Abstract:
A thermophilic fungal strain producing polygalacturonase was isolated after primary screening of 40 different isolates. The fungus was identified as Rhizomucor pusilis by Microbial Type Culture Collection (MTCC), Chandigarh, India. An extracellular polygalacturonase (PGase) from R. pusilis was purified to homogeneity by two chromatographic steps using Sephadex G-200 and Sephacryl S-100. The purified enzyme was a monomer with a molecular weight of 32 kDa. The PGase was optimally active at 55°C and at pH 5.0. It was stable up to 50°C for 120 min of incubation and pH condition between 4.0 and 5.0. The stability of PGase decreases rapidly above 60°C and above pH 5.0. The apparent Km and Vmax values were 0.22 mg/mL and 4.34 U/mL, respectively. It was the first time that a polygalacturonase enzyme was purified in this species. It would be worthwhile to exploit this strain for polygalacturonase production. Polygalacturonase from this strain can be recommended for the commercial production because of its constitutive and less catabolically repressive nature, thermostability, wide range of pH, and lower Km properties. However, scale-up studies are needed for the better output for commercial production.

Abstract Abstract 4464 Philadelphia positive malignant disorders are a clinically divergent group of hemoblastoses with a unique identifying feature, the BCR/ABL1 fusion gene, usually resulting from the chromosome rearrangement t(9;22)(q34;q11) or its variants, that leads to constitutive expression of an aberrant tyrosine kinase. These include chronic myeloid leukaemia (CML) and de novo acute leukaemia of both myeloid Ph(+)AML and lymphoid origin Ph(+)ALL. The latter two disorders are clinically aggressive and therapy challenging even in the era of the powerful tyrosine kinase inhibitors. CML is a multistage progressive disease, which if untreated, inevitably ends as fatal acute leukaemia, either myeloid or lymphoid. The latter is often thought to be indistinguishable from Ph(+)ALL, the most common type of ALL in adults. We have identified DNA sequences the imbalances of which appear to be significantly associated with the disease stage and lineage origin in CML and Ph(+)ALL samples. We used array CGH at a resolution of ~2kb to explore hot spot regions obtained from 102 patient samples comprising 92 CML and controls together with 10 Ph(+)ALL and show how Significance Analysis of Microarrays (1) can be used to identify differences in the genome profile of de novo Ph(+)ALL and lymphoid blast transformation of CML. We show that lymphoid blast crisis CML differs significantly from Ph(+)ALL not only due to the presence of 9p deletions but also due to genomic gains in other chromosomes. Furthermore we identify a sub group of Ph(+)ALL with a distinctive genomic profile. Having identified genome regions of potential interest, ranked in order of significance, out of the 100's of thousands of array results, it is then a challenge to design further experiments to evaluate their contribution to the biology of the BCR/ABL positive disease. 1 Tusher V, Tibshirani R, Chu G: Significance analysis of microarrays applied to the ionizing radiation response. SummaryThe goal of this article is to critically evaluate, what role the impeachment plays in the U. S. Constitutional system and how it contributes to ensuring accountability of elected officials in the USA. To this end, the author will provide a short overview of the development of the institution of impeachment, discuss the current regulation of impeachment in the U. S. Constitution and the application of impeachment in practice, assessing its efficiency and role in the constitutional system. Finally, the conclusions will be reflected upon from the viewpoint of the Czech Constitutional system and its model of constitutional accountability.

