Abstract:
AbstractUnsolicited findings (UFs) are uncovered unintentionally and predispose to a disease unrelated to the clinical question. The frequency and nature of UFs uncovered in clinical practice remain largely unexplored. We here evaluated UFs identified during a 5-year period in which 16,482 index patients received clinical whole-exome sequencing (WES). UFs were identified in 0.58% (95/16,482) of index patients, indicating that the overall frequency of UFs in clinical WES is low. Fewer UFs were identified using restricted disease-gene panels (0.03%) than when using whole-exome/Mendeliome analysis (1.03%). The UF was disclosed to 86 of 95 individuals, for reasons of medical actionability. Only 61% of these UFs reside in a gene that is listed on the “ACMG59”-list, representing a list of 59 genes for which the American College of Medical Genetics recommends UF disclosure. The remaining 39% were grouped into four categories: disorders similar to “ACMG59”-listed disorders (25%); disorders for which disease manifestation could be influenced (7%); UFs providing reproductive options (2%); and UFs with pharmacogenetic implications (5%). Hence, our experience shows that UFs predisposing to medically actionable disorders affect a broader range of genes than listed on the “ACMG59”, advocating that a pre-defined gene list is too restrictive, and that UFs may require ad hoc evaluation of medical actionability. While both the identification and disclosure of UFs depend on local policy, our lessons learned provide general essential insight into the nature and odds of UFs in clinical exome sequencing.

Abstract:
The main role in modern technology of long-term preservation of livestock gene pool is not only in conditions of low temperature conservation of reproductive cells and embryos, but also in composition of biomedia which are able to preserve their maximum integrity during this process. That is why cryomedia have been permanently improved in order to provide maximum vitality of cells after deconservation. Previously it was found that admixture of slight amount of high disperse (nanosized) silica (UFS) to the standard LGY-cryomedium for bull sperm freezing result in the increase of gametes survival after deconservation. As for UFS, it is widely used in preparation of drugs as a supporting substance, because in certain concentration limits it is physiologically non-harmful and compatible with biological systems. Such SiO2 has the developed surface, covered by hydroxyl groups, which demonstrates high adsorption activity with respect to a lot of substances. Replacement of hydroxyls by synthetic or natural compounds makes it possible to synthesize on this base immobilized biologically active preparations with prolonged and adsorption action. Thus, immobilization of some carbohydrates on UFS surface allowed us to obtain nanobiomaterials (NBM) which, being admixed to some cryomedia, provided higher survival of gametes after their defrosting in comparison with initial SiO2. The aim of present work was obtaining NBM, based on UFS, bovine serum albumin (BSA) and N-acelylneuraminic acid (N-ANA) and also examination of its biological activity using ejaculated bovine gametes of Holstein bulls (Strolh 379536/678, Tom 379545/345 and Тryplle 244), which are kept more than 29 years in the Bank of Animal Genetic Resources of Institute of Animal Breeding and Genetics nd. a. M.V.Zubets of NAAS. NBM UFC/N-ANA was obtained by impregnation of UFS, surface of which was preliminary heated during 2 hours at 200о С. NBM UFS/BSA and UFS/BSA/N-АНК were obtained by non-covalent adsorption of biomolecules. They were added to bovine gametes on the stage of their deconservation in concentration 0,001 %. Effect of NBM on spermatozoa was estimated in percents using the index of vitality according to activity of their movement. It was found out that after defrosting of bovine spermatozoa they demonstrated average activity of about 50,0 ± 5,77%. The same index of gametes activity in the control (without NBM admixture) lowered during 30 minutes only 3,3%, and reached 46,7 ± 6,01%. In experimental groups after 30 minutes the most active ones were gametes, which were in contact with UFS/BSA/N-ANA (56,7 ± 8,82 %). Gametes mixed with UFS demonstrated the lowest activity. In comparison with the control it decreased by 10 % and by 20 %, in comparison with UFS/BSA/N-ANA. Thus, admixture of UFS in concentration 0,001 % to deconservated bovine spermatozoa, stored in frozen state for considerable time, is inappropriate. In presence of NBM UFS/BSA, unlike to UFS/BSA/N-ANA, the mobility of gametes decreased only by 1,7 %. At the same time, in presence of NBM without protein – UFS/N-ANA, the decrease of mobility by 11,7 % was observed. It testifies in favour of possible stabilization of mobile cells number in presence of protein in NBM. But at low concentrations of nanoparticles in the media, containing cells, the probability of their contact with cell surface is insignificant. So, it may be assumed that this effect is observed due to interaction of NBM with components of semen plasma and cryomedium and this may result in redistribution of forms of water. After 60 minutes of experiment, the most active were gametes in compositions with UFS/N-ANA (48,3 ± 4,41 %) and UFS/BSA/N-ANA (51,7 ± 8,82 %). In the control during this period the lower mobility was observed (41,7 ± 7,26 %) in comparison with upper mentioned samples and higher mobility by 13,4 % and 1,7 % in comparison with BSA and UFS/BSA. After 1,5 hours of the experiment both in control and experimental samples the gradual decrease of mobility was observed. Summarizing the estimation of biological activity of NBM, the most promising was UFS/BSA and UFS/BSA/N-ANA. The first NBM provided for initial increase of spermatozoa mobility up to level 55,0 ± 5,77 %, whereas UFS/BSA/N-ANA, as it was shown previously, – up to 56,7 ± 8,82 %. Difference between them was not practically observed, but special role of protein was noted as a surface active substance. But mechanisms of activity of each NBM seem to be different. As for N-ANA in NBM, according to its functional properties it is able to provide for increase of chemical affinity of nanomaterials to certain components of semen or corresponding cell receptors, in contrast to protein. Thus, we have proved the possibility to increase the level of mobility of deconservated bovine spermatozoa, previously stored for a long period in liquid nitrogen, caused by addition of NBM based on UFS and upper mentioned biomolecules, which result is particularly important further, on the initial stages of egg fertilization.

