the preparation of the result. A legal dogmatic method has been applied through an analysis of how paragraphs are used in practice. In addition, interviews with surveyors and lawyers have been conducted. Why two different occupational groups were interviewed is to discuss the subject from the perspective of different occupational groups. The implementation is based on a semi-structured approach and took place through Skype and telephone communication. The respondents' responses and the legal dogmatic analysis show that surveyors and courts are on the same track for the conditions to be tested in the application of compulsory land transfer. However, the result shows an ambiguity regarding when the property protection is to be tested and important definitions for the test in the strict sense. The conclusions of the research show that NJA 1996 p.110 stated that the protection of property was fulfilled by examining Chapter 5. The Property Formation Act (SFS 1970:988). More judgments and guidelines are needed to establish an official review system in mandatory land transfer. What can be done within a relatively short span of time is to develop an existing handbook and to define the definition of what an important interest means in a real estate development context.

Full textFöretagens ansvarstagande i samhället är ett uttryck som behandlar företagens samhällsengagemang inom det ekonomiska, miljömässiga och sociala områdena. På senare år har företagen blivit mer medvetna om vikten av att engagera sig inom samhällets alla områden för att vinna konkurrensfördelar. Detta samhällsengagemang kan de välja att redovisa i en så kallad hållbarhetsredovisning. Vid utformningen av denna kan företagen välja att följa Global Reporting Initiative´s riktlinjer, vilket bland annat innebär redovisning av indikatorer som behandlar olika samhällsfrågor. Uppsatsens syfte är att undersöka på vilket sätt de svenska företag som utger sig för att använda GRI implementerar GRI´s indikatorer i sina hållbarhetsredovisningar. Vidare är syftet att undersöka om syftet med GRI gällande jämförbarhet uppfylls och dessutom att se om något av områdena prioriteras i redovisningarna. Resultatet av undersökningen visar att företagens olika redovisningar skiljer sig mycket åt vad gäller antalet redovisade indikatorer men även att inget av de tre områdena är särskilt prioriterat i företagens redovisningar totalt sett. Företagens frihet i val av vilka indikatorer som redovisas innebär att jämförbarheten av hållbarhetsredovisningarna sjunker vilket kan leda till sämre trovärdighet. Resultatet visar också att redovisningens betyg inte alltid ger en bra bild av företagens totala ansvarstagande i samhället då de själva väljer hur mycket som de vill redovisa om inom varje område.

Full textThere is a great deal of interest in how the management of the Swedish public sector works and how it affects its employees. The Swedish public sector is considered well-functioning in the world and, as public sector, it has many challenges in the design of management system. Försäkringskassan is a Swedish authority that a large part of Sweden’s populations comes into contact with. This study aims to show how the management control can work on a local level. We have conducted a case study on Försäkringskassan in Luleå based on enabling and coercive control. We find that Försäkringskassan has elements of both enabling and coercive control. Case workers are guided by quantitative measures, but they are also given the opportunity to influence how the control system is designed as well as to gain insight into how the control system is designed and why. The case workers also feel to some extent that the focus is in the quantitative measurements and that they are largely expected to do a certain number of cases per day.

Full textBackground: Banks are examples of organizations where a law requires a communication process with several stakeholders. In order to be compliant with the Anti-Money Laundering Act the banks have asked their customers questions about their economic activities. The customers have in turn become upset and lack understanding of the questions. Through the experiences of bank personnel we study communication from upper instance, from within the organization and from the organization to its customers. Previous research have shown the significance of sensemaking communication in organizations to create a shared understanding between a sender and receiver. However, we identify a knowledge gap in how the communication process of a law, that involves several stakeholders, can be made in a sensemaking way. Purpose: The purpose of the study is to create a model of communication that identifies key factors for sensemaking communication of a non-dispositive law in an organization. Method: We conduct a qualitative case study of a swedish savings bank and their communication of the Anti-Money Laundering Act. The empirical data consists of interviews with and observations of bank personnel as well as document studies. Conclusion: For a sensemaking communication process of a non-dispositive law, all stakeholders need to factor in the value of the law for the end receiver when designing their communication process. We also see that the possibilities of sensemaking communication is dependent on all stakeholders, which constitutes an aggravating factor.

