Abstract:
Human aggression is a major worldwide health issue that brings negative effects to victims, perpetrators, and society. One of the areas that may be potentially variables for understanding aggression is self-esteem that can influence whether someone will display aggressive behaviour. Therefore, the aim of this study was to determine the relationship between the level of aggression and level of self-esteem among Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) Shah Alam student-athletes. This study is very important to determine the athlete’s aggression and self-esteem level based on the differences of genders and types of sport. Furthermore, the findings of this study may help in promoting a beneficial knowledge among coaches and athletes about aggression level and also self-esteem level toward maintaining and improving sports performance. A correlational study was selected in order to conduct this study. This correlational study was selected because this study was closely related to both descriptive and causal-comparative research. The instrument used for this study comprised of a 10-item Rosenberg SelfEsteem Scale (RSES) and 19-item of Aggression Questionnaire (AQ), which had been distributed in UiTM Shah Alam. The samples consisted of 260 UiTM Shah Alam athletes, included male and female, individual and team sports, age ranged between 18 until 26 years old. Independent t-test showed there was no significant difference between genders and types of sport on aggression level, p > 0.05. Result also showed that there was no significant difference on self-esteem between types of sport, p > 0.05. Meanwhile, a result found that there was a significant difference on self-esteem between genders, p < 0.05. Result also showed that there was a positive correlation between aggression and self-esteem among UiTM Shah Alam athletes, (r = 0.20, p < 0.05). Present findings indicated that athletes who had higher aggression level tend to have a higher level of self-esteem. Therefore, psychological skill training (PST) recommended as a better coping technique in order to promote better adaptation to the constraints of sports involvement.

Abstract:
Memorization of al-Quran is a practice that can improve one's ability of memorization, apart from empowering one's soul and spiritual aspect in the endeavour to raise new generations adorned with quality education and to embellish one's character. In implementing the government's aspiration to encourage the production of 12,500 professional huffaz from varieties of background expertise by 2050 as a part of Transformasi Nasional 50 (TN50), UiTM answers the call by nurturing approximately 105 students as of now, in Plus Tahfiz that is offered as a co-curriculum program. The involvement of students from different fields is a challenge to ensure they are able to complete their memorization syllabus prior to graduation. This research attempts to study the effects of al-Quran memorization practised on a daily basis towards the students' academic excellence and the improvement of the students' character. The methodology employed in this research is by distributing questionnaires. The findings of this research suggest that al-Quran memorization imprints a positive impact on students' academic excellence based on the analysis of students' current CGPA. The implication of this research proposed that al-Quran memorization should be granted more emphasis and should be integrated with the academic field because the practice of memorization of al-Quran contributes significantly to the students' academic excellence and the development of their character.

Abstract:
This project is regarding the development of a mobile application for rental equipment for UiTM Shah Alam Malay and Bumiputera students. The reason for the development of this project is to help the Malay and Bumiputera students to rent items and equipment they needed. Based on the previous study, most students in UiTM Shah Alam are those who have financial problems and came from a low-income family or household, known as B40. Therefore, this mobile application for rental equipment would be able to solve problems such as the inability in buying new items and belongings (or equipment). In some cases, students are required to have specific items to attend a one-time event without overspending and are unable to explore new hobbies due to financial limitations. As such, this project aims to develop an Android-based mobile application called Rent2U that can help UiTM Shah Alam students, especially those who come from a B40 family to rent items, and equipment they needed. The objectives of this project are to identify the requirements, to design and develop the equipment rental mobile applications for UiTM Shah Alam students. The chosen methodology for the development of this mobile application is Mobile Application Development Lifecycle (MADLC) and covered up until the testing phase only. The outcome of this project is the mobile application for rental equipment, which has features like geolocation to find nearby items and equipment for rentals, a search function to find items and equipment and push notifications to alert the users about the listings that have been created by them for rental. Hence, the significance of this project is that it can help the students in need to rent and lend items and equipment by providing them a platform to lend their belongings, and at the same time be able to rent items and equipment they like or need. For future enhancements, this application may include a variety of options for the users to pay such as online banking, and credit card, among others. In addition, this application may also include goods and equipment verification to avoid renting any dangerous items.

