Abstract:
Resistance to aryloxyphenoxypropionate and cyclohexanedione herbicides was identified in four wild oat populations from western Canada. Populations UM1, UM2, and UM3 originated from northwestern Manitoba and UM33 from south-central Saskatchewan. Field histories indicated that these populations were exposed to repeated applications of diclofop-methyl and sethoxydim over the previous 10 yr. The populations differed in their levels and patterns of cross-resistance to these and five other acetyl-CoA carboxylase inhibitors (ACCase inhibitors). UM1, UM2, and UM3 were resistant to diclofop-methyl, fenoxaprop-p-ethyl, and sethoxydim. In contrast, UM33 was resistant to the aryloxyphenoxy propionate herbicides but not to sethoxydim. The dose of sethoxydim required to reduce growth of UM1 by 50% was 150 times greater than for a susceptible population (UM5) or UM33 based on shoot dry matter reductions 21 d after treatment. This population differed from UM2 and UM3 that had R/S ratios of less than 10. In the field UM1 also exhibited a very high level of resistance to sethoxydim. In contrast to susceptible plants that were killed at the recommended dosage, shoot dry matter of resistant plants treated at eight times the recommended dosage was reduced by only 27%. In growth chamber experiments none of the four populations was cross-resistant to herbicides from five different chemical families.

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh salinitas yang berbeda terhadap waktu penyerapan kuning telur larva ikan bawal bintang (Tranchinotus blochii).Penelitian ini menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) 3 perlakuan, yaitu A (26 ppt), B (28 ppt), C (30 ppt) dengan 3 kali ulangan pada tiap perlakuan. Hasil penelitian didapatkan bahwa perlakuan C (30 ppt) memiliki waktu penyerapan kuning telur terbaik yaitu 48,05 jam, volume kuning telur 9.185.681 um3, laju penyerapan kuning telur 687.962 um3/jam. Kesimpulan penelitian adalah perlakuan C (salinitas 30 ppt) dapat mempercepat waktu penyerapan kuning telur larva ikan bawal bintang (48,05 jam) dan pembentukan organ tubuh (awal terbentuk jam ke 0 dan sempurna jam ke 42)

Abstract:
Fruits and vegetables are important source of livelihood to farmers and major horticulture sub sector with high contribution to agricultural GDP in Kenya. This study was conducted to determine diversity and abundance of frugivorous fruit flies in Kandara sub county, Murang’a County in 2018, at a place where first area of low pest population was created in Kenya for Bactrocera dorsalis. Three sets of pheromone traps (Methyl-Eugenol, Cuelure and Trimedlure) were set in six trap stations within farmers’ orchards in four agro-ecological zones (LH1 (Lower Highland Zone), UM1 (Upper Mid-land Zone), UM2, and UM3). The trap catch data was collected fortnightly and data analyzed. Six fruit flies species namely; Bactrocera dorsalis, Ceratitis cosyra, Ceratitis capitata, Zeugodacus cucurbitae, Dacus bivittatus and Perilampsis sp were identified. Bactrocera dorsalis population was significantly (P<.001) different across the four agro-ecologies with lowest densities at LH1 and highest at UM3. Likewise, C. capitata recorded significant (P=0.042) difference densities across the agro-ecological zones, but no significant (P=0.386) difference was recorded for C. cosyra across the agro-ecological zones. Further, there was significant (P=0.012) difference in the number of Perilampsis sp across the agro-ecologies with the highest number recorded in UM1. Both Z. cucurbitae (P=0.061) and D. bivittatus (P=0.056) had low abundance across the agro-ecologies. The peak infestation period differed across the various fruit fly species, whereby B. dorsalis peaked in May, C. capitata in February and C. cosyra in January. The study shows that abundance for the fruit flies is probably related to their preferred hostplant and the weather patterns. We recommend continuous monitoring and intensifying trapping activities during peak periods in order to control the pest and protect fruits from damage. Farmers should be trained on the use of pheromone traps to reduce over-reliance on pesticides. Key words: Agro-ecologies, Bactrocera dorsalis, Ceratitis sp, fruit fly density, Pheromone