Full textAbstract Background: Derived from financial scandals the independence of the auditor has publicly been questioned and as a result the EU Commission regulated mandatory audit-firm rotation for public companies. Thus, the audit firm and client relationship has been limited. Hence, discussions within the accountancy profession as well as within the literature surrounding the possible effects the change in regulation might have on audit quality. Not only statements surrounding the auditors’ independence of mind and independence in appearance occur in these discussions but also the competence of the auditor as a dependent factor to audit quality. The paper will hereby consider quality aspects in fact as well as in appearance related to mandatory audit-firm rotation and its impact on audit quality. Purpose: The purpose of the paper is to complement existing discussions within the scientific area concerning the effects mandatory audit-firm rotation have on audit quality. The purpose is met while a study on firm-level is conducted combining aspects in fact with aspects in appearance related to a limitation in the length of the firm-client relationship. Method: A multiple logistic regression will be used to analyze data from annual reports and audit opinions against audit quality in fact. A survey has been designed, which intends to study external third parties’ perception of audit quality in appearance. The literature chapter will form the basis for definitions as well as analyzes. Conclusions: Through an analysis of the papers result for both audit quality in fact and audit quality in appearance, a comprehensive conclusion of total audit quality can be made. In regard to audit quality in fact, our result show no significant effect between the length of the firm-client relationship and audit quality. Hence, neither the auditor’s independence nor competence are assumed to be substantially affected by the change in regulation. However, an indirect impact on the auditor’s independence in fact is discussed, which is why audit quality in fact might still be considered to be positively affected. Third parties perceive that the change in regulation positively affects audit quality in appearance despite the fact that the auditor is seemed to sacrifice competence in favour of improved independence in appearance. Thus, the total audit quality is expected to be improved by the mandatory audit-firm rotation.

Full textBackground and problems: Changes are constantly taking place in organizations for various reasons and as a consequence of covid-19, teleworking has recently increased rapidly, as many workplaces were forced to switch to this to limit the spread of infection. New directives came quickly and the conditions could change from day to day. The work at a distance resulted in increased digitization and the leadership on site had in many cases had to be managed remotely and from one's own home via a mobile phone or computer. Several factors affect leaders' communication and relationships with their employees, and in the present study, the focus will be on how teleworking as a change has affected employees and workgroups from a leadership perspective. We have conducted a qualitative study that examined the new conditions and how they affected communication and relationships. For the study, we conducted nine semi-structured interviews with leaders in the culture and leisure unit in different municipalities who before covid-19 did not work that much at a distance. Our study is about how leaders experienced this time and if they saw any impact on relationships and communication with employees, they have had to adapt to new ways of working and found new structures. Purpose and method:The purpose of the study has been to increase the understanding of the perceived change and the perceived opportunities and difficulties that have come with keeping relationships and communication digital. LMX is the theory that describes the importance of the relationship between leader and employee. The theory is used to provide a theoretical basis for the material that the study presents. As the purpose of the study is to provide an in-depth description of the selected problem area, the study is based on a qualitative method. The study is based on nine semi-structured interviews with leaders who work in municipal activities who give their perceived thoughts on the subject. The interviews were conducted in the form of video interviews with all respondents concerning the recommendations on social distancing. Results and conclusion: The results of the study show, based on the empirical material and theory, that relationships that previously worked well to a large extent continue to work well even at a distance leadership. Communication has been able to be developed with digital help and there have been substitutes for physical meetings via digital platforms. The most important conclusion of the study is that a lot of time may be spent on the relationships with employees that have not worked fully, the relationships that are demanding from the start will not be less demanding in a compelling change.

