This research paper aims to study the lack of local grassroots initiatives in surfing communities by comparing Ukrainian and German contexts. Hence, a qualitative and inductive approach is used. This thesis presents the way the OUN-M’s newspaper Ukraïns’ke slovo framed the German occupation of Soviet Ukraine. Using a qualitative text analysis, this paper investigates sixty-six issues of the periodical, published in September-December 1941, in order to identify collective action framing that the OUN-M utilises to portray the Nazi occupation and elements of fascist ideology that are present in these frames. This thesis deals with German foreign policy on example of negotiations of Association Agreement between the EU and Ukraine in years 2007-2013. The purpose of this paper was to analyse German interests in these negotiations and to answer the question, if Germany acted more as a civilian or geoeconomic power.
