The shrine constituting the centre of spirituality was inseparable from the religious life of the Ukrainian people. The deportations of Ukrainians from the south-east of Poland in 1944–1947 exposed their churches to intentional and unintentional devastation. Polish nationality was dominant among the inhabitants of Poznań during the interwar period. Moreover, the German, Jewish and Ukrainian populations belonged to the national minorities. Research has shown that the share of suicides of national minorities in Poznań amounted to 7.7 percent. 40 people of German nationality, 13 people pf Jewish nationality and 10 people of Ukrainian nationality committed suicide. Abstract:
The article analyzes the influence of urban culture on the transformation of the way of life of Galician peasants in the interwar period. The author considers the changes in traditional clothing, emphasizing that the novelties of fashion were adopted primarily by rural youth. Instead, representatives of the intelligentsia (priests, teachers) criticized such an excessive fascination with fashion and called it the second enemy of the Ukrainian countryside after vodka.
