Bio-physical signal measurement tools embedded in clothing are becoming a viable alternative in mobile health monitoring systems, particularly Wearable Electronic Textile-based Systems (WETS). To assure clinical viability, utilizing flexible and inconspicuous conductive media that can acquire and transmit reliable signals while assuring signal durability and biocompatibility are particularly important when developing WETS for medical applications. To accomplish this task, conductive threads are emerging as an appropriate electrical medium for health monitoring garments. However, little has been studied on the behavior of these conductive threads under various conditions. We report here the electrical conductive properties of specific conductive threads under two conditions: (i) as sewn configurations onto a textile substrate with different stitch types and (ii) as independent strands under controlled extension independent from a sewing machine. Statistical results showed that the stitch class and thread location significantly influenced the electrical resistance of the conductive thread, revealing the chain stitch to provide resistance even lower than the un-stitched conductive thread. In addition, under controlled extension all three of the conductive threads exhibited both a hysteresis and a stress-relaxation effect. These are important phenomena to examine when conductive threads are incorporated into WETS because the choice of stitch type will influence the strength of the signals received and transmitted, while the wearers’ body movements will cause the threads to encounter multi-axial stretch. Knowing the influence of stitch type, stretch, and relaxation on conductive thread resistance will inform objective design and manufacturing decisions for developing clinical-grade textile-based electrical circuits for medical applications.

The guiding thread of this paper is that the problem of Latin American philosophy must be considered as a problem of metaphilosophy, i. e. a reflection on the conditions of the practice of philosophy in Latin American countries. The author claims that such practice has been dominated by two models, the model of modernization, and the model of authenticity. In his view, these models do not respond any more to the reality of philosophy in the region. He therefore proposes a new model, the dialogical, as a way to critically build philosophical traditions and communities in Latin American.

So, it is necessary to have a good optimized boiler to generate power in thermal power plants. The coal fed in should be completely utilized for combustion as the coal is imported at a high rate. But the amount of un-burnt carbon found in the bottom ash slips down the efficiency of a boiler. Here we are going to analyses the causes for more number of un-burnt in bottom ash and methodology to reduce it thereby the efficiency of the boiler gets increased.

Background: The objective was to compare the difference between removing vicryl suture thread after skin healing or burry the knots and leaving it to be absorbed in situ, after subcuticular skin closure of Pfannesteil incisions.Methods: Prospective, randomized controlled trial included 449 eligible participants were prospectively recruited between July 2016 and June 2017. All selected patients had a pfannenstial incision with subcuticular skin closure using 2-0 absorbable vicryl stiches (for primary caesarean section or extra peritoneal surgical approach to the prostate, bladder and distal ureters). The left side knot was buried under the skin edge and a knot in the midline and the right edge was made. After 10 days postoperative, the right half of the stitch thread and the two knots were removed, and the left half of the thread was left in situ. Patients were observed for any complication at time of stitch removal, after one month and after 6 months' post-operative.Results: Wound infection rate, hypertrophic scars, keloids and skin itching were significantly higher in the un-removed wound sides while skin dehiscence was significantly higher in the removed wound sides.Conclusions: Leaving behind absorbable suture material after wound healing -when used in subcuticular pfannenstial skin closure- is associated with increased rates of wound infection, hypertrophic scars, itching and keloids, which of course overweight any known benefits of the technique.