Full textDenna studie handlar om tillit i förhållande till verksamhetsstyrning i en decentraliserad bank,och huruvida den präglas av en möjliggörande eller tvingande formalisering. Syftet med studienär att förstå hur tillit bland medarbetare i en decentraliserad bank påverkas utifrån dessverksamhetsstyrning, med grund i begreppsparet Möjliggörande och Tvingande inomfallstudieföretaget. Därav kommer denna studie att handla om verksamhetsstyrning, i ett företagsom historiskt sett och än idag präglas av regler, lagverk och lagstiftning som reglerar dessverksamhet. Tidigare forskning har genomförts om hur organisationer använder och tillämparmöjliggörande och tvingande styrmedel som ledningskontrollsystem. Därför ville vi studera hurtillämpandet av möjliggörande och tvingande formalisering i en decentraliserad bank speglas itilliten inom verksamheten. Studien är av kvalitativ prägel med en huvudsaklig utgångspunkt i deduktivt ansats. Empirinsamlades in genom sju semistrukturerade intervjuer i Handelsbanken. Intervjuerna ligger tillgrund för slutsatsen i generella drag. Intervjuerna spelades in och transkriberades, som utgjordegrunden för den tematiska analysen. Den främsta slutsatsen som uppkom ur studien är att det finns en samexistens av bådemöjliggörande och tvingande formalisering i en decentraliserad storbank. Både aspekter somkaraktäriseras av en tvingande miljö, och aspekter som karakteriseras av en möjliggörandemiljö, påverkar tilliten i organisationen på olika sätt. Skapandet av relationer, samt skapandetav kontroller, som är två kontraster till varandra, ökar tilliten till personalen i en decentraliseradstorbank.

Full textSince December 2019, a new virus has spread around the world, the disease caused by the virus has been named Covid-19 and the effects of the virus have been dramatic for organizations and employees around the world. Due to the new virus, a lot of organizations have been forced to change to try to prevent further spread, which has led to compulsory teleworking. We have therefore chosen to conduct a qualitative study in a company where employees are forced to work at home since the spring of 2020. In the study, we examined how the employees' work-life balance is experienced in the mandatory telework, which has arisen due to Covid-19. So far, it is unclear whether teleworking facilitates or rather complicates the combination of work and home. Teleworking can contribute to positive effects such as flexibility and self-control, but they can also lead to negative aspects such as stress and imbalance in life. Together with the information from the empirical data that comes from semi-structured interviews in which six people participated and previous research, we have analyzed and reviewed how the forced telework affects this organization's work-life balance. The results of our study shows that employees work longer working days, the boundary between work and private life has been blurred and social contact with colleagues has decreased since they started working from home. Our conclusion from the study is that employees experience a poorer balance between private life and working life when they work remotely.

Full textOrganisationer förändras ständigt och måste anpassa sig till sin omgivning. Orsakerna till förändringar beror delvis på organisationernas egna frivilliga beslut men även externa påtryckningar, till exempel på grund av lagar och direktiv. Hur anställda uppfattar och reagerar på förändringar påverkar hur effektivt förändringarna implementeras. Därför är det nödvändigt för företaget att göra vad de kan för att anställda ska acceptera förändringen.
Denna studie undersöker hur anställda reagerar vid organisationsförändringar. Syftet är att redogöra för hur och varför anställda reagerar i olika typer av organisationsförändringar. Genom att studera detta kan företag som ska genomföra en förändring fokusera på de viktigaste aspekterna i förändringsarbetet.
Genom en komparativ studie på ett fallföretag undersöks två olika organisationsförändringar. Orsakerna till förändringarna skiljer sig åt då den ena tvingades fram till följd av en lagförändring medan den andra var självvald. Utifrån vald teori kategoriseras förändringarna in enligt begreppen evolutionär och revolutionär. Därefter analyseras anställdas reaktioner i de båda förändringarna.
Resultaten visar att anställda reagerar mer negativt i en revolutionär förändring. I båda fallen spelar kommunikationen inom organisationen en central roll, inte minst för att förbereda och utbilda de anställda. Dessutom framkommer det tendenser till att när en organisation tvingas till förändring minskar möjligheten att påverka anställdas reaktioner.

