This diploma thesis focuses on the design and implementation of an emulator of RFID protocols in a software defined radio. The designed emulator operates in the UHF band (860 MHz – 960 MHz). A aflatoxina M1 (AFM1) é um metabólito tóxico resultante da biotransformação da aflatoxina B1 e pode ser secretada no leite de animais que ingerem alimentos contaminados com esta última. Considerando os efeitos adversos que podem ocorrer devido à ingestão do produto contaminado e visto que as crianças, maiores consumidoras deste alimento, são potencialmente mais sensíveis que os adultos aos efeitos desta micotoxina, a avaliação da presença de AFM1 no leite se faz necessária. The decomposition of formic acid proceeds via two principal reaction pathways: dehydration and dehydrogenation. Mechanisms and reaction ratios depend on the nature of the catalysts used. This work provides mechanistic insight into the decomposition of formic acid on Co(0001) and a highly stepped cobalt surface. The catalytic systems were studied in ultra-high vacuum by XPS and temperature programmed desorption. This thesis deals with the development of scanning probe microscopes. Mechanical requirements for microscopes using measuring methods of scanning tunneling microscopy (STM) and atomic force microscopy (AFM) under enviroments of an ultrahigh vacuum (UHV) and variable temperatures are specified. Mechanical designs of two microscopes are discussed and their control electronics described. Sub-surface precipitations of UH3 have been modelled with Finite Element methods. The model includes a pre-stressed oxide layer, metal anisotropy, metal plasticity and a hyper elastic coherent hydride. The model was used to investigate UH3 precipitating at a variety of depths from 0 to 2um (spherical shape), with a variety of sizes from 0.08 to 0.8 um diameter (spherical shape) and with a variety of shapes from horizontal ellipsoid to vertical ellipsoid (depth 0.5 um).
