Abstract:
Gully erosion is a devastating form of soil degradation threatening environmental sustainability, socio-economic development, and human well-being worldwide. The Southeastern region of Nigeria, particularly Ukpor, is prone to gully erosion, which has resulted in the loss of infrastructure, agricultural land, and human settlements. While various factors contribute to gully erosion, the soil’s geotechnical properties remain an important aspect that has been given limited attention. Abstract Due to the difficulty that the compressive strength of cement slurries formulated with bentonite are not stable at elevated temperature conditions, in addition to other properties at high temperatures, Mucuna solannie commonly known as “Ukpo” was examined as an alternative. API standard procedures were employed throughout the laboratory measurements to determine overall rheological properties, compressive strength, thickening time, and free water of the extenders both at 150 °F (65.6 °C) and 200 °F (93.3 °C) BHCT. Mucuna solannie results gave compressive strength at 24 h as 952 psi (6

This study explored how job satisfaction influences employee performance among healthcare workers at General Hospital Ukpom Abak in Akwa Ibom State, Nigeria. The research was driven by growing concerns about declining staff morale and productivity within the public healthcare sector, largely attributed to ongoing human resource management issues. It pinpointed key challenges such as delayed staff promotions, insufficient recognition of employee efforts, and inadequately designed reward systems as major contributors to dissatisfaction and reduced work performance in the hospital. Cranial index is one of the most important variables for determining sexual dimorphism and of course racial differences. Parameters used in establishing cephalic index vary considerably depending on the age, sex, geographical habitat, ethnic background of the individuals involved and the methods employed. Such has not been documented in Calabar, especially with the use of advanced imaging modality such as the Computed Tomography (CT) scans. The use of legume seed flours as emulsifiers and flavouring agents in traditional soups is a function of the high level of their gum contents. The method of processing of legumes generally affects the physical behavior when applied to subsequent food processing. Generally, legume seed flours are obtained after some level of heat treatments (boiling and roasting) for a period of 10 min. Extraction of gums from tropical legume seeds has not been a common practice. This work was therefore designed to determine the effect of various processing methods on the physical properties of gum extracts of