Abstract:
Context. Umbral flashes (UFs) are most common phenomenon of wave processes in sunspots. Studying the relationship between wave time dynamics and the origin of UFs requires further investigation of their fine spatial and height structure. Aims. We investigated the association between a short time increase in the variations of 3-min extreme ultraviolet (EUV) emission at footpoints of coronal magnetic loops and the UF emergence in sunspot umbra. The spatial structure of magnetic field lines and their inclination determine the cut-off frequency and visibility of sunspot waves. Methods. We applied the pixelized wavelet filtering (PWF) technique to analyse a cube of the images obtained by SDO/AIA at 1600 Å, 304 Å, and 171 Å to study the spatio-temporal oscillation power distribution in individual magnetic loops. Time–distance plots were used to obtain the wave front propagation velocity. Results. For the first time, we obtained the 2D images of the fine wave processes in magnetic structures of different spatial scales related to the UFs in sunspot. We revealed two types of the UFs as background and local. The background UFs associated with random increasing of separate parts of wave fronts. These UFs are seen as weak and diffuse details that ride the wave fronts without stable shapes and localization in space. The local UFs sources mainly localize near to the footpoint of magnetic loops, anchored in an umbra, along which the propagation of 3-min waves was observed. The time dynamics of flash evolution shows an increase in 3-min oscillations before the UFs peak value within one low-frequency wave train. It is shown that the maxima of 3-min oscillation trains coincide with the peak intensity of UFs. During the UFs evolution, a fine wave spatial and temporal dynamics in UFs local sources was observed. Conclusions. The sunspot 3-min wave dynamics showed a relation between the localization of oscillations power peak at the coronal magnetic loop footpoints and the UFs origin. The spatial structure of the UFs sources, their power, and lifetime are determined by the cut-off frequency of the waves for the detected waveguides. We concluded that UFs are a global process of short-time increase of the wave activity.