RESUMO O presente trabalho teve como objetivo monitorar a dispersão de plumas de efluentes provenientes dos emissários submarinos de Praia Grande e do Rio Itanhaém, por meio do processamento do modelo Delft3D (módulos hidrodinâmico e de qualidade da água) e do modelo Visual Plumes (módulo UM3). A modelagem de campo próximo indicou que as correntes geradas pelo vento foram mais eficientes do que as correntes de maré na diluição inicial das plumas dos emissários; e a modelagem de campo distante, validada qualitativamente, demonstrou que as concentrações dos potenciais poluentes de todas as plumas simuladas não ultrapassam os limites máximos estabelecidos pelo Conselho Nacional do Meio Ambiente quando essas plumas atingem as praias da região de estudo.

Abstract:
Abstract The article describes the technology of NOx emission abatement by SNCR method. The scope of research included CDF simulations as well as design and construction of the pilot plant and tests of NOx reduction by urea in the plant located in industrial pulverized-coal fired boiler. The key step of research was to determine the appropriate temperature window for the SNCR process. The proposed solution of the location of injection lances in the combustion chamber enabled to achieve over a 30% reduction of NOx. It is possible to achieve higher effectiveness of the proposed SNCR technology and meet the required emission standards via providing prior reduction of NOx to the level of 350 mg/um3 using the primary methods.

Abstract:
This paper describes parallel histogram modification techniques with embedded morphological preprocessing methods within the CNN-UM framework. The procedure is formulated in terms of nonlinear partial differential equations (PDE) and approximated through finite differences in space, resulting in coupled nonlinear ordinary differential equations (ODE). The I/O mapping of the system (containing both local and global couplings) can be calculated by a complex analogic (analog and logic) algorithm executed on a stored program nonlinear array processor, called the cellular nonlinear network universal machine (CNN-UM3). We describe and illustrate how the implementation of the algorithm results in an adaptive multi-thresholding scheme when histogram modification is combined with embedded morphological processing at a finite (low) number of gray-scale levels. This has obvious advantages if the further processing steps are segmentation and/or recognition. Experimental results processing real-life and echocardiography images are measured on different hardware/software platforms, including a 64 × 64 CNN-UM chip (ACE4k6,17).