L'apparition de l'arme atomique a conduit à une réévaluation des stratégies, à l'est comme à l'ouest. En raison des contraintes historiques, politique et idéologiques propres au système soviétique, il a fallu quelque 20 ans pour que le processus de réévaluation, après de nombreux débats, aboutisse. D'abord enjeu politique dans la lutte pour le pouvoir, le nucléaire devient progressivement un élément de réflexion pour les militaires. Malgré l'énoncé, en 1962, d'une doctrine stratégique officielle, les débats se poursuivent que conduisent progressivement la réflexion stratégique à entrer dans la logique du nucléaire. L'étude de ces débats a permis de constater, d'une part, que les soviétiques semblent avoir toujours envisage de limiter l'affrontement majeur entre les deux systèmes au seul continent européen; d'autre part, que le thème de la dissuasion, tout en ayant été systématiquement condamné officiellement, réapparait régulièrement à l'occasion des grands débats stratégiques au cours de cette période
The appearance of atomic weapons led to the reappraisial of military strategies, in east and west. Because of historical, political and ideological constraints, characteristic of the soviet system, over 20 years and many debates were necessary before this reappraisial went to an end. The nuclear factor was first used as a political stake in the race for power; only then, it became an element of the soviet military thought. In 1962, the first official strategic doctrine has been published in open litterature. In spite of this, the debates on strategic matters did non stop and, only in the middle of the 1960's, soviet military thought can be considered as having entered the real logics of the nuclear era. By studying all those debates, it became obvious first that the soviets sem to have always considered that the future conflict between the two opposite systems will be geographicaly limited to the european theater; second, that the theme of deterrence, even if it has always been officially condemned, appeared to be a constant subject of discussion all over the debates on strategy

L'aspect sante recouvre tous les domaines entrant directement en contact avec les maladies qui exercent une influence sur la sante. Le chapitre montre la perception particuliere de certaines maladies (courantes en occident) et l'impact qu'elles peuvent avoir en russie. Les services particuliers ou specialites sont abordees dans ce cadre ainsi que la psychiatrie ou le sida. Health in the ussr and in russia deals with different problems which regard to this matter, closer or at a larger scale, the health of the inhabitants of these countries. The period of time goes by the october revolution, with few historical calling to mind, to the summer 1996. Fields tackled are such as organisation problems, russian and soviet systems, difficulties due to the transition of the department of health insurance financing methods. The case of the structure of the military health system in peacetime and wartime is dealt with in the organisation part. The aspect of health covers all the fields dealing directly with diseases influencing the health. The chapter shows the particular perception of some diseases (usually found in western countries) and the effect they can have in russia. The particular institutions and specialized services are tackled in this scope, so as psychiatry and aids. The influence of ecological factors (nuclear and other) and the special aspect of nuclear, biological and chemical war are inspected in the last part

La politique d'industrialisation forcée menée en U. R. S. S. Dans les années trente a provoqué une brusque transformation des structures sociales : en quatre ans (1928-1932), le nombre d'ouvriers d'usine est passe de trois à six millions. Cette thèse s'attache à la description de ces bouleversements : elle s'appuie sur l'analyse détaillée de deux recensements syndicaux de 1929 et 1932 33. Le premier chapitre montre qu'en 1929, la vieille classe ouvrière russe n'avait nullement disparu, contrairement aux affirmations de nombreux historiens. Le second chapitre étudie la croissance de la main-d’œuvre industrielle dans les années trente : il met en évidence le rôle du travail force sur les grands chantiers. Dans les chapitres iii et iv, nous examinons les caractéristiques régionales de la classe ouvrière, en prenant cinq exemples : industrie cotonnière de Moscou, sidérurgie de l’Oural, industrie des métaux de Leningrad, charbonnages du Donbass, bassin de Ku neck. Cette enquête fait apparaitre d'étonnantes continuités au niveau régional : le grand tournant n'a pas aboli les héritages du passe. The policy of forced industrialization of Bolshevik leaders in the nineteen thirties provoked a sudden change of the social structures: during the first five-year plan (1928-1932), the number of industrial workers grew from three to six millions people. This ph. D. Seeks to describe these upheavals: it relies on a thorough analysis of two trade-union censuses (1929 and 1932 33). The first chapter shows that in 1929 the Old Russian working class has not disappeared at all, contrary to the opinion of many historians. The second chapter studies the growth of the industrial workforce in the nineteen thirties: it insists on the importance of forced labor on the great building sites. In chapter’s iii and IV, I examine the regional features of the working class, on the basis of five examples: cotton industry of Moscow, ferrous metallurgy of the Urals, metal industry of Leningrad, coal mines of the Donbass, kuakas. From this investigation, it appears that there are astonishing permanence’s on a regional level: the great turning point did not destroy the heritage of the past. Finally, the last chapter tries to define the complex relations between soviet workers and Bolshevik power