Abstract:
BackgroundIn precision medicine, somatic and germline DNA sequencing are essential to make genome-guided treatment decisions in patients with cancer. However, it can also uncover unsolicited findings (UFs) in germline DNA that could have a substantial impact on the lives of patients and their relatives. It is therefore critical to understand the preferences of patients with cancer concerning UFs derived from whole-exome (WES) or whole-genome sequencing (WGS).MethodsIn a quantitative multicentre study, adult patients with cancer (any stage and origin of disease) were surveyed through a digital questionnaire based on previous semi-structured interviews. Background knowledge was provided by showing two videos, introducing basic concepts of genetics and general information about different categories of UFs (actionable, non-actionable, reproductive significance, unknown significance).ResultsIn total 1072 patients were included of whom 701 participants completed the whole questionnaire. Overall, 686 (85.1%) participants wanted to be informed about UFs in general. After introduction of four UFs categories, 113 participants (14.8%) changed their answer: 718 (94.2%) participants opted for actionable variants, 537 (72.4%) for non-actionable variants, 635 (87.0%) participants for UFs of reproductive significance and 521 (71.8%) for UFs of unknown significance. Men were more interested in receiving certain UFs than women: non-actionable: OR 3.32; 95% CI 2.05 to 5.37, reproductive significance: OR 1.97; 95% CI 1.05 to 3.67 and unknown significance: OR 2.00; 95% CI 1.25 to 3.21. In total, 244 (33%) participants conceded family members to have access to their UFs while still alive. 603 (82%) participants agreed to information being shared with relatives, after they would pass away.ConclusionOur study showed that the vast majority of patients with cancer desires to receive all UFs of genome testing, although a substantial minority does not wish to receive non-actionable findings. Incorporation of categories in informed consent procedures supports patients in making informed decisions on UFs.

Abstract:
Uterine fibroids (UFs) are benign tumors of the reproductive tract, arising from smooth muscle cells of the uterus. Steroid hormones, estrogen, and progesterone are considered to be the most important links in the pathophysiology of UFs. Alpha-tocopherol (AT) is the most active form of vitamin E. What is important as far as UFs are concerned is that ATs contain structural determinants, which makes them possible ligands for estrogen receptors (ERs). We present a retrospective cohort study performed in a university teaching hospital. We included a total of 162 patients divided into 2 groups: with UFs and controls. The effects of age, body mass index (BMI), positive medical history, parity, and AT serum concentrations on the risk for the development of UFs were investigated. Mean AT serum concentrations were 11.66 ± 4.97 μg/ml and 7.83 ± 3.13 μg/ml (medians 10.56 μg/ml and 7.42 μg/ml) in patients with UFs confirmed on ultrasound and controls, respectively. The presented difference was statistically significant. Higher BMI, positive family history, and low parity were found to be major risk factors for UFs. In our study, we confirmed that elevated serum AT concentration might be an important risk factor for UFs in Caucasian women. Further research in this area is necessary.

Abstract:
Abstract Objectives Our aim was to predict progression of non-muscle-invasive bladder urothelial carcinomas (NMIUCs) into muscle-invasive disease by assessing cytogenetic abnormality of tumors with a new UroVysion scoring system. Methods Seventy-five bladder cancer cases (including 57 NMIUCs) were classified according to the quantitatively assessed degree of UroVysion-detected chromosomal abnormalities into urine fluorescence in situ hybridization score (UFS) groups: UFS I, II, and III. Cox time-to-event, Kaplan-Meier, and C-statistics analyses were performed. Results UFS proved to be an independent prognostic factor of progression-free survival (PFS) and time to progression (TTP). NMIUCs with UFS III had a 34.05-fold increased hazard for progression to muscle-invasive cancer (TTP; 95% confidence interval, 5.841-198.5; P < .001) in comparison with UFS I to II cases. The addition of UFS to conventional risk scores increased the C-index for PFS and TTP. Conclusions UFS can indicate an increased risk for progression into muscle-invasive disease in patients with NMIUC and improves prognostic accuracy of the current clinical risk assessment systems.