Oleh karena itu, pada beberapa skim pengabdian kepada masyarakat peningkatan sektor kewirausahaan atau UMKM digalakkan untuk dapat dikembangankan kepada masyarakat. Harapannya, dengan munculnya pewirausaha-pewirausaha baru, sektor ekonomi masyarakat tumbuh dan semakin mapan, maka sektor lainya seperti pendidikan dan kesehatan dapat semakin terjamin. Berbagai pihak diharapkan menjadi agent of change bagi peningkatan di sektor ekonomi dan UMKM ini. Melalui program KKN PPM, tim Universitas Muhammadiyah Metro mencoba menjadi agen untuk menumbuhkan pewirausaha-pewirausaha baru dengan target khusus yaitu pemuda-pemudi di Kampung Pujokerto Kecamatan Trimurjo Lampung Tengah. Alasan dipilihnya lokasi ini adalah karena sebagian besar pemuda dan pemudi di Kampung ini merupakan petani turun temurun, yang dipandang dari sisi orientasi kewirausahaannya masih cukup rendah. Metode yang dilaksanakan pada pengabdian ini adalah pendekatan secara personal, FGD, studi banding, dan pelaksanaan kewirausahaan. Hasil pengabdiannya adalah terbentuknya kelompok kewirsausahaan berbasis pemuda yang diberinama Usaha Muda Mudi Mandiri (UM3) dan terciptanya usaha bagi kelompok berupa budi daya pembesaran dan pembenihan ikan lele, serta pelatihan pembuatan souvenir pernikahan berbahan Tali Kur.Kata Kunci: Kewirausahaan berbasis Pemuda, Kelompok wirausaha pemuda, KKN PPMAbstrakOne of the main agendas for national development is the economic sector, especially entrepreneurship. Therefore, in some community service schemes, the entrepreneurship sector or MSME sector enhancement is encouraged so that it can be developed in the community. The hope is that with the emergence of new entrepreneurs, the economic sector of society will grow and become more established, so that other sectors such as education and health can be more secure. Various parties are expected to become agents of change for improvement in the economic sector and MSMEs. Through the KKN PPM program, the University of Muhammadiyah Metro team tries to become an agent to grow new entrepreneurs with a special target, namely young people in Pujokerto Village, Trimurjo District, Central Lampung. The reason for choosing this location is because most of the youth and girls in this village are hereditary farmers, which is considered from the perspective of their entrepreneurial orientation is still quite low. The method used in this service is a personal approach, FGD, comparative studies, and the implementation of entrepreneurship. Tor putitora (mean wt., 86.69±1.26 g, mean total length, 19.73±0.40 cm) were exposed for 30 days to varying concentrations (3, 6, 12, and 24 ml/L) of paper mill effluent with a view to check the haematological changes. Red blood cell count (RBCC), haemoglobin (Hb), packed cell volume (PCV), mean corpuscular volume (MCV), mean corpuscular haemoglobin (MCH), mean corpuscular haemoglobin content (MCHC), white blood cell count (WBCC), neutrophils, monocytes and small lymphocytes were 2.17±0.01‐ 1.90±0.01×106/mm3, 8.8±0.02‐6.5±0.02 g%, 27.34±0.24‐27.02±0.28%, 126.28±1.78‐123.04±1.82 um3, 41.80±0.12‐38.40±0.71 pg, 32.42±0.08‐ 28.45±0.08 g%, 13.16±0.28‐16.19±0.23×103/mm3, 10.36±0.33‐5.19±0.26%, 5.87±0.25‐4.17±0.26% and 83.08±1.27‐89.24±1.25% respectively. After 30 days of exposure RBCC, Hb, MCV and MCHC decreased significantly (p<0.05) at 24 ml/L, whereas increasing trend in WBCC at all concentrations has been observed. Pathological alterations of erythrocytes in blood smears included deformation sticking, lysis and abnormal presence of senile erythrocytes were clearly observed in T. putitora exposed to paper mill effluent. These changes might be attributed to structural damage of RBC membranes resulting in haemolysis and destruction in haemoglobin production. Elevation in WBCC could be due to stimulation of immune system in response to tissue damage caused by paper mill effluent. This study therefore gives an insightinto toxic effect of the paper mill effluent on T. putitora.

Abstract:
Currently, the US Environmental Protection Agency primarily regulates the discharge of dissolved nitrogen and phosphorous from wastewater treatment plants in the United States. A recent study has shown that the treated effluent of many plants contains concentrations of dissolved carbon dioxide well above the expected theoretical equilibrium concentration of 0.6 mg/L, indicating that carbon dioxide may have been overlooked as a possible pollutant in receiving waters. For this reason, it is necessary to examine the possible presence of a discharge plume containing high levels of dissolved CO2 downstream from the outfall of a major wastewater treatment plant in Tampa, Florida. To examine this possibility, discharge data at the Howard F. Curren Advanced Wastewater Treatment Plant was collected over a two-week period and fed into the UM3 submerged discharge model to simulate discharge conditions at peak ebb tide. In all, five separate runs of the model were performed and compared to examine plume rise, spreading rate, average dissolved CO2 concentration, and plume path. The model predicts that, for this scenario, the plume rises fairly rapidly and is also quickly diluted to near-ambient concentrations of dissolved carbon dioxide within a short distance of being discharged. While this would seem to indicate that the effects of Howard F. Curren on Tampa Bay, in terms of dissolved CO2, are negligible major limitations of the UM3 model make it difficult to say this with a great deal of certainty.