Abstract:
Abstract High development, urbanization, and industrial activity in urban areas contribute to greenhouse gases emission that increases ambient temperatures. These phenomena influence the hydrological cycle as it speeds up the rate of evaporation in water storage. Sufficient water resource is essential as it helps to grow social and economic activities in a country. The study developed three aluminium evaporation pan models with 225 mm diameter and 80 mm width to measure the evaporation in UiTM Shah Alam. Each pan was covered using ping pong balls as a floating cover with a different percentage of coverage. The percentage of coverage used in the pan models is 0% uncovered, 46.08% covered, and 92.16% covered condition. The observation lasted 12 hours, from 8.00 am to 8.00 pm. The 0% uncovered condition had the highest evaporation with 6 mm, followed by the 46.08% covered and 92.16% covered conditions with 3 mm and 2 mm, respectively. Next, the influence of temperature on the evaporation rate in the three conditions was also analysed. The provided floating cover reduces the effect of temperature on the rate of evaporation in urban area.

Abstract:
This paper analyzes the aerodynamic coefficients of a blended wing body, Baseline V which is equipped with 45Ëš sweep tail angle. Baseline V is one of the Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) Shah Alam Flight Test Technology Centre’s blended wing body designs that have unique configuration as it uses different NACA airfoil for its fuselage, body, wing root, midwing, wingtip, tail root, and tail tip. The intention of the comparison for three different size of wind tunnel model is to determine the similarity of the aerodynamics coefficients and the behaviour of the model itself. The wind tunnel experiments were conducted at three different wind tunnel locations: Universiti Teknologi Malaysia Skudai, UiTM Shah Alam and Universiti Pertahan Nasional Malaysia Kuala Lumpur, using 1:1 scale full model, 1:2 scale half model, and 2:7 scale half model, respectively. The data obtained are studied and plotted in term of lift coefficients, lift-to-drag ratio, and drag coefficients. The pitching angle for all experiments were varied between -10Ëš to +17Ëš. The blockage corrections have been applied to the data to obtain the actual performance of the aircraft. From the observations, the results show some similarity between those experiments, except for the lift-to-drag ratio of UPNM’s data which are slightly higher compared to others.Â

Abstract:
Abstract The evaporation rate varies according to temperature, humidity, and wind. The evaporation rate tends to be higher in the hot, dry months and lower in the wetter ones. This may affect the nation’s energy use, indoor air quality, and water availability. This study conducted experiments under three conditions—uncovered, partially, and fully covered to ascertain the evaporation rate at UiTM Shah Alam, Malaysia. Recycled materials such as bottle caps were used in the experiment. The study examined the evaporation rate at UiTM Shah Alam in Selangor. The study discovered that the uncovered surface area evaporated at the highest rates in the morning, noon, and afternoon due to direct solar exposure. As some or all of the surface was shielded from the sun’s rays, partially covered and fully covered surface areas had lower evaporation rates. It shows the evaporation rate for fully covered condition reduced 22 – 50 percent from uncovered condition. Meanwhile, evaporation rate for partially covered condition decreased by 10 – 17 percent compared to uncovered condition. The study offers important information about the variables influencing evaporation rate, which can be used to enhance understanding of evaporation processes and optimize evaporation in various applications. The findings may shed important light on the evaporation process and the variables that influence it, such as temperature, humidity, and cover material. The research results can be used to enhance building design and construction methods, increase building energy efficiency, and guide water management and conservation policies.

Abstract:
The concept of career decision self-efficacy has been a topic of discussion for a long time and remains an important concept up to this day. Career counselling is effective in helping students in their career development. The current study examined the relationship between career decision self-efficacy and vocational identity. We followed the expectations of the Social Cognitive Career Theory (SCCT) and hypothesized that there is a significant relationship between career decision self-efficacy and vocational identity. We also studied the differences between genders on the two variables and the effect of career decision self-efficacy on vocational identity. The sample of the study comprised of 243 Generation Z participants from UiTM Shah Alam. The finding shows that there are no differences between genders on the career decision self-efficacy and female and vocational identity and female, which finding is in contrast to previous findings. The result of the study also shows that there is a significant relationship between career decision self-efficacy and vocational identity. The last finding shows a statistically significant result where career decision self-efficacy contributes significantly to vocational identity and career decision-making self-efficacy explains 13 % of the variance in Vocational Identity. Therefore, this research provides information that can help to enhance students in the context of career counselling.