En 1884-1885, par le traité de Berlin, dont l'acte final du 26 février 1885 fixa les règles de partage de l’Afrique, le Sahara occidental, situe au nord-ouest de l’Afrique, devient une colonie espagnole. Cette colonie devait retrouver son indépendance fin 1975. Mais le processus de décolonisation entame par l’Espagne, n'a pas pu aboutir. Car le Maroc revendique le territoire. Grace à un accord signé entre l’Espagne, le Maroc et la Mauritanie le 14 novembre 1975, l’Espagne cède le Sahara occidental au Maroc et à la Mauritanie. A l'arrivée des troupes marocaines et mauritaniennes (fin 1975), les habitants ont fui vers Tindouf. Pour faire comprendre aux états voisins et au monde entier leur volonté d'indépendance, les sahraouis, refugies à Tindouf, constituent une république. Préoccupées par ce conflit depuis le début, les organisations internationales interviennent plus ou moins activement. La Mauritanie se retire du conflit en signant un accord de paix avec le Polisario en 1979. La république arabe sahraouie démocratique, proclamée le 27 février 1976, possède les quatre attributs pour constituer un état. En outre, la légalité de la R. A. S. D. , en tant qu'état, a été reconnue par 69 pays, et elle est le 51eme état membre de l'o. U. A. L'existence de la R. A. S. D. Est également reconnue par la communauté internationale ; nous pouvons ainsi dire que la R. A. S. D. Est un véritable Etat.

Abstract:
Le developpement de l'energie nucleaire en urss est indissociable de celui des pays d'europe orientale. Ces derniers ont joue un role important, tant aux origines du choix nucleaire sovietique dans le cadre de la rivalite est-ouest qui a preside a l'avenement des applications civiles de l'atome que dans la phase industrielle de son developpement par leur role dans le processus d'integration intra-caem du secteur nucleaire. D'autre part, la "necessite" de developper une source d'energie alternative aux combustibles fossiles n'est pas l'origine exclusive du choix nucleaire en urss. D'autres considerations, politiques et strategiques, decoulant de la dualite militaire et civile de cette source d'energie ont ete determinantes. Dans cette double perspective, cette recherche s'attache a caracteriser les relations intra-caem, identifier les structures, dysfonctionnements et la logique interne des systemes centralement planifies, evaluer les rapports de force et tendances centrifuges et centripetes, degager les causes et raisons des choix technico-economiques a partir d'une analyse pluridisciplinaire incluant les dimensions energetiques, economiques, historiques et geo-politiques relatives au developpement de l'electronucleaire au sein du caen des origines a tchernobyl. Les implications de cette catastrophe sont analysees en conclusion
The development of nuclear power in the ussr cannot be dissociated from that in eastern europe. The letter played an important role from the inception of the soviet choice in the framework of east-west competition, as well as during the industrial stage within the comecon integration process of the nuclear sector. The "necessity" of an alternative energy source to fossil fuel was not the sole reason for a nuclear option in the ussr : other political and strategic consideration, stemming from the civilian and military aspects of this source of energy, were at stake. In this perspective, the research provides an analysis of the intra-comecon relations ; identifies the structures, mechanisms, dysfuntions and the internal logic of centrally planned economies. It evaluates the balance of power, the centrifugal and centripetal forces, the reasons and bases for technical and economic choices in the framework of a pluridisciplinary approach, including the energy, economic, historical and geo-political dimensions relative to nuclear power within the comecon from origin to tchernobyl. The implications of this disaster are discussed in the conclusion