El hilo conductor desde una perspectiva analítica y temática es el tema del cuerpo, el concepto de Disci-plina Somática y la historia local; ejes centrales para explorar los cambios que produjeron la agroindustrialización y los cambios administrativos en la empresa Manuelita S. El estudio de la memoria en roedores ha tenido un desarrollo amplio gracias al laberinto creado por Carol Barnes hacia los años 80 del siglo XX. Con esta motivación, en la Universidad El Bosque, Bogotá, Colombia, se desarrolló un laberinto circular de Barnes (LCB) donde se han aplicado diferentes experimentos que emulan el movimiento de una rata como actividad típica de laboratorio para pruebas de memoria; de acuerdo con los resultados obtenidos, se ha pretendido cuantificar si la ejecución de estímulos (sonoros o visuales) afecta en la memoria espacial del roedor y en qué medida. Por lo anterior, el presente trabajo muestra el diseño e implementación de un sistema de control que registra el mapeo del roedor en el experimento, activa módulos sonoros y lumínicos en tiempo real y garantiza la compatibilidad con el software desarrollado (BarnesMaze 2.0). Se destaca del diseño e implementación de BarnesMaze -basado en la plataforma libre Java- que realiza procesamiento de imágenes, lectura de sensores, lectura de tiempo o cronómetro, cálculo de distancia, cálculo del número de huecos de error, y activación de estímulos lumínicos y sonoros ecazmente y en tiempo real a través del protocolo multihilos (Thread) del procesador del PC.

Android is a standard and popular platform of various smart phone. Security thread is a major problem to smart phone. File system event monitoring is essential for many types of programs ranging from file managers to security tools. In this paper, we make research on file system event monitoring. Our approach involves file nodes monitor by Android API and Linux native system call. We compare different features between them. It shows that each method has its benefit and limitation. Linux system calls method outperforms API in flexibility and scalability. But it has its un-convenience to user for its page alignment. A comprehensive method is proposed to take advantage of significant performance gains.

This article aims to approach the school experiences of 13 students with disabilities. It corresponds to a cross, synchronous and non experimental study, whose scope is mainly descriptive. The data collection was carried out through a semi-structured interview and transcribed from audio recordings to make a category analysis. The main results showed that in the case of students who were born with disabilities, the fact that an institution was inclusive turned out essential for them to have adequate transit through the educational system and thus become apt for higher education. The combination disability-inclusion-right to education-higher education is what this paper aimed to weave, trying to follow as thread or anchor, the previous school experiences of students with disabilities. We recognize that an adequate, inclusive, positive experience besides a subjective construction of the body and disability by family members, become important conditions to access schooling. Education is a right, therefore it can not be seen as an act of charity; it should be required as a quality practice.

Precisamente, la crisis económica y financiera permite ser contada, desde todos los puntos de vista, como un tipo de relato sobre el nivel de tensión federal existente, que se va a ver reflejado en los pronunciamientos de los más altos portavoces judiciales, que juegan aquí un papel destacado. Un claro ejemplo de esta tensión se analiza en este trabajo, donde, teniendo como telón de fondo la controversia que surgió entre el Tribunal Constitucional Federal alemán y el Tribunal de Justicia de la Unión Europea al hilo de analizar la legitimidad de un Programa del Banco Central Europeo destinado a combatir la crisis, se plantean cuestiones relacionadas con la eficacia de los controles constitucionales nacionales en los tiempos de crisis europea.The crisis places the Law before litmus tests. Precisely, the economic and financial crisis can be counted from all points of view as a type of story about the existing federal level of tension, which will be reflected in the pronouncements of the highest judicial spokesmen, who play here a leading role. A clear example of this tension is analyzed in this paper, where, having as background the controversy that arose between the German Federal Constitutional Court and the Court of Justice of the European Union in the thread of analyzing the legitimacy of a Programm of the Central Bank of European Union to combat the crisis, questions are raised regarding the effectiveness of national constitutional checks in times of European crisis.