Este trabalho foi desenvolvido segundo um projecto denominado Identificação e caracterização de classes de escolas de sucesso (Refª FCG SEB07P), que tinha como objectivos principais identificar escolas de sucesso, segundo uma definição própria do projecto; caracterizar estas escolas de sucesso, identificando factores organizacionais e de funcionamento comuns; e perceber se alguns dos factores identificados promovem o sucesso escolar. Com este trabalho pretende-se auxiliar este projecto caracterizando a cultura de uma das escolas identificadas como sendo de sucesso, de forma a poder-se reconhecer factores que podem ser promotores do sucesso escolar. Neste sentido, foi realizado um estudo de caso à escola seleccionada onde foram realizadas entrevistas a uma fracção da comunidade escolar, que se tentou ser o mais representativo possível, para além de visitas guiadas às instalações da escola. Com esta metodologia de investigação pretendeu-se estar em contacto mais directo e presencial com a comunidade escolar e desta forma poder observar, reconhecer e descrever com observações reais, a identidade da cultura desta escola. Neste trabalho identificaram-se factores singulares da cultura desta escola que podem ser interpretados como promotores do sucesso

Neste trabalho é apresentado um método de refinamento para especificações de sistemas embarcados, baseado na linguagem de especificação gráfica UML-RT e na linguagem de especificação formal CSP-OZ. A linguagem UML-RT é utilizada para descrever a arquitetura de sistemas de tempo real distribuídos e esses mapeados para uma especificação formal através de CSP-OZ. A linguagem de especificação formal CSP-OZ é a combinação da linguagem orientada a objetos Object-Z e a algebra de processos CSP, que descreve o comportamento de processos concorrentes. O método de refinamento proposto é baseado na integração de dois métodos: o de bi-simulação, para refinar a parte comportamental da especificação descrita por CSP; e o de equivalência de especificações, para refinar as estruturas de dados descritas por Object-Z, permitindo assim que características de orientação a objetos possam ser utilizadas. Com o método proposto é possível refinar especificações e, conseqüentemente, verificá-las com sua implementação. O desenvolvimento desse método é rigoroso, incluindo a definição formal para um metamodelo da UML-RT. Um exemplo detalhado é apresentado no final deste trabalho.
In this work, a method of refinement of embedded systems specifications based on the graphical specification language UML-RT and the formal specification CSP-OZ is introduced. The UML-RT is used to model real time distributed architecture systems and these are mapped onto formal specifications using CSP-OZ. The CSP-OZ formal specification language is a combination of the state-based object oriented language Object-Z and the CSP process algebra that describes behavioral models of concurrent processes. The rationale of the proposed refinement method is twofold, the use of bisimulation to refine the behavioral part and the specification matching algorithm to refine the state-based part, supporting object-oriented characteristics. Using this result, an equivalence between the specification-matching algorithm and simulation rules is showed. Using the proposed method it is possible to refine CSP-OZ specifications and verify them against their implementations. The development of the proposed refinement method is rigorous, including a formal definition for a UML-RT metamodel. A detailed study case is given at the end of this work.