Abstract:
ICT is an important factor in supporting e-learning, especially in the post-pandemic period. However, ICT has also been found to have limitations in supporting e-learning. This study focuses on identifying the limitations of ICT support in pursuing e-learning and methods to address it at the higher education level. The final year student of Islamic studies at the Academy of Contemporary Islamic Studies, Universiti Teknologi MARA Shah Alam was involved as a respondent (n=87) after screening. The online questionnaire is used as an instrument of data collection as e-learning is still applied. The data is analyzed using IBM SPSS Statistics computer software. Friedman’s test results found a significant difference in the variable “Unsatisfactory internet access and coverage” (mean rank: 2.75) with χ2(3)=12.507, ρ=.006, and on the variable “Working in part-time jobs to accommodate the needs” (mean rank: 2.83) with χ2(3)=24.788, ρ=.000. This study suggests unsatisfactory internet access and coverage as a major factor in ICT limitations that is common in pursuing online learning among higher education students in UiTM Shah Alam. The students also had to work part-time jobs to accommodate this need. A qualitative approach, especially ethnography is recommended to be adapted to deepen the real situation based on the current reality of higher education students for future studies.

Abstract:
Coronavirus pandemic has led to changes in the teaching and learning landscape. Both lecturers and students must accommodate to the changes, where teaching and learning which used to be face to face learning, has now changed into online learning. This results in the various problems faced by both lecturers and students in online learning. Hence, many online platforms have been introduced to the field of education such as Google Classroom, Edmodo and Microsoft Teams. By pinning on the 12 factors in decomposed technology acceptance model (DTAM) (i.e., perceived usefulness, perceived cognitive absorption, perceived ease of use, perceived internet self-efficacy, perceived computer self-efficacy, interpersonal influence, external influence, information quality, service quality, system quality, confirmation, and satisfaction) which are suggested by Roca et al. 2006, this research aims to investigate students’ continuance intention to learn with Google Classroom (GC) in online classes. A 56-item questionnaire which covers the 12 factors of the decomposed technology acceptance model was administered to 242 undergraduate students from Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM); Puncak Alam and Shah Alam campuses. The statistical data of this research suggests that students’ continuance intention towards Google Classroom among UiTM students is high which is influenced by the aforementioned factors. From these findings, this research is hoped to provide a new insight on the effectiveness of using GC in providing continuous interest in online learning among students.

Abstract:
Since the opening of Universiti Teknologi MARA Shah Alam Campus (UiTM-SAC), the university has accommodated its students by providing free bus transportation around the campus. The buses are operated based on a specific time schedule. However, students often have to wait a long time for buses because the buses do not usually arrive on schedule. In addition, the bus schedule is manually controlled by an officer, which takes time, and the data can easily be lost. Hence, the goal of this research is to develop a bus tracking and monitoring system for the UiTM-SAC. Arduino node microcontroller unit and global positioning system (GPS) sensors were used to send and receive GPS location information. The data retrieved from these sensors were displayed on an organic light-emitting diode and stored in a web-based software spreadsheet. For the experimental test, only one bus was used for collecting and analysing data. Data were immediately presented on the user interface. The results indicate that the system was able to track and monitor the bus by providing the bus’s latitude, longitude and speed. The results also revealed some key factors that affect the time required for a bus to complete a route based on users’ demands at that time. The difference in demand was 76.2%, as most students use the UiTM bus service in the morning than in the evening. In conclusion, by using the proposed bus campus tracking and monitoring system, users can easily find the exact location of buses running at the UiTM-SAC