Resumen. El propósito de este artículo es mostrar en qué medida, las complejas relaciones entre la tercera ola y el feminismo precedente provienen de aceptar una versión monolítica y creada ex profeso de la segunda ola. Nuestro recorrido parte de un análisis del término postfeminismo, delimitando su polisemia en dos versiones, la popular y la filosófica. Tras este proceso de desambiguación, analizaremos las narrativas fundacionales de la tercera ola con el objetivo de poner en evidencia algunas de sus características fundamentales y analizar en qué medida, es deudora de una versión distorsionada de la segunda ola. Este análisis nos llevará a analizar la relectura realizada por Naomi Wolf y las dificultades que plantea su nueva versión del feminismo – lo que dio en llamar “feminismo del poder”. Intentaremos mostrar cómo la aceptación de esta imagen creada ad hoc de la segunda ola conlleva consecuencias no deseadas para la tercera ola, ¿qué pasa con los feminismos negros y mestizos? ¿Su exclusión no lleva a incurrir en el mismo error al que se acusa a la segunda ola? Para finalizar, intentaremos dar cuenta de las meta-polémicas que surgen dentro del feminismo de la tercera ola. Para ello, tomaremos como hilo conductor el movimiento hip-hop, un movimiento suburbial de raíces africanas y afroamericanas vinculado al surgimiento de la tercera ola.Palabras clave: segunda ola, post-feminismo, tercera ola.Abstract. The purpose of this article is to show how the complex relationships between the third wave and the preceding feminism come from accepting a monolithic version created on the second wave. We begin by analyzing the term postfeminism, delimiting the term polysemy in its popular sense and its philosophical sense. After this process of disambiguation, we will analyze the foundational narratives of the third wave with the objective of highlighting some of its fundamental characteristics and analyzing to what extent it is debtor of a distorted version of the second wave. This analysis will lead us to analyze the rereading of Naomi Wolf and the difficulties of her new version of feminism - what she called “feminism of power”. We will try to show how the acceptance of this created ad hoc image of the second wave carries unintended consequences for the third wave, what about black and mestizo feminisms? Does not their exclusion lead to incurring the same error as that accused of the second wave? To conclude, we will attempt to account for the meta-polemics that arise within the feminism of the third wave. To do this, we will take as a common thread the hip-hop movement, a suburbia movement of African and African American roots linked to the emergence of the third wave.Keywords: second wave, post-feminism, third wave.

Abstract The recent Meltdown and Spectre vulnerabilities have highlighted a very present and real threat in the on-chip memory cache units which can ultimately provide a hidden state, albeit only readable via memory timing instructions [Kocher, P.—Genkin, D.— Gruss, D.— Haas, W.—Hamburg, M.—Lipp, M.–Mangard, S.—Prescher, T.—Schwarz, M.—Yarom, Y.: Spectre attacks: Exploiting speculative execution, CoRR, abs/1801.01203, 2018]. Yet the exploits, although having some complexity and slowness, are demonstrably reliable on nearly all processors produced for the last two decades. Moving out from looking at this strictly as a means of reading protected memory, as the large microprocessor companies move to close this security vulnerability, an interesting question arises. Could the inherent design of the processor give the ability to hide arbitrary calculations in this speculative and parallel side channel? Without even using protected memory and exploiting the vulnerability, as has been the focus, there could very well be a whole class of techniques which exploit the side-channel. It could be done in a way which would be largely un-preventable behavior as the technology would start to become self-defeating or require a more complicated and expensive on-chip cache memory system to properly post-speculatively clean itself. And the ability to train the branch predictor to incorrectly speculatively behave is almost certain given hardware limitations, andthusprovidesexactly this pathway. A novel approach looks at just how much computation can be done speculatively with a result store via indirect reads and available through the memory cache. A multi-threaded approach can allow a multi-stage computation pipeline where each computation is passed to a read-out thread and then to the next computation thread [Swanson, S.—McDowell, L. K.—Swift, M. M.—Eggers, S. J.–Levy H. M.: An evaluation of speculative instruction execution on simultaneous multithreaded processors, ACM Trans. Comput. Syst. 21 (2003), 314–340]. Through channels like this, an application can surreptitiously make arbitrary calculations, or even leak data without any standard tracing tools being capable of monitoring the subtle changes. Like a variation of the famous physics Heisenberg uncertainty principle, even a tool capable of reading the cache states would not only be incredibly inefficient, but thereby tamper with and modify the state. Tools like in-circuit emulators, or specially designed cache emulators would be needed to unmask the speculative reads, and it is further difficult to visualize with a linear time-line. Specifically, the AES and RSA algorithms will be studied with respect to these ideas, looking at success rates for various calculation batches with speculative execution, while having a summary view to see the rather severe performance penalties for using such methods. Either approaches could provide for strong white-box cryptography when considering a binary, non-source code form. In terms of white-box methods, both could be significantly challenging to locate or deduce the inner workings of the code. Further, both methods can easily surreptitiously leak or hide data within shared memory in a seemingly innocuous manner.