Abstract:
La question éducative et scolaire est un élément central de la politique d'un état. Quand il s'agit de l'URSS qui souhaitait transformer la société, l'étude du système éducatif et des législations scolaires depuis Khroutchev jusqu'au début des années quatre vint dix - c'est à dire au moment où le régime disparait - prend alors tout son intérêt. L'étude de l'école primaire et secondaire polytechnique, de l'enseignement technique et professionnel, de l'enseignement supérieur ainsi que celle des enseignants, permet de dresser un tableau de l'institution scolaire dans toute sa diversité et même ses contradictions. La politique éducative donne à l'apprentissage du travail une place comme élément formateur et unificateur des jeunes soviétiques et en même temps son caractère élitiste est très marqué tout au long de notre période. Malgré les efforts consentis pour unifier le système de formation, l'institution scolaire apparait comme éclatée. Il y a une grande diversité, aussi bien dans les objectifs de formation que dans les moyens disponibles notamment entre la ville et la campagne, l'enseignement en langue russe et les enseignements en langue nationale dans les républiques non russophones. Enfin il apparait que la tentation d'utiliser l'école comme élément fondamental d'éucation politique, qui est constante et semble se renforcer au fur et à mesure que les problèmes économiques, sociaux et politiques s'aiguisent, est de plus en plus combattue par des pans entiers de la société
Schools and education are an essential feature in the policy af any state. When it comes to the USSR, as they wanted to change society, the study of the school system and laws from Khruchtev till the beginning of the 90s i-e when the regime disappears, is indeed all the more interesting. The study of primary, secondary and polytechnical education vocational and technical education, higher education, as well as the study of teatcher training give us a complete picture of the school system in it, diversity and contradictions. The educational policy is part and parcel of the training and unification element of young soviets and at the same time its elitist touch is very clear throughout that period. In spite of the efforts to unify the training system to scool establishment seems to be shattered and ther's a great diversity in the training targets as well as in the means avaible especially in urban and rural areas, the teaching in russian ansd national languages in norussian speaking republics. Lastly, the temptation to use school as an basic element and seems to get stronger as the economic, social and political problems get more serious, is more and more opposed to by whole sections of society

In any reversible reaction such as . . . vA A + vB B ↔ vR R + vS S [2.1] . . . the system inevitably moves toward a state of equilibrium, or maximum probability. This equilibrium state is very important in analyzing chemical reactions because it defines the limit to which any reaction can proceed. Organic reactions, particularly those constituting a synthetic scheme for a fine chemical, usually involve molecules reacting in the liquid phase. The effects of reactant structure and of the solvent (medium) in which the reaction occurs (the solvation effects) are not included in the conventional macroscopic approach to thermodynamics. Therefore, the treatment of liquid-phase reactions tends to be less exact than that of gas-phase reactions involving simpler molecules without these influences. A convenient way of approaching this problem is to start with the conventional macroscopic or thermodynamic approach and add enough microscopic detail to allow for the effects of solute (reactant) structure and the medium. This approach is called the extrathermodynamic approach and may be regarded as bridging the gap between the two rather disparate fields of rates and equilibria represented by kinetics and thermodynamics, respectively. Such an approach is particularly useful in organic synthesis and forms the subject matter of this chapter. An important consideration in process calculations is the change that results in the basic thermodynamic properties, internal energy (U), enthalpy (H), Helmholtz work function (A), and Gibbs free energy (G) when a closed system of constant mass moves from one macroscopic state to another. For a homogeneous fluid, these change equations can be expressed in terms of four differential equations, which then can be written in difference form by employing the operator Δ to represent the change from state 1 to state 2: Of these, the enthalpy and free energy change equations are the most frequently used in the analysis of reactions.

Abstract:
Teaching a foreign language of a specialty in the bachelor's system is becoming more and more practice-oriented. The purpose of the study is to develop and scientifically substantiate a methodology for teaching a foreign language with elements of professionalization on the basis of identifying and comparing the national Russian culture code of goods and services and the national code of goods and services of the foreign language culture of the country of the foreign language being studied. The results of the conducted pedagogical experiment allow us to conclude that it is possible to increase the effectiveness of teaching students in the sphere of advertising and public relations by including the presented methodology in the curriculum for the discipline «Professional communication in English», as well as, when teaching other languages in the systems of bachelor's and master's degrees.