The purpose of this study was evaluate the efficiency and effectiveness of being strategic tool, applied to Castrol Brazil, to make possible to conduct the company towards the needed changes facing the scenery that it was going through of being acquired by British Petroleum. Besides contributing to the administration of this changing process, providing a favorable atmosphere to motivation, synergy and mobilization of all employees facing the results maintenance, also contributed to the implementation of its sustainable development policy, via a solid culture of corporative social responsibility. Also, it doesn¿t present itself as a directive and exclusive tool, only applicable to the described reality, but adaptable and that could be used in several merger and acquisition processes, enabling the companies to be acquired the cleaned understanding of the mission and the corporative vision, the faster incorporation of the new values and the acquisition of the best results in short and medium terms. The methodology used was descriptive, explanatory and applied, making use of documental, bibliographical means, study of cases and mainly participative, by total interaction of the researcher in the context of this study
O objetivo deste estudo foi avaliar a eficiência e a eficácia da ferramenta estratégica SER, aplicada na Castrol Brasil, possibilitando conduzir a empresa rumo as necessárias mudanças frente ao novo cenário que atravessava, de ser adquirida pela British Petroleum. Além de contribuir para a gestão deste processo de transição, proporcionando uma ambientação favorável à motivação, sinergia e mobilização de todos os funcionários frente a manutenção de resultados, também contribuiu para a implantação de sua política de desenvolvimento sustentável, via uma consistente cultura de responsabilidade social corporativa. Também não se apresenta como uma ferramenta diretiva e exclusiva, só aplicável a realidade descrita, mas adaptável e que poderá ser utilizada em diversos processos de fusões e aquisições, possibilitando as empresas a serem adquiridas o entendimento apurado da missão e da visão corporativa, a incorporação mais rápida dos novos valores e a obtenção dos melhores resultados em curto e médio prazos. A metodologia utilizada foi descritiva, explicativa e aplicada utilizando-se dos meios, documental, bibliográfica, estudo de caso e principalmente participante, pela total interação do pesquisador no contexto deste estudo.

Abstract:
Com um alto índice de doentes crônicos, um aumento constante da população idosa (podendo apresentar incapacidade cognitiva) e uma alta taxa de não letrados no Brasil se tornam relevante os estudos para ajudar essa população, principalmente, em relação a saúde e longevidade, a fim de mudar o perfil da morbimortalidade. O trabalho visa identificar através da literatura científica os empecilhos que levam a população idosa a seguir corretamente uma prescrição medicamentosa em horário correto com o intuito de avaliar a necessidade de desenvolver um material inovador para a saúde. A investigação teórica foi realizada por uma pesquisa de caráter descritivo e exploratório, sendo uma revisão de literatura. Conclui-se que através da literatura científica os empecilhos que levam a população idosa a seguir corretamente uma prescrição medicamentosa com os remédios e horário correto. A revisão da literatura evidenciou a necessidade de ajudar a população idosa com o desenvolvimento de um material inovador para a saúde.

Abstract:
Visando desenvolver produtos que apresentem uma boa aceitabilidade pelos consumidores, a análise sensorial é uma ferramenta de pesquisa de grande importância, uma vez que atualmente a população em geral tem se tornado cada vez mais rigorosa quanto a qualidade e inovação de produtos alimentícios. Visto isso, o brigadeiro é um doce brasileiro que apresenta uma boa aceitação, encontrado de diferentes formas no mercado. O desenvolvimento de doces com adição de bebidas alcoólicas pode ser um diferencial para os consumidores. Visto isso, o objetivo do trabalho foi desenvolver e avaliar a composição de um brigadeiro branco de caipirinha utilizando a ferramenta de planejamento fatorial para avaliação da resposta. Para isso foram determinados como fatores do planejamento a quantidade de cachaça (variando de 16 a 22%) e de essência de limão (variando de 0,8 a 1,6%) na formulação, utilizando um planejamento fatorial 2², totalizando 4 formulações. A análise sensorial foi aplicada em um painel sensorial não treinado de 96 participantes. Para isso foram utilizados como atributos sensoriais aparência, sabor, textura, aroma e avaliação global, com uma escala hedônica de 9 pontos, assim como intenção de compra do produto, com uma escala hedônica de 5 pontos. Foi verificado que a amostra F01 (16% de cachaça e 0,8% de essência de limão) apresentando resultados favoráveis em 4 dos 5 atributos avaliados, sendo então a formulação com melhor índice de aceitação pelos provadores. De acordo com os resultados, o brigadeiro de caipirinha teve uma boa aceitabilidade em relação aos parâmetros analisados, apresentando a maioria de suas médias acima do ponto 7 da escala hedônica (gostei regularmente). De modo geral o brigadeiro branco de caipirinha se mostrou um produto com um promissor potencial de mercado, em que mesmo a amostra com menor aceitabilidade apresentou resultados satisfatórios de um produto de boa qualidade e bem aceito na análise sensorial executada.