Abstract:
4623 Background: The role of neoadjuvant chemotherapy (NAC) for resectable pancreatic cancer (RPC) remains controversial. We sought to compare the outcomes of NAC with upfront surgery (UFS). Methods: The study retrospectively enrolled patients with RPC who had UFS or received neoadjuvant FOLFIRINOX (FFX) or gemcitabine plus albumin-bound paclitaxel (GA). Between-group differences were assessed with T-test for continuous variables, and Chi-square / Fisher’s exact test for categorical variables. The overall survival (OS) and recurrence-free survival (RFS) were determined by the Kaplan-Meier method with Wilcoxon test for the difference between groups. The effects of NAC vs. UFS on OS and RFS were further estimated using Cox regression controlling the effects of age and CA 19-9. Results: Between 2011 and 2019, 131 patients with RPC underwent UFS followed by adjuvant chemotherapy (gemcitabine, n = 65; gemcitabine/capecitabine, n = 18; FFX, n = 9). Up to 32 patients (24.4%) could not receive adjuvant chemotherapy due to surgical complications or poor recovery. Total 50 patients with RPC received NAC (FFX, n = 32; GA, n = 18). Median of 5.5 cycles of FFX or 3 cycles of GA were given prior to surgery. Resection rate was 72% (FFX 62.5%; GA 88.9%). The rest (28%) were no longer surgical candidates due to disease progression rather than toxicities from NAC. On surgical pathological review, complete resection (R0) was achieved in 83.3% of resected cases after NAC (FFX 90%; GA 75%) and 79.4% with UFS. The tumor size distribution was: pT1 11.1%, pT2 41.7%, pT3 44.4% with NAC; pT1 5.4%, pT2 18.3%, pT3 76.3% with UFS. The nodal status distribution was: pN0 27.8%, pN1 55.5%, pN2 16.7% with NAC; pN0 23.7%, pN1 71.0%, pN2 5.3% with UFS. Median pre-treatment CA 19-9 was 321.95 unit/mL in the NAC group and 79.99 unit/mL in the UFS group (p = 0.009). Median age was 70.5 in the NAC group and 72 in the UFS group (p = 0.374). There was no significant difference in the performance status between the two groups. In Kaplan-Meier analysis, there was a significant difference of OS between UFS and NAC with median OS of 648 days under UFS versus 884 days under NAC (p = 0.029); the median of RFS was 390 days under UFS versus 392 days under NAC (p = 0.953). The hazard ratio (NAC vs UFS) adjusted for CA19-9 and age was 0.7 (p = 0.176) for OS and 0.98 (p = 0.918) for RFS. Conclusions: We observed a signal of tumor downstaging, higher R0 rate, and improved OS with NAC compared with UFS. Further prospective trials are needed to validate these results.

Abstract:
This study aimed at investigating the durability characteristics of the ambient-cured geopolymer concrete (GPC) developed using recycled coarse aggregate (RCA) and ultrafine slag (UFS). Two series of mixes were prepared. Natural aggregates (NAs) were replaced by RCA at different volume levels of 0, 25, 50 and 100% in both series. Meanwhile, UFS was added as a replacement by volume of fly ash at varying levels of 0, 15, and 30% in the first series, while UFS was used in addition to fly ash by percentage weight of fly ash at the levels of 0, 15, and 30% in the second series. The compressive strength, water absorption, chloride ion penetration, and carbonation depth of the developed ambient-cured GPC were studied. In addition, creep and drying shrinkage of the specimens were also examined. It was found that the compressive strength increased with the UFS content, while the opposite trend was observed with increasing RCA%. The highest compressive strength obtained with 100% RCA was 40.21 MPa (at 90 days), when 30% UFS was used in addition to fly ash. The addition of UFS not only helped in improving the strength characteristics but also provided an alternative to heat curing, which is a major drawback of GPC. Furthermore, the negative effects of RCA can also be minimised by adding UFS, which can be used as a compensator to RCA to improve the durability characteristics. The experimental results prove that susceptibility to chemical, water and chloride attacks can be mitigated by incorporation of UFS, and durable GPC can be produced by using RCA and UFS.

Abstract:
Uterine fibroids (UFs) are the most common benign tumors of the female genital tract. The incidence of UFs has been estimated at 25–80% depending on selected population. The pathophysiology of UFs remains poorly understood. The transformation of smooth muscle cells of the uterus into abnormal, immortal cells, capable of clonal division, is the main component of all pathways leading to UF tumor formation and tumor necrosis factor α (TNF-α) is believed to be one of the key factors in this field. TNF-α is a cell signaling protein involved in systemic inflammation and is one of the cytokines responsible for the acute phase reaction. This publication presents current data about the role of tumor necrosis factor α in the biology of UFs and the related symptoms. TNF-α is an extremely important cytokine associated with the biology of UFs, UF-related symptoms and complaints. Its concentration has been proven to be elevated in women with clinically symptomatic UFs. The presented data suggest the presence of an “inflammation-like” state in women with UFs where TNF-α is a potent inflammation inducer. The origin of numerous symptoms reported by women with UFs can be traced back to the TNF-α influence. Nevertheless, our knowledge on this subject remains limited and TNF-α dependent pathways in UF pathophysiology should be investigated further.