Introduced species are species which exceed their natural distribution limits (native range) by a certain mode of introduction (vector). Natural movements are responsible to a limited extent. Introduction of a species could influence the susceptibility of a species to environmental stress no matter if introduced purposely or un purposely. Introduction of species could happen by natural movement i.e. organism can movement influenced by current and some organism can migrate to one area to another area; and human activity either purposely i.e. aquarium trade, aquaculture or un purposely such as accidentally through fouling on ship hulls. However, a dominant vector which has large contribution on species introduction is transported by ship hulls and ballast water tanks. Furthermore, the objective of this experiment is to investigate whether the organism can increase their tolerance during transport. The experimental design to mimicking transport condition in short term lab experiment and compared pre-stress group and non-stress group on the second stress. Afterward, looking forward the survival of the organism. Chosen of Green Mussels (P. viridis) from Muara Kamal, Jakarta Bay, and hyposaline stress. The response variable these experiments are survival and byssus. The results of this study showed that the group of pre-stress and non-stress group was no difference in the simulation of transport for survival. Byssus thread increase when recovery long enough and decrease when getting double stress.

The use of threaded connection is a valuable alternative to conventional welding in tubularconstructions, e.g. pipelines, drill pipes and deep water risers. Those applications are normally exposed toenvironmental hazards – wave induced vibrations, temperature changes, etc. – as well as subjected tosevere service conditions. A classical way to determine fatigue strength in many engineering situations is tocalibrate material models by means of ad hoc designed experiments. Unfortunately, it is very difficult in thiscase even under laboratory conditions due to complicated stress and strain states in the contacting taperedhelical thread surfaces of the connection. Therefore, a classical four-point bending fatigue test setup hasbeen built with a real pipe specimen of 3.75 meter long, consisting of two standard API pipes connected bya threaded coupling, under unsymmetric (non-zero average) load control cycles. A complete vibration studyhas been carried out based on input-output modal tests for the entire period of the fatigue experiment. Inputexcitation is due to hammer impact and responses are recorded by accelerometers and by reusabledynamic strain gauges. The measured modal strains from the dynamic strain gauges allow for directcalculation of the modal curvatures, rather than deriving approximately from acceleration information. Bycomparing the measured modal parameters with those of a numerical model of the same structure inundamaged condition, damage detection, localization in the coupling and quantification are possible. Thisstudy leads to the following conclusion of practical use: the recent advancement in modal analysis, i.e. thereference based input-output combined deterministic-stochastic subspace identification, makes it possibleto identify the structural modal properties from in-situ modal tests, which are performed while the fatiguetest is ongoing. In this way the fatigue test is uninterrupted to avoid the problem of stress and straindisturbances happened in un-reversing load cycles test.

