Abstract:
A fossil of Oniscidea, Tylidae gen. et sp. indet. from Kachin amber (Cretaceous Cenomanian), Myanmar, is described here. The convex body, the cephalon with a triangular protrusion between the antennae, and pereonites 2–6 with epimera demarcated from tergites indicate that this specimen belongs to the family Tylidae, but since it is not an adult the identification of the genus and species is uncertain. This specimen has a convex body and shows an ability to conglobate, like all Tylidae. It is the first specimen of Oniscidea with a conglobation ability found in Burmese amber. Up to now, the foss

Abstract:
The Tylidae Milne-Edwards, 1840 is the sole family in the infra-order Tylomorpha Vandel, 1943 (Holdich et al. 1983) and is divided into two genera, Tylos Latreille, 1826, and Helleria Ebner, 1868 (Vandel 1960). Specimens collected from Bawley Point, N.S.W. belong to the genus Tylos. They are described as a new species, Tylos australis. The significance of the shapes of frontal processes in Tylos is discussed in terms of zoogeography.

Twenty-seven species of terrestrial Isopoda are recorded from Socotra Island (Yemen). One genus (<em>Dumetoniscus</em>) in the family Bathytropidae and three species (<em>Serendibia cavernicola</em>, <em>Dumetoniscus graniticus</em> and <em>Platyarthrus alticolus</em>) are described as new. A key to the 41 species of Oniscidea presently known from the Socotra Archipelago is given. The new records confirm the high number of endemics present on this archipelago.
