Full textWe adress the issue of confidentiality and declassification in a language-based security approach. We study in particular the use of refined type and effect systems for staticallsy enforcing flexibale information flow policies over imperative higher – order languages with concurrrency. A general methodology for defining and proving the soundness of the type and effect system with respect to such properties is presented. We consider two main topics :- the long standing issue of finding a flexible information control mechanism that enables declassification. Our declassification mechanism takes the form of a local flow policy declaration that implements a local information flow policy- the largely unexplored topic of controlling information flow in a global computing setting, our network model, which naturally generalizeq the local setting, includes a notion of a domain and a standard migration primitive for code and resources. New forms of security leaks that are introduced by code mobility are revealed. In both the above settings, to take into account dynamic flow policies we introduce generalizatios of non-interference respectively named the « non disclosure « and » non disclosure for networks » for policies. Their implementation is supported by a concrete presentation of the security lattice where confidentiality levels are sets of principals , similar to acces control lists

Full textWe are more and more dependent on our computing infrastructure, and yet its security is challenged every day. From a research viewpoint, a lot of progress in security has been made, using in particular formal methods and programming language techniques. This has lead us to a first few small, exemplary verified systems and protocols. In spite of these results, it is still hard to gain strong confidence that a program is correct and secure, and most of the software that we depend upon offers very few guarantees. In this thesis, we focus on language-based security by construction. We take as input the specification of a distributed computation involving multiple participants, together with its expected security properties. We then verify that this specification is sound, using static verification techniques such as type systems, and we then automatically generate a program for each participant. During this compilation process, we select adequate cryptographic and hardware mechanisms, such that the compiled programs correctly implement the computation with the required security properties

Full textThis thesis concerns the information system divisions (ISD) contribution to strategic alignment, ie the integration of information technology (IT) in company strategies. It is based on the it strategic nature and on the isd crisis situation, explaining the unsatisfactory contribution to the company objectives, and leading to the central question of this survey : how to improve the ISD contribution to strategic alignment ?. In response, it reposes on the strategic alignment model of venkatraman and henderson, analyzes its weaknesses, its lacks of effectiveness and absence of players and then uses it as a springboard for a field study of 15 great french companies. Two conclusions result : - an evaluation of the ISD contribution position based on five audit variables which allow the identification of unsatisfactory isd contribution positions, described as non aligned ; or on the way to alignment. A tool for monitoring strategic alignment, which answers to three questions : who contributes ?, how to improve the isd contribution ? Which ISD types for a better contribution ?. This monitoring tool includes players who contribute to strategic alignment, executive management ? Operations management, ISD, which tends to displace the traditional responsability of it towards a collective party. It identifies five alignment variables which explain how to improve the isd contribution. It presents an aligned ISD ; typology, resulting from the articulation of players strategies and alignment variables : ISD as service provider ; strategic ; ISD, and ISD as directions executioner. Finally, this thesis proposes as a possible extension, the path to organizational alignment, another road to alignment which stands from core business of operations management