Abstract:
The identities are forged dynamically in daily life amid the socio-psychological and political conditions. In this work, we adopt the theoretical perspective of social psychology, which considers social identity as a part of self-enunciation related to the perception of belonging to social groups, along with emotional meanings associated with that membership. This paper examines the dynamics of content creation and identity among resident students of UFS University through two studies: the first following a script mixed with questionnaire and interview, and the second through meetings in the form of focus groups. The study I aimed at investigating how university residents processed their identity constructions and specifically to verify the identity dimension which would be more evident - the individual or collective - what is the importance of (being a resident) for said building identity; the level of satisfaction associated with social belonging; which representations residents have of their social belonging and, finally, what meta-stereotypes in relation to group membership are apprehended by residents in the university context. The results indicated the large capacity of the participants in constructing self-concept meanings for themselves on the individual dimension, rather than consideration of possible dimensions of collective identities. Little emphasis was also noticed on self formulations of survey participants regarding the identity category "resident / university resident", and this, plus low prevalence, is also little protruding between them. Moreover, for those who associate their identities to the recognition of social belonging, the level of satisfaction regarding their identities is ambivalent. We also verified that there is among the surveyed a representational framework regarding the social belonging that does not favor the production of identity linked to the group of resident students; this frame also includes the seizure of meta-stereotypes toward the group produced in the university context. The study II aimed to verify whether, in contexts where possibly belonging to the social group of university residents structures political positions, participants turn to the social belonging "university resident" with a higher prevalence in the promotion and projection of their statements. The results indicated that, in specific situations, university residents now use the social category to which they belong in their identity constructions with the goal of legitimizing the demands and garner resources (material and symbolic) for the group. The recognition of social contexts in which the identity dynamics are processed, the perception of stereotypes and discrimination that arise from the establishment of an undervalued social identity causes individuals not to edit their identity belongings, whereas in times of struggles for better conditions for group membership, the affirmation of social identity is needed in legitimizing the claims related to the well being of the group.

Abstract:
Science communication sets as an ally of scientific literacy, since the popularization of knowledge in science and technology (S & T) composes as a beneficial action to the educational process in science, which allows to the citizen to create a critical mindset about the progress, outcomes and limits of science and technology. The aim of this study therefore is to understand how teachers/researchers from UFS evaluate the importance of science communication in UFS Journal, which is produced by the Communications Department of the Federal University of Sergipe, and to what extent this paper enables science literacy. The study is qualitative, and its main informational instrument is the questionnaire, which was answered by 16 teachers/researchers, sources of S&T reports published at UFS Journal - since the first edition printed in 2007 until the first edition of 2013, totaling 9 editions. The results showed that the UFS researchers realize the importance of science communication as a mean for disseminating the knowledge restricted to the general public and, regarding the UFS Journal , they pointed out the problems of frequency, distribution and range of printed as impediments to the performance of the S&T promotional activity. Concerning the relationship between divulgation and scientific literacy, the majority considered these two inseparable elements, indicating the relevance of the first to arrive at the second.

Abstract:
It is known that old teaching strategies together with traditional pedagogical paradigm are insufficient to guarantee that learning really occur based on the new model of society. The professors need to ensure the Significant Learning and a way to achieve this goal is through Conceptual Maps (CM). Thus, this dissertation aimed to find out how Conceptual Maps are a part of the initial formation of basic education professors from UFS courses. Qualitative methodology was used through the application of questionnaires and interviews. Nine interviews from professors that teach pedagogical disciplines were analyzed. Most of them indicated the use of CM in a search for differ their teaching strategies in order to promote the Significant Learning in the classroom. The maps main contributions on the courses were: the facility for learning concepts, which helps future teachers to better master the content and instrumentation for the exercise of professional practice using one of the resources present in current textbooks of basic education. This strategy was perceived as favorable to the development of teaching practice that has brought improvements to the teaching and learning process of some pedagogical disciplines from UFS programs.