ABSTRACT: During 2019, the Inter-American Court of Human Rights issued three judgments whose common denominator is the national judge and the conventional rights that protect their functions and independence. They deal with different problems, as for example, the recall of a electoral judge by a body with no legal competence (Colindres Schonenberg case), the external pressures and threats upon the functions of a judge (Villaseñor Velarde et al. case) and the question of the political factor during the jury for prosecution that decided the recall of a subnational judge (Rico case). In spite of their differences, it can be perceived the same guiding thread as to how national judges more often need to have recourse to the inter-American jurisdiction to defend themselves and this has eventually drawn attention and triggered important discussions within the San Jose Court. This comment article sets out the main features of those judgements and it reflects on their content. RESUMEN: Durante 2019 la Corte Interamericana de Derechos Humanos emitió tres sentencias cuyo denominador común son la figura del juez nacional y los derechos convencionales que protegen su función e independencia. Abordan problemáticas distintas, a saber, la destitución de un magistrado electoral por un órgano sin competencia legal (caso Colindres Schonenberg), las presiones y amenazas externas sobre la función de una jueza (caso Villaseñor Velarde y otros) y el planteamiento del factor político en el Jurado de Enjuiciamiento que decidió el cese de un juez subnacional (caso Rico). A pesar de sus diferencias, se alcanza a percibir un mismo hilo conductor en cuanto a que los jueces nacionales cada vez con mayor frecuencia tienen la necesidad de acudir a la jurisdicción interamericana para defenderse y esto, a su vez, ocupa la atención y genera discusiones importantes en el seno de la Corte de San José. Freud compared the analyst’s work to that of the archaeologist searching among vestiges, with the big difference that the object of our work is alive, and working with it causes fear, pain and suffering. Last year, during a visit to Pompeii and Mount Vesuvius, impressed by the strangeness of the atmosphere, by people carbonised by lava, eternal statues in a shocking atemporality among the archaic objects and traces of the place, I picked up the thread of psychoanalytic reflections on such ruins, vestiges, the layers of “ash” also present in the human psyche and their relevance in the work of the analytic cure. How to communicate the unthinkable, the unsayable, the un-representable, the barely figurable? How to transform traces of your “ancestors’ ancestors’ ancestors”, even as passed down from Superego to Superego, or via inter-transgenerational transmissions? How to transform the formless into form? From S. Freud to D. W. Winnicott, and W. Bion, from A. Green and J. McDougall, via D. Anzieu and R. Abstract.The praxeological analysis of selected questions used in the Hungarian Pósa method is presented, focusing on a common element in their logos blocks, called recursive thinking. As part of a broader research with reverse didactic engineering methodology, aiming at theorizing the ‘intuitively’ developed Pósa method, the present findings are also compared to previous results and re-interpret the concepts of kernel and web of problem thread. Based on these results gained by using tools of the Anthropological Theory of the Didactic, the paper offers a partial description of the didactic strategy of the Pósa method for inquiry-based learning mathematics and raises questions for further research.RésuméNous présentons l'analyse praxéologique de certaines questions utilisées dans la méthode hongroise Pósa, en nous concentrant sur un élément commun à leurs logos blocs, appelé pensée récursive. Dans le cadre d’une recherche plus large qui met en place une méthodologie d’ingénierie didactique inverse visant à théoriser la méthode de Pósa développée "intuitivement", les résultats actuels réinterprètent les concepts de noyau et de réseau de fils de problèmes. En el 51 aniversario de la publicación de Verdad y método (1960) de Hans-Georg Gadamer, este ensayo abordará la articulación entre el proyecto hermenéutico ―inicialmente formulado como una investigación que tiene como objetivo repensar el fenómeno de la com-prensión en la medida en que se refiere a toda nuestra experiencia vital― y su caracterización como filosofía práctica en las categorías de la pluralidad, el diálogo y la responsabilidad. En otras palabras, vamos a mostrar cómo Gada-mer, en el contexto de nuestros tiempos tecnológicos y bajo una influencia fenomenológica, define la hermenéutica como la “praxis” de la comprensión del otro. Este “praxis” debe ser concebida a la vez como un “aprendizaje de humildad”, capaz de ayudarnos a construir “un mundo razonablemente ordenado y comprensible, donde estamos obligados a vivir”. Para ello nos concentraremos en la rehabilitación de Gadamer de algunos temas de la filosofía griega que le permiten formular su concepto de “praxis” en oposición a su significado moderno, así como a la cultura de expertos de la sociedad contemporánea.At the 51st anniversary of the publication of Hans-Georg Gadamer’s Truth and method (1960), this paper will approach the articulating thread between the hermeneutical project—initially formulated as an investigation that aims to rethink the phenomenon of understanding in as much as it concerns to all our vital experience—and its characterization as practical philosophy under the categories of plurality, dialogue and responsibility. In other words, we will show how Gadamer, in the context of ours technological times and under a phenomenological influence, defines hermeneutics as the “praxis” of understanding the other. This “praxis” must be conceived at the same time as a “learning of humility”, capable of helping us to construct “a reasonably ordered and comprehensible world where we are bound to live”. To this extend we will concentrate ourselves in Gadamer’s rehabilitation of some topics of Greek philosophy, that will allow him formulate his concept of “praxis” in opposition to its modern meaning as well as to the expert culture of contemporary society.