Full textThe purpose of this essay is to examine lesbian women’s experience of being open with their sexual orientation in sport, through interviews with lesbian women. The aim is to investigate what it is that influence lesbian women to be out and if sports are a particular accepting environment for lesbians. Five open lesbian women, who either play or has played football or floorball, have been interviewed. References that have been used are previous studies about homosexual women and lesbian existence, both within and outside sports. The theoretical analysis tools have been Erving Goffmans’ reasoning about stigma and how stigmatised individuals handle their situation. But also Adrienne Rich, Monique Wittig and Judith Butlers’ ideas revolving compulsory heterosexuality, and the heteronormativity concept that emerged from this. The informants are aware of the existence of prejudices about lesbians. They have never experienced any personal attacks but they all have examples of general insults that might occur. Despite this they experience security and comfort within sports when there are other lesbians present. Within team sports people are generally used to lesbian women and it causes no grand excitement around the women’s sexual orientation.

Full textToday it is mandatory for every college or university student to pay a union fee to their student’s union. The fee is mandatory and is a payment for writing examinations, receiving grades. The fees purpose is also intended to secure the education quality and student influence. In the presence of the abolishment of the union fee the Swedish student’s unions stand before an uprising competition between themselves and most likely a decrease in membership. This situation occurs because the unions go from a forcing membership to a voluntary one. The members will in the future decide for them selves if they want to join a union and take part of what they are offering or not.
For this assignment we have been given by Umeå Student union to investigate the member’s perception and attitude towards the union, this due to the situation the abolishment of the union fee will create. The Umeå Student union is worried how they best would make use of their marketing resources in order to keep a sufficient members number.
The central question for this study is: How will Umeå Student union in the situation of an abolishment of the union fee market them selves in order to secure the unions business at Umeå University?
The purpose of this study is to create a foundation to a marketing plan which is sustainable for Umeå Student union when the union fee is abolished. We will in order to create this foundation study which factors that are crucial for the students at Umeå University when deciding if to join the union or not. We will also evaluate the promotion marketing Umeå Student union uses today and give recommendations how they could use these more efficient.
In the work of collecting empirical data we have interviews Umeå Student union elected representatives and members in the underlying sections. The interviews are teamed under the headings; communication, promotion, strength/weaknesses/competition and thoughts around the union fee. The union board have also given us seven words of value that they want the students to connect with Umeå Studet union. These words are the foundation we base our suggestions for the marketing plan. The interviews gave us an insight in the factors the student thought of most important in joining Umeå Student union. Some examples of these factors are; to clearly show what the student union has accomplished during their mandate period, increase the integration between the members and the union as well as making the promotion more students friendly. Therefore the core of the marketing plan is support-activities which are intended to increase the interest of new and old members as well as putting Umeå Student union’s core business in focus.

Full textSyftet med uppsatsen är att utreda huruvida den svenska lagstiftningen som begränsar den fria rörligheten på spelmarknaden är förenlig med EG rätt samt om det kan misstänkas finnas andra bakomliggande motiv för undantagen än de som åberopats. Uppsatsen syftar till att reda ut om den nuvarande lagstiftningen är förenlig med EG-rätten eller om den behöver justeras. Senare tids utveckling på marknaden och rättspraxis kan tala för att en ändring i lagstiftningen är behövd.
Uppsatsen visar på flera faktorer som pekar på att den svenska lagstiftningen och dess motiv inte är förenlig med EG-rätten. Den stora ekonomiska hänsynen kan verka avgörande och får inte vara ett huvudskäl till en inskränkning enligt praxis. Vidare pekar de faktiska omständigheterna på spelmarknaden i Sverige för att de begränsningar som gjorts inte längre är lämpliga för att uppnå det ursprungliga syftet med inskränkningarna. Bland annat bedrivs en hård marknadsföring och introduktion av nya spelformer av Svenska Spel som rimligtvis uppmuntrar till mer spel, när motivet till en begränsning i den fria rörligheten var att begränsa spelandet. Även en statlig utredning från 2006 talar för att lagstiftningen inte är förenlig med EG-rätten och att en ändring behövs göras, exempelvis föreslås ett Licenssystem som både kan skydda spelarnas intressen men samtidigt öppna upp för fler aktörer på marknaden.