Este artigo apresenta a influência do clima organizacional no ambiente de trabalho de uma empresa de construção civil. Desta forma, realiza-se uma abordagem sobre o clima organizacional como fator de competitividade discutindo os efeitos decorrentes da falta de motivação, como contratação e treinamento de pessoal e os gastos desnecessários decorrentes desta movimentação de pessoal. O estudo discorre sobre a relevância do clima organizacional como uma variável de crescente importância na medida em que proporciona um ambiente de trabalho saudável e produtivo, bem como bom relacionamento interpessoal e influência do grupo, nível de satisfação das necessidades pessoais, recompensas e incentivos financeiros e o próprio conhecimento inerente a natureza das atividades exercidas. Como metodologia utiliza-se a pesquisa descritiva e exploratória por meio de fontes bibliográficas em livros, artigos e periódicos, visando analisar o clima organizacional das pessoas em períodos de crises econômicas. Utiliza-se ainda um estudo de caso em uma empresa de construção civil, realizando uma pesquisa de campo mediante a coleta de dados, aplicando um questionário de 22 questões, visando obter-se o entendimento sobre as variáveis da pesquisa. Diante disso, os resultados esperados estão relacionados para uma revisão bibliográfica sobre a importância do clima organizacional visando um ambiente de trabalho mais saudável, visando alcançar a competitividade da empresa e a lucratividade dos negócios.

Abstract:
A escola faz parte do dia a dia dos alunos e possui um importante papel na construção de valores morais e cidadãos, o que inclui a temática relacionada à diversidade sexual. Este trabalho apresenta atividades de estágio com pesquisa sobre esse tema em uma disciplina da Universidade de São Paulo, realizadas de modo remoto em 2020, durante a pandemia da Covid-19. Foi desenvolvida uma aula interativa sobre diversidade sexual e de gênero, aplicada no Ensino Médio de uma escola particular em São Paulo. Um dia antes da aula, aplicamos um questionário para alunos do 1º, 2º e 3º anos do Ensino Médio, com objetivo de conhecer a familiaridade dos alunos com conceitos ligados ao contexto LGBTQIA+ político e social. Abstract:
Um dos principais problemas da UML é a imprecisão para representar o conceito de contexto, além de ser rígida para incorporar novos modelos. Da mesma forma, as ferramentas de modelagem atuais não dão suporte à representação e à validação de modelos de contexto. Nesse âmbito, o trabalho propõe uma extensão da UML para modelagem de contexto, a qual visa não só permitir a representação e validação dos principais aspectos de contexto, como também desenvolver um ambiente de modelagem específico de domínio. Com isso, espera-se permitir uma modelagem mais adequada para o contexto, auxiliando no desenvolvimento de sistemas cientes de contexto.

Abstract:
A modelagem de processos de negócio ajuda a entender e identificar atividades realizadas por uma organização, as quais podem ser usadas como fonte de requisitos para a modelagem de sistemas. Ela também pode ser usada para derivar serviços candidatos para apoiarem esses requisitos. Entretanto, gerenciar informações entre modelos com diferentes níveis de abstração não é uma tarefa simples. Vários trabalhos foram propostos com o objetivo de resolver este problema através do uso de técnicas de derivação de serviço através de processos de negócios. Este artigo apresenta um método para auxiliar a derivação de serviços dos processos de negócio e utiliza uma abordagem Dirigida a Modelos e heurísticas de forma a obter um modelo de serviços capaz de gerar código. A abordagem é dividida em duas fases. Na primeira fase, um processo de negócio, modelado em BPMN, é transformado em um diagrama de atividades UML. Na segunda fase, o modelo UML é transformado em um modelo SoaML.