Dating violence is a kind of violence that still debatable among the lawyers. It is due to there has not yet specific articles in the law such as Law number 23/2004 of women and child’s protection in domestic crime as well as Law number 23/2002 about child’s protection. The purpose of this study was to understand problems related to dating violence to strengthen the policy analysis of women’s protection under the laws. The methods was reviewing of policy and laws related documents and interviewed with the victims as well as partners or executors to understand the evidence. A qualitative analysis was implemented with snow-balling sample selection. Yogyakarta was selected as the study location considering that it has a huge population of colleges which the well known place of ‘kota pelajar’. The phenomenon of dating violence brings about psycho-social and health implication such as un-safe, feeling worry up until suicide trial. In addition un-expected pregnancy and risks of sexual transmitted infection become a serious thread related to un-negotiable power of the victims over the executor lead to inferior position of women when they ask the partners to use condom to prevent pregnancy.

Kekerasan dalam berpacaran (dating violence) merupakan salah satu bentuk kekerasan yang masih menjadi perdebatan di kalangan praktisi hukum, mengingat korban kekerasan dalam berpacaran tidak terlindungi oleh peraturan perundang- undangan yang secara spesifik telah disahkan oleh pemerintah, seperti UU no. 23 Tahun 2004 Tentang perlindungan perempuan dan anak terhadap KDRT serta UU no. 23 Tahun 2002 tentang perlindungan anak. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode pengkajian perundang-undangan serta studi kualitatif sebagai pendamping kajian akan dilakukan pada mahasiswa di sekitar kampus yang bertujuan Mengkaji peran lintas sektoral dalam perlindungan masyarakat, terkait kekerasan, khususnya penanganan kekerasan dalam berpacaran di lingkungan kampus di DI Yogyakarta. Fenomena Kekerasan dalam berpacaran ini memiliki implikasi yang luas baik secara psikososial maupun kesehatan dimana kasus-kasus kekerasan ini berakibat pada mengalami kecemasan hingga keinginan untuk melakukan percobaan bunuh diri sedangkan pada kesehatan kekerasan dalam berpacaran terutama pada kekerasan seksual korban sangat berisiko mengalami kehamilan tidak diinginkan (KTD) tertular penyakit seksual menular. Terkait rendahnya daya tawar korban dalam hubungan dengan pelaku, menimbulkan korban memiliki posisi yang lebih inferior ketika meminta pelaku menggunakan alat kontrasepsi pencegah kehamilan (kondom).

Abstract.If we focus on the perspective of learning throughout life and active aging it should be noted that, conceptually, this paradigm is related to a welfare approach eudaimonic with positive psychology and salutogenesis; all from a life-span approach.Starting from an initial and final assessment of aspects such as resilience, sense of self-efficacy, positive and negative emotions and life satisfaction, we work with the different contents of the program from an active and participative methodology over 12 weekly sessions. Proactivity and appreciative thought constitute the thread in the methodology and the outcome of the program results in a number of tools which support the new approach. As a significant number of participants in the program point out, in our culture and in today’s society, the need to learn is spreading to almost every corner of our social activity as a learning process that never stops, where, in addition, we can keep learning to unlearn against certainties and uncertainties where the contributions of the life-span approach, the positive psychology, the social learning and salutogenesis are the backbone on which it is based and builds the intervention program.To end this paper presents the objectives, content and overall structure of training and learning program, aimed at adults who are part of a program at the Permanent University Millán Santos of Valladolid. Resumen: A partir de la identificación de los vectores ineludibles para la transición ecológica, la disertación se desarrolla en torno al denominado paradigma ecológico, una visión del mundo ya plenamente consolidada en la que confluyen la ciencia ecológica, las teorías y las prácticas políticas emancipatorias y las indagaciones filosóficas en torno a la conciencia humana. Como marco de referencia e hilo argumental se ha recurrido a la perspectiva epistemológica desarrollada por Félix Guattari en su obra Las tres ecologías (1989), a partir de lo que él define como las tres dimensiones ecológicas básicas: la ambiental, la social y la mental. Este marco resulta especialmente adecuado para abordar el carácter multidimensional del nuevo paradigma en relación con la realidad urbano-territorial, considerada como fenómeno mental y social en permanente interrelación con su medio, y como artefacto producto de los flujos metabólicos de energía, materiales e información generados dentro de un determinado modelo de apropiación-transformación-distribución y consumo. La propuesta de una utopía autopoiética, es decir, una utopía en permanente autoformación, indisociable de la construcción de un modelo de democracia deliberativa y de un modelo de planificación abierta, constituye realmente el núcleo de la propuesta. Como desarrollo de la misma, se expone la batería de objetivos y herramientas para un nuevo urbanismo inspirado en el paradigma ecológico.