Full textBackground: Forced CEO turnovers have become an increasingly discussed topic in recent years. It is discussed that the CEO carousel is spinning at a faster pace than before and that the CEO turnover rate has increased in recent years. But what causes a forced CEO turnover, what reasons are behind these and are these forced CEO turnovers affecting the overall turnover rate of Swedish CEOs? Purpose: To explain if and why forced CEO turnovers take place and as well study the effect that forced CEO turnovers has on the overall turnover rate of CEOs. Method: This paper assumes a deductible research approach and has its theoretical foundation in the agency theory to explain the control situation that arises from owners and board of directors when the CEO does not perform against expectation or if a conflict arises with the board. Hypotheses have been designed and tested in a quantitative study with data for 2000, 2005, 2010 and 2015. Conclusions: The results of this study cannot predict what reasons affecting forced CEO turnover in Sweden. However, the study can show that forced CEO turnovers represent a higher part of the overall turnover rate of CEOs than they did before. This means that forced CEO turnovers have increased but that there is no explanation as to why.

Full textChanges in organizations can take place both externally and internally, quickly or in the long term. When the pandemic with COVID-19 struck in the spring of 2020, many organizations were forced to quickly change their working methods by letting their employees work remotely to reduce the spread of infection. When there is no time to prepare employees for a change, it can have negative consequences on the organizational culture. It is therefore of great importance that the organizations work on change and the new communication, both to create their own understanding of how the culture is to be maintained at a distance and how it is received by the employees. Research shows that a good organizational culture, with all its involved parts, increases the employee's well-being and motivation, which in turn leads to a successful organization. With the aim, to investigate how mandatory telework can affect the culture of organizations and whether it is possible to distinguish some specific success factors for a positive work climate, a qualitative study was created where 87 people answered a digital questionnaire with open-ended questions. This method captured the respondents´perceptions and experiences regarding their perceived situation during compulsory teleworking. The empiric was then interpreted and analyzed on the basis of a theoretical frame of reference as well as previous research in the field where organizational culture, organizational change and communication are touched upon. Through this, we were able to respond to the purpose and state that compelling telework has a great impact on culture, based on the assumption that organizational culture is changed by external/internal events, organizational changes and the way we communicate. We have also identified success factors for a positive work climate, which are to give employees the freedom to plan their time and work themselves and to provide a range of communication channels.

Full textThe following study deals with the integration of new arrivals in Sweden. A societal problem is depicted which theories conclude is the result of an organizational problem among the partners in the establishment reform. The purpose of this essay is to study how the collaborating authorities and municipalities work together to influence the integration and establishment of new arrivals and also whether the use of more forceful means of actions would prove to contribute to an effective integration of newcomers. Two designated municipalities and all administrative authorities, with the exception of the Swedish Migration Agency, were interviewed to answer the essay questions. The results point towards a good cooperation between the parties; however, a lack of clarity of the partners' responsibilities and duties has been found. With previous experiences as a basis it can be argued that there is a high probability that the usage of more forceful means of actions could be an effective means of integrating newcomers by preventing large proportions from moving to segregated areas, where poor conditions for integration is prevalent. The study is written in Swedish.

