At the end of the 18th century – the beginning of the 19th century, the Hotin land (raya) was severely affected by migration processes. Many Ruthenian (Ukrainian) immigrants from the North Dniester (especially from Podolia) moved to this land. Most settled in Moldovan villages, but new villages (slobozii) were also established, populated only by Ukrainian immigrants. The anthroponymic analysis of the Russian census from 1774 shows us that the ethnic structure of the population of Hotin was very similar to the neighbouring land of Chernivtsi. «Incessant worry» - this phrase-meme actively «walks» on social networks and has already become part of the language of everyday life. It is usually used in a somewhat ironic sense. But at the same time, in my opinion, this irony really contains a deep understanding of «what is happiness in Ukrainian». Cordocentrism is considered one of the characteristic features of the Ukrainian mentality. And also antheism (kinship with the native land) and execution (dominance in the psyche of the «feminine principle», but is not synonymous with femininity). All these features have found their embodiment,

Current status of the problem. Land degradation is a serious environmental problem influenced by both natural and anthropogenic factors. Ukraine today is a military-technogenically tense region of Europe with negative consequences for the environment generally and the soil cover in particular. Given the fact that Ukrainian agriculture is a key factor in global food supply (the World Food Program receives 40% of its wheat from Ukraine), the problem takes on a global significance. Land degradation is defined as the process of deteriorating land quality, reducing its fertility, and decreasing the

The article investigates the economic efficiency of farms in the USSR in the 20's of the twentieth century. Much attention is paid to the study of socio-economic indicators, identifying opportunities to meet production farms and their welfare needs. The author argues that the farms in the USSR in the 20's of the twentieth century were characterized by rather sad indicators of economic efficiency, since a large number of households do not even have available land, livestock, tools and more. On the one hand this is due to the crisis of the early 20's. Caused by the devastating effects of war, re

The author emphasizes the importance of memoirs for the study of psychology and ideological views of the Ukrainian peasantry, which made the bulk of the population, whose support the representatives of the pro-government and opposition forces fought for. It is stated, that, on the one hand, monarchical views were preserved and, on the other hand, their synthesis with new ideas inspired by the "city" took place. Moreover, the emergence of a young generation of politically active peasants, agrarian leaders, deprived of illusions about the old regime is pointed to. It is proved that the peasants

For years, Estonia was an outlier in the European populist Radical Right scene, with no party being elected to parliament. This changed with the electoral breakthrough of the Estonian Conservative People’s Party (EKRE) in 2015. Currently, EKRE is the second-most popular party in Estonia, with roughly 20% support and is expected to achieve a record result in the general election in March 2023. Russia’s invasion of Ukraine has created opportunities and challenges for EKRE to increase its support. The war has offered EKRE fresh opportunities on several fronts.