Abstract:
Mestrado em Biomedicina Farmacêutica
The present report describes my 9 months experience as a trainee at the Southern Pharmacovigilance Unit, a Regional Pharmacovigilance Unit of the National Pharmacovigilance System and at the Risk Management for Medicines Department of the National Authority of Medicines and Health Products, I.P.. The main objective of this training was the acquisition of technical skills and experience in pharmacovigilance and the consolidation of some knowledge acquired during my Degree in Biomedical Sciences and my first year of the Master’s Degree in Pharmaceutical Biomedicine. The activities developed focused mostly on the processing of spontaneous reports of suspected adverse drug reactions from healthcare professionals and patients and on the analysis of the quality of individual case safety reports sent from the marketing authorisation holders. During the training period I also had the opportunity to participate in some risk minimisation activities, such as the validation of direct healthcare professional communications. Besides the description of the activities and tasks performed over the period of the training, this report also describes the main difficulties encountered and the competencies that I believe I achieved during this professional experience. This training was my first contact with the work environment and gave me a clear perspective of how a Regional Pharmacovigilance Unit and a National Competent Authority work, as well as their interactions with the pharmaceutical industry, the healthcare professionals and the patients, allowing me, simultaneously, to acquire several competences at a personal and professional level, which will be essential for my future.

Abstract:
Uterine fibroids (UF) is the most prevalent gynecological tumor, and common symptoms are abnormal uterine bleeding and pelvic pain. The Uterine Fibroids Symptoms and Quality of Life (UFS-QOL) is the only specific questionnaire that assesses the intensity of symptoms and quality-of-life issues for women with symptomatic UF; however, we do not have its translation in another language than English. Thus, we aimed to translate and culturally validate the UFS-QOL questionnaire for Brazilian Portuguese language. We performed a transversal study at the Department of Gynecology and Obstetrics, Ribeirão Preto School of Medicine, University of São Paulo. One hundred and thirteen patients with UF and 55 patients without UF (control group) were interviewed with the UFS-QOL questionnaire after translation and cultural adaptation; the Short-Form 36 questionnaire (SF36) was used as a control questionnaire. Demographic and psychometric variables (internal consistency, construct validity, test-retest and responsiveness) were analyzed. Women with UF presented a higher mean of age, body mass index, weight, parity and comorbidities than the control group (p<0.05). The most prevalent symptoms were abnormal uterine bleeding (93.8%), pelvic pain (36.3%) and extrinsic compression (10.6%) and they presented adequate construct validity with the UFS-QOL severity index (p<0.05). The UFS-QOL presented good internal consistency in severity symptoms and HRQL scores (ICC=0.82/0.88). Test-retest did not differ among all domains of the UFS-QOL questionnaire (p>.05). After treatment, women with UF presented an improvement in all UFS-QOL domains. Therefore, the UFS-QOL presented an adequate translation and cultural validation to the Brazilian Portuguese language, with good internal consistency, discriminant validity, construct validity, structural validity, test-retest and responsiveness.

Abstract:
This study aims to examine the budget management of the Federal University of Sergipe (UFS) in the period 1998 to 2008. Specifically, it seeks: a) analyze the composition of the resources of UFS highlighting the obstacles and alternatives to enlarge capture of revenue, b) present the costs to the institution, explaining the effect measures for its control, c) explain the accomplishments achieved through the actions budget executed, d) list the main results obtained and investments through direct appropriation, the parliamentary amendments, the highlights and the actions developed in extrabudgetary UFS. For development of research, we used the following resources: documents taken from the Financial Management System (SIAFI), Federal Government's Management Reports for t of this work and literature inherent to the subject. Among the results, we highlight the following: i) as to finance - the raising of funds through decentralization of credit from projects and partnerships is an important alternative to top up the credit institution's budget; ii) as to the allocation of expenditure - the establishment excels for cost containment with the applicability of measures for the rational use of resources, iii) as to the performance of the institution - there is an exponential increase in activities related to teaching, research and extension expressed by the increased number of courses and vacancies for undergraduate and graduate, as highlighted by the indexed publications. Partnerships have provided funding to exogenous UFS appropriate infrastructure for development of scientific and technological research in the state of Sergipe, besides promoting the articulation of the institution different external sectors, iv) on the Budget Process - the institution has conducted much of budget. The difficulties faced by UFS are inherent in every university in the national scene, like the excessive bureaucracy, the primacy of the accounting procedures and financial control bodies, to the detriment of the physical implementation of IFES. Suggestions are proposed to improve the management of the allocation of human, material and financial resources.