Full textAim: The aim of this study is to on the basis of employees’ perspective create an understanding how the leader's control and trust affect the employee. Method: The study is designed based on a qualitative approach where we have applied a semi- structured interview method. We conducted interviews with 10 individuals who are active in the real estate broker. When analyzing the material we have used a thematic analysis. Result & Conclusions: The study shows that there exists a connection between the leader's control and trust in the employee. What also emerged from the study is that there are different forms of control which accordingly to the employees' perception have different impacts on the leader's trust in them. Our conclusion is that coercive control have a negative impact on trust, while remunerative and normative control has a positive impact on trust in the employee. Suggestions for future research: Because this study has been a profound qualitative research, we believe it would be interesting to conduct a similar study as a quantitative method. We find it is also notable to perform the same study, but with significantly more respondents, which had increased the credibility of the conclusions. Further study would be more thorough and precise if the two approaches would be explored individually. In order to create a greater understanding within our chosen field of research, it would be more extensive to study the same subject but from the manager's perspective. Contribution of the thesis: The study contributes to the business economic research by the knowledge that we gained in the field of leadership and organization. This research, we consider to be useful for the specific sales profession of real estate brokers. We believe this because the study's results can give an insight of what is worth striving for whithin the field of leadership, to counteract the bad effect of control. We have clarified from theory and analysis to coersive, remenuretive and normative control has different effects on the leader's trust in the employee. Therefore, the study has also contributed and made it clear how the various forms of control affects trust.

Full textAim: The purpose of the study is to investigate whether the level of review of sustainability reports has changed due to mandatory regulation, namely the reform of the Swedish årsredovisningslagen 2016. The study also seeks answers to whether industry affiliation, size and leverage can explain the level of review of sustainability reports. Method: We apply a positivistic research philosophy with a deductive approach. To answer the purpose of the study, a quantitative method with a longitudinal design has been applied. We have conducted a content analysis of 1730 Swedish companies' annual reports and sustainability reports for the years 2016 and 2017. Based on previous research and theories, hypotheses have been formed and tested using a logistic regression analysis. Results & conclusion: The result of the study shows that in the case of mandatory regulation of sustainability reporting, the companies tend to comply with the law. We can also show that the level of review on the sustainability reports has changed after the introduction of the mandatory regulation. The proportion of sustainability reports that have undergone an extended review has decreased after the introduction of the mandatory regulation. Our results also show that there is no significant connection with the level of scrutiny. Contribution of the thesis: The study can contribute both theoretically and practically. The theoretical contribution can be attributed to the regulatory compliance, that the Swedish companies covered by the regulation follow the regulation, and thus show a high regulatory compliance with the regulation on sustainability reporting. The practical contribution is that the management who is responsible for the review of the sustainability report can make use of our study in the decision-making on which level of examination is to be used. Suggestions for future research: Since our study only measured the outcome of the regulation before and immediately after the introduction of the regulation, there is a need to see if the time will affect an increase among the companies to follow the regulation. Further research could also use other independent factors to try to explain the company's choice of audit level to the sustainability reports.