Abstract: Starting from the identification of the inescapable vectors for the ecological transition, the dissertation is developed around the so-called ecological paradigm, an already fully consolidated global view in which three epistemological fields converge: the ecological science, the emancipatory political theories and practices and the philosophical inquiries around human consciousness. As a framework of reference and plot thread, the epistemological perspective developed by Félix Guattari in his work The three ecologies (1989) has been used, based on what he defines as the three basic ecological dimensions: environmental, social and mental. This framework is especially suitable to address the multidimensional character of the new paradigm in relation to the urban-territorial reality, considered as a mental and social phenomenon in permanent interrelation with its environment, and as an spatial artifact product of the metabolic flows of energy, materials and information generated within a certain model of appropriation-transformation-distribution and consumption. The proposal of an autopoietic utopia, that is, a utopia in permanent self-creation, inseparable from the construction of a model of deliberative democracy and a model of open planning, really constitutes the core of the proposal. As a development of this proposal, a series of objectives and tools for a new urbanism inspired by the ecological paradigm is formulated.

Resumen El modelo de iglesia basilical ha estado presente en el cristianismo desdeépoca de Constantino. Entre sus diversas variantes e interpretaciones podría destacarse la que se desarrolló en la Francia de los siglos XVII y XVIII, caracterizada por entablamentos adintelados que soportan bóvedas de medio cañón y que, en última instancia, remite a una lectura errónea de la descripción vitruviana de la Basílica de Fano. Este importante episodio constituirá el germen renovador de la arquitectura neoclásica, aunque los edificios que vamos a tratar suelen quedar oscurecidos por la sombra de la paradigmática iglesia de Sainte-Geneviève de París que, sin embargo, abandona la tipología original. En este texto se propone una revisión de la arquitectura de esta época buscando un hilo conductor concatenando sus principales obras, que intentan explicarse desde planteamientos no sólo históricos o formales sino también constructivos.AbstractThe basilical church model has been present in Christianity since the time of Constantine. Many learners, even those studying at universities in regions where the target language is spoken, lack opportunities for meaningful language use outside of the classroom. One avenue for learners to increase authentic target-language communication is online affinity spaces within social media platforms, where interactions with other users are formed around shared interests rather than personal connections. International students at an arts and media college in the Midwestern United States were asked to read a discussion thread within a social media platform, summarize what they found useful, and respond to pre- and posttask questionnaires. The platform used, Reddit, features anonymous user-generated content in a wide range of discussion forums based around specific interests and geographic locations. This study used qualitative data to investigate the extent to which international students participate in online communities like these and the factors or barriers that keep them from achieving full participation. The findings are then used to present learner training strategies that can help reduce or remove those barriers, enabling language learners to increase their participation in target-language online communities.
Plusieurs apprenantes et apprenants, même parmi celles et ceux qui étudient dans une université située dans une région où la langue cible est parlée, n’ont pas suffisamment d’occasions de pratiquer avantageusement leur nouvelle langue en dehors de la salle de classe. Une avenue qui s’ouvre à elles et à eux pour augmenter leurs chances de s’adonner à des communications authentiques dans leur langue cible est l’espace d’affinité en ligne sur les réseaux sociaux, endroit où les interactions sont davantage basées sur le partage d’intérêts communs que sur des relations personnelles. Des étudiantes et étudiants internationaux d’un collège des arts et des médias du Midwest des États-Unis ont été invités à lire un fil de discussion sur une plateforme de réseau social, à en résumer les éléments jugés utiles et à répondre à un questionnaire avant et après l’exercice. La plateforme utilisée, Reddit, présente des contenus qui sont générés anonymement par les utilisateurs dans un large éventail de forums de discussion et qui sont regroupés autour d’intérêts et de secteurs géographiques particuliers. Cette étude utilise des données qualitatives permettant d’évaluer dans quelle mesure les étudiantes et étudiants internationaux participent à la vie de communautés en ligne de ce genre et de déterminer quels sont les facteurs ou obstacles qui les empêchent de le faire pleinement. Les constatations sont ensuite utilisées pour présenter des stratégies de formation des apprenantes et apprenants qui sont susceptibles d’aider à réduire ou aplanir ces obstacles et à aider par le fait même les participants à s’impliquer davantage dans la vie de communautés en ligne s’exprimant dans leur langue cible.