This research aims to define indicators of educational quality and evaluate possibilities and limits in the implementation of an Integral Education Project in the College of Application of the Federal University of Sergipe - CODAP. It is a qualitative, non-participatory research, of documentary and bibliographic analysis focused on the historical-analytical construction of the objects of study, which are the Colleges of Application, Integral Education, as public policies for the improvement of education and Quality of Education with the study of its indicators. We analyzed: laws, ordinances, decrees, resolutions, opinions, manuals, management reports and statistical data of the school sense. In addition to a bibliographical survey on the search sites for theses, dissertations and published scientific articles related to the key words. From this study the theoretical reference is presented. First, the Colleges of Application as a public policy created in 1946 to improve teacher training, motivation for its creation, and its development. CFE Opinion No. 292/1962, showing the purposes of the Application Colleges as a field of teaching and experimentation or pedagogic demonstration, its outcomes and ends with the balance of current teaching, research, and extension activities, in addition to of their contributions to programs aimed at improving the quality of basic education. The second reference, Integral Education as a strategy to improve the quality of basic education, its pedagogical conceptions, the historical experiences developed in Brazil as public policies for its implementation. The third referential, is the Quality of Education as a right of all, present in Brazilian educational legislation from the federal constitution of 1988 to the current National Education Plan. We discuss the concepts of Quality Education in the Brazilian educational literature, the main conceptions about quality indicators for education and the adoption of the Initial Quality Student Cost by the National Education Plan. Then, quality indicators for integral education are defined in in-school and out-of-school dimensions. Next, the evaluation methodology is presented with the control protocols, the scale of notes, the scale of concepts of the indicator between potentiator or limiter of the project and the protocols of evaluation with the guiding questions for each of the indicators applied to CODAP. The results of the evaluation are shown and justified, first the indicators of the Intra-school dimension: School Management, School Space, School Time, School Curriculum, Political Pedagogical Project, Faculty and Technical-Administrative Body. And because of the extracurricular dimension, the Financing Policy indicator. In the final considerations the possibilities pointed out by the indicators School Management and Faculty are discussed. The correlation between the School Space, School Time and School Curriculum indicators, which point out the need for a new organization of school work for full-time education, differentiated from the traditional shift organization still predominant in CODAP. And the limits indicated by the indicators Technical-Administrative, Political Pedagogical Project and Financing Policy, for the implementation of a project of Integral Education in the Colleges of Application of UFS.

Abstract:

Inclusive educational innovation is understood here as a product, for example a didactic material, or process, as an event or a methodology, resulting from actions developed by a student, from the awareness of their singularities, aiming at amplifying their possibilities of development in An educational context. We understand that through the discussion of singularities, aiming at empowering innovation, it is possible for the licenciando to be protagonist of the inclusion itself. Thus, our objective was to identify possible student singularities understanding their relation with proposals of inclusive innovation for students of the Biological Sciences course, licenciatura, of the Federal University of Sergipe. Our methodology was given through the collection of 6 individual interviews, with subjects of both sexes, students the referred course, who accepted to participate. The corpus of material recorded and transcribed was interpreted by thematic analysis of Bardin content, from categories constructed a posteriori. The most cited singularity and presented by all the interviewees was socioeconomic. Other singularities presented were those of gender and sexuality and ethnic- racial. The students' conception of innovation points to an opposition between innovative and conservative. All are reported to be innovative in teaching, but this innovation is usually linked to didactic materials and methodologies. In the innovation gradient most of the students are ideally, they have ideas but do not share or propose them. We noticed that the less innovative students put more barriers, among them the insecurity was the most cited. As conclusions we have that the life history of the individual allows us to know better their singularities and these are linked to the innovations that they propose and will influence the professional that this will become. We conclude that the students are innovative, but fail to propose for fear of the opinions of others. We did not get any examples of inclusive innovation proposed by them. We believe that what is missing is to motivate and encourage students to feel confident. Once they feel more secure they will propose their ideas and consequently the inclusive innovations.