By using interviews as a method, we will find out how such a situation is experienced by compiling teachers and students opinions.The interviewers have stated that the contact between the teacher and the students is an important part of teaching that can be affected in different ways. Among other things, this can lead to a decrease in motivation and commitment. Examinations and a lot of stress in the daily work can lead to not having the time to adapt the normal teaching to the digital, which can lead to students not understanding.This does not mean that it is not possible to have a digital education at Malmö University, but only that you need time to prepare and adapt the education to the systems and platforms that exist. Full textCompulsory treatment is regulated by the Care of Alcoholics and Drug Abusers Act (LVM; 1988:870), and aims, among other things, at motivating addicts to treatment. Research has, up til now, mostly disregarded the client-perspective on compulsory measures. This dissertation has its starting point in the experiences of 54 alcohol- and drug addicts. The intention is to describe and analyse their view on coercive care and the possibilities to become motivated for change and/or voluntary treatment in such a context.
A central question during the interviews (which took place at five different institutions for compulsory commitments) is the addicts´ problem recognition, desire for help and willingness to participate in treatment. These dimensions are also illuminated quantitatively by use of a questionnaire. The results of this questionnaire form the basis of a division of the addicts into three groups with varying de-gree of treatment motivation. Comparisons between the groups are done with reference to the evaluation of present treatment context and of the institutions’ efforts to enhance motivation. In addition to this the groups are compared regarding how they perceive limita-tions in their freedom of action.
The results showed that the three groups had different motiva-tional structures. The “least motivated” stated that the addiction was not their major problem and wanted no help with that aspect of their lives. The “middle-group” claimed to have alcohol-/drug problems that, however, were not too serious. They were not sure that the coercive care was adequate for their situation. The “most motivated” said that they had vast problems with their addiction, were help-seeking and satisfied with having the chance to participate in any kind of treatment program at all. Less differences between the groups were noticeable when it came to a direct evaluation of com-pulsory treatment. The majority reported that they, through the co-ercion, had been exposed to violations of their autonomy. Whether motivated for treatment or not, the interviewees were also sceptical about the possibilities of the institutions to enhance motivation among the incarcerated addicts.
In the dissertation, addiction and motivation is furthermore dis-cussed from the perspective of rational choice and motivational the-ory. It is concluded that committed addicts think and act strategically in order to maximise their personal use of involuntary incarcerations. It is also asserted that their view on what happens during commit-ment, in some respects, is opposed to the “establishment’s”. For instance, the addicts claim that you don’t become motivated by way of compulsory treatment, while the opposite of their notion form the basis of the legislation.

Full textThe Swedish Armed Forces have completed an HR transformation in accordance with a model that has spread worldwide as well as in Sweden. There are similarities regarding how organizations have handled these changes which also raise questions on organizational decision-making. The purpose of this study is to gain an understanding of the decision-making process leading up to project HR transformation of the Swedish Armed Forces. This has been accomplished by researching factors that have affected the process and thereby the final choice of alternative. This study is a document- and interview-based qualitative study where data from both published and unpublished documents combined with data collected from interviews with respondents affiliated with the project, have been analyzed. Our conclusions are that the decision-making process has been affected by factors and actions in accordance with institutional theory, which is a conforming due to external comparison and the use of external consultants.

Full textSweden is dependent upon start-ups and entrepreneurs in order to successfully finance domestic prosperity. Venture capital (VC) companies often play a significant role for new companies when the business is to be developed or expanded. The VC companies support the new companies with a wide range of key features. Such as financing, operational work, strategy or contact networks. Previous studies show that VC-financed companies both grow faster and succeed more often than non VC-backed companies. At the same time, research shows that VC-companies are characterized by great risk-taking and audaciousness in their investments. However, there is less in-depth research on what explicit factors and circumstances result in the successful and unsuccessful investments. The purpose of the study is to create a better understanding of similarities and differences in different investment outcomes and highlight the patterns of their investments. Institutional theory, cognitive bias and modern portfolio theory are the theories used in this study. The survey was conducted through eight semi-structured qualitative interviews with different decision makers from VC-companies in Sweden. In order to gain a deeper understanding of their investment outcomes all company names were re-coded. The obtained results showed that cognitive biases was the primary theory of explanation. However, the institutional theory could also explain the different investment outcomes. The VC-companies were characterized by strong audaciousness with their failed investments and medium audaciousness with the successful. The requirement of success in the VC-industry explains why the companies have tendencies to be audacious in their decision making. A strong confidence is needed when investing in start-up companies since these companies imply a great risk. External societal pressure and internal guidelines strongly influence the investments of the VC. The study identified several industry patterns for both successful and unsuccessful investments. The patterns include syndication of capital and demand for serial entrepreneurs. The study also showed a pattern of venture capitalists explaining their unsuccessful investment due to issues with the entrepreneur or the market. The results suggest that one of the greatest difficulties for VC-companies is to assess the ability of the entrepreneur to develop the company.
