An analysis into the flexural strength of solid and laminated timber specimens under working conditions was conducted. Five hardwoods and five softwoods were investigated, namely: Mansonia, Mahogany, Orji, Ukpi, Ufi mmanu, White Afara, Owen, Melina, Akpu and Ubia. The dimensions of the wood specimens are 100mm×50mm×20mm. The wood samples were tested for flexural strength using a Universal Testing Tensile Machine. IntroductionChildren are at higher risk of medication errors due to the complexity of drug prescribing and administration in this patient group. Intravenous (IV) paracetamol overdose differs from overdose by ingestion as there is no enteral absorptive buffering. We provide the first national UK data focusing on paediatric IV paracetamol poisoning.MethodsAll telephone enquiries to the National Poisons Information Service between 2008 and 2021 regarding children less than 18 years old in the UK concerning IV paracetamol overdose were extracted from the UK Poisons Information Database (UKPID). Abstract:
Abstract In March 2020, the United Kingdom Primary Immunodeficiency Network (UKPIN) established a registry of cases to collate the outcomes of individuals with PID and SID following SARS-CoV-2 infection and treatment. A total of 310 cases of SARS-CoV-2 infection in individuals with PID or SID have now been reported in the UK. The overall mortality within the cohort was 17.7% (n = 55/310). Individuals with CVID demonstrated an infection fatality rate (IFR) of 18.3% (n = 17/93), individuals with PID receiving IgRT had an IFR of 16.3% (n = 26/159) and individuals with SID, an IFR of 27.2% (n = 25

BackgroundCommon Variable Immunodeficiency Disorders (CVID) encompass a spectrum of immunodeficiency characterised by recurrent infections and diverse non-infectious complications (NICs). This study aimed to describe the clinical features and variation in NICs in CVID with and without interstitial lung disease (ILD) from a large UK national registry population.MethodsRetrospective, cross-sectional data from a UK multicentre database (previously known as UKPIN), categorising patients into those with CVID-ILD and those with NICs related to CVID but without pulmonary involvement (CVID-EP; EP= ext

Background: Oxytocin is generally used in obstetric exercise as a uterotonic drug for induction and augmentation of labor and stays the drug of desire for facilitating uterine contractions all through vaginal and operative delivery. It is now spreading up to far-flung areas. The infusion method of oxytocin is protected in the caesarean area beneath spinal anaesthesia. Objective: This is to evaluate the hemodynamic modifications precipitated by oxytocin given as an I/V bolus or infusion to limit uterine bleeding in cesarean section.