Abstract:
Unsupervised Feature Selection (UFS) methods try to extract features that can well keep the intrinsic structure of data. To make full use of such information in this paper we use one of the simplest graph sparsification strategies MST (Minimum Spanning Tree) for the task of UFS. A novel graph structural information method is proposed for unsupervised feature selection, we simplify and preserve correlation between features via MST through a structure that simultaneously captures the local and global structure of data, and then use graph structural information directly to achieve the subset representative features with minimum redundancy and more discriminative power. To show the effectiveness of our method, some of the most representative and referenced UFS methods are used for conducting experiments on some benchmark datasets. Experimental results verify that the proposed feature subset selection algorithm is effective, more specifically at the running time.

Abstract:
Six-degree-of-freedom (DOF) robotic/universal force-moment sensor (UFS) testing systems have become very useful tools in the study of biomechanics of joints. (DeFrate 2001, Fujie 2000, Rudy 1996) Researchers have successfully utilized these systems to determine joint kinematics using force control algorithms. Recent interest in using these robotic systems to reproduce previously recorded motions of a diarthrodial joint during a clinical examination has emerged. However, reproducing these previously recorded kinematics using a robotic/UFS testing system poses several problems.

Abstract:
Current unsupervised feature selection (UFS) methods learn the similarity matrix by using a simple graph which is learnt from the original data as well as is independent from the process of feature selection, and thus unable to efficiently remove the redundant/irrelevant features. To address these issues, we propose a new UFS method to jointly learn the similarity matrix and conduct both subspace learning (via learning a dynamic hypergraph) and feature selection (via a sparsity constraint). As a result, we reduce the feature dimensions using different methods (i.e., subspace learning and feature selection) from different feature spaces, and thus makes our method select the informative features effectively and robustly. We tested our method using benchmark datasets to conduct the clustering tasks using the selected features, and the experimental results show that our proposed method outperforms all the comparison methods.

Evaluation of Unmanned Aircraft Systems for flood risk management : results of terrain and structure assessments. Engineer Research and Development Center (U.S.), August 2022. http://dx.doi.org/10.21079/11681/45000.

Full text
Abstract:
The 2017 Duck Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) Pilot Experiment was conducted by the US Army Engineer Research and Development Center (ERDC), Coastal and Hydraulics Laboratory, Field Research Facility (FRF), to assess the potential for different UAS to support US Army Corps of Engineers coastal and flood risk management. By involving participants from multiple ERDC laboratories, federal agencies, academia, and private industry, the work unit leads were able to leverage assets, resources, and expertise to assess data from multiple UAS. This report compares datasets from several UAS to assess their potential to survey and observe coastal terrain and structures. In this report, UAS data product accuracy was analyzed within the context of three potential applications: (1) general coastal terrain survey accuracy across the FRF property; (2) small-scale feature detection and observation within the experiment infrastructure area; and (3) accuracy for surveying coastal foredunes. The report concludes by presenting tradeoffs between UAS accuracy and the cost to operate to aid in selection of the best UAS for a particular task. While the technology and exact UAS models vary through time, the lessons learned from this study illustrate that UAS are available at a variety of costs to satisfy varying coastal management data needs.

Full text
Abstract:
This US Army Engineer Research and Development Center, Coastal and Hydraulics Laboratory, technical report details guiBathy, a graphical user interface to estimate nearshore bathymetry from imagery collected via a hovering Unmanned Aerial System (UAS). guiBathy provides an end-to-end solution for non-subject-matter-experts to utilize commercia-off-the-shelf UAS to collect quantitative imagery of the nearshore by packaging robust photogrammetric and signal-processing algorithms into an easy-to-use software interface. This report begins by providing brief background on coastal imaging and the photogrammetry and bathymetric inversion algorithms guiBathy utilizes, as well as UAS data collection requirements. The report then describes guiBathy software specifications, features, and workflow. Example guiBathy applications conclude the report with UAS bathymetry measurements taken during the 2020 Atlantic Hurricane Season, which compare favorably (root mean square error = 0.44 to 0.72 m; bias = -0.35 to -0.11 m) with in situ survey measurements. guiBathy is a standalone executable software for Windows 10 platforms and will be freely available at www.github.com/erdc.