This work focuses on the preparation of electrospun Polyvinyl Alcohol (PVA) nanofibres of three different molecular weights. The electrospinning process parameters were varied in terms of the voltage and feed rate. Scanning Electron Microscopy technique was used to characterize the morphological structure of the electrospun PVA nanofibre. The results show that the average fibre diameter increased as the molecular weight of the polymer increased. The formation of beads occurs from the lowest molecular weight sample of 89K However, long, continuous and beaded-free fibres were obtained from the 125K and 205K polymer weight PVA. The results also suggest that higher spinning voltage and feed rate produce larger fibre diameter, respectively. Keywords : Polyvinyl Alcohol, nanofibres, molecular weight, electrospinningCorresponding Author:Khairunnadim Ahmad Sekak, Faculty of Applied Sciences, Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM), Shah Alam, 40450 Selangor Darul Ehsan.Email: nadim821@salam.uitm.edu.my

Abstract:
Power Quality disturbances problems have gained widespread interest worldwide due to the proliferation of power electronic load such as adjustable speed drives, computer, industrial drives, communication and medical equipments. This paper presents a technique based on wavelet and probabilistic neural network to detect and classify power quality disturbances, which are harmonic, voltage sag, swell and oscillatory transient. The power quality disturbances are obtained from the waveform data collected from premises, which include the UiTM Sarawak, Faculty of Science Computer in Shah Alam, Jati College, Menara UiTM, PP Seksyen 18 and Putra LRT. Reliable Power Meter is used for data monitoring and the data is further processed using the Microsoft Excel software. From the processed data, power quality disturbances are detected using the wavelet technique. After the disturbances being detected, it is then classified using the Probabilistic Neural Network. Sixty data has been chosen for the training of the Probabilistic Neural Network and ten data has been used for the testing of the neural network. The results are further interfaced using matlab script code. Results from the research have been very promising which proved that the wavelet technique and Probabilistic Neural Network is capable to be used for power quality disturbances detection and classification.

The Nihongo Partner Program or “Japanese Language Partner” is a program that sends native speakers to support the teaching and learning of Japanese overseas. The program is fully sponsored by The Japan Foundation. The aim of this program is to create an environment that motivates the students to learn Japanese. This study is based on a survey of the Nihongo Partner Program conducted on students and language lecturers at UiTM, Shah Alam. This study aims to investigate if there is a necessity for native speakers to be involved in the teaching and learning of Japanese among foreign language learners. Analysis of the results showed that both students and lecturers are in dire need of the Nihongo Partner Program to navigate the learning of the Japanese language through a variety of language learning activities. The involvement of native speaker increases students’ confidence and motivation to converse in Japanese. The program also provides opportunities for students to increase their Japanese language proficiency and lexical density. In addition, with the opportunity to interact with the native speakers, students and lecturers will have a better understanding of Japanese culture as they are able to observe and ask the native speakers. Involvement of native speakers is essential in teaching and learning of Japanese in UiTM.

Abstract:
The Mandarin language has gained currency in the Malaysian education landscape. Particularly in tertiary educational settings in Malaysia, it is common to find Malay students learning the Mandarin language. Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) is the largest university in Malaysia and it has the most number of Malay students learning Mandarin as a third language in the country. Almost all of the Malay students who study the Mandarin language at the university have no background in Mandarin. They are inevitably influenced by their mother tongue which is the Malay language. This paper aims to analyze Endocentric Mandarin phrasal errors commonly made by Malay students while studying Mandarin in UiTM. In addition, some teaching methods are also recommended to guide those involved in teaching and learning Mandarin. This study is conducted using a mixed method approach. Two research instruments were used in this study, that is question papers and interviews. 40 Malay students who were taking Introductory Mandarin Level II course in UiTM Shah Alam campus were chosen as the survey respondents. The results of the research revealed that there are 4 types of errors commonly made by Malay students in learning the Mandarin Endocentric Phrases, namely: (i) Omission of Measure Words, (ii) Reversed string order of Endocentric Phrases, (iii) Errors in Using Demonstrative Pronouns and (iv) Excess of the particle “de”. The most obvious mistake is the Omission of Measure Words and the Reversed string order of Endocentric Phrases due to the first language disruption. These errors have often resulted in structural and morphological inaccuracies.