Abstract. The main objective of the work was to analyze the performance carried out by competitive football teams in their respective regular leagues during the 2015-16 season. All matches played by Leicester F.C. as a representative of the Premier League (n = 38) were considered, while Barcelona F.C. was the team representing La Liga (n = 38). Intra and inter championship monitoring of these champion teams was carried out taking into account seven variables: team, location, quality, warnings, changes of players, goals, and final result. The data matrices were constructed and analyzed using variables temporal reference through the Theme data reduction technique (Magnusson, 2000). From the analysis of the specificity of soccer success in two of the best European championships, formulas that are difficult to detect through a superficial look were extracted. Paying attention to the records’ context of appearance justifies a vision braided through a temporality thread. This work’s findings can be used by sports managers in their long-term planning, while in the short and medium-term coaches can also take advantage of them. Optimizing high-level sports performance requires new analytical perspectives to understand how success arises in football. Resumen. El objetivo prioritario del trabajo era analizar el rendimiento protagonizado por equipos competitivos de fútbol en sus campeonatos respectivos de liga regular durante la temporada 2015-16. Se incluyeron todos los partidos del Leicester F.C. representante de la premier league (n=38) mientras que el equipo representante de La Liga fue el Barcelona F.C. (n=38). Se acometió un seguimiento intra e inter campeonato de los equipos campeones atendiendo a cinco variables: equipo, localización, calidad, amonestaciones, cambios de jugadores, goles y resultado final. Las matrices de datos fueron construidas y analizadas mediante el empleo de la referencia temporal de las variables, empleando para ello la técnica de reducción de datos Theme (Magnusson, 2000). Del análisis de especificidad del éxito futbolístico en dos de los mejores campeonatos del panorama europeo se extrajeron fórmulas difícilmente detectables mediante una mirada superficial. Atender al contexto de aparición de los registros justifica una visión trenzada mediante un hilo de temporalidad. Los hallazgos pueden ser aprovechados a largo plazo por directores deportivos en sus planificaciones, mientras que a corto y medio plazo también los entrenadores pueden verse ayudados. Optimizar el rendimiento deportivo de alto nivel precisa de nuevas perspectivas de análisis mediante las que conocer a qué responde el éxito en fútbol.

Resumen: El Concepto es el hilo conductor que guía al proyecto arquitectónico en todas sus etapas de desarrollo. El objetivo de este trabajo es presentar una reflexión sobre la importancia que tiene el concepto en el proceso de diseño y cómo afrontar su argumentación. El método con el cual se planteó la investigación, parte de un análisis a partir de la revisión de fuentes bibliográficas, que permitieran la identificación de los elementos de juicio que soportaran el fundamento teórico, de la importancia que tiene el concepto arquitectónico y su posterior argumentación, como etapas previas al desarrollo del proyecto. Entre los resultados se destaca el entendimiento de la argumentación como el mecanismo que permite el proceso reflexivo de la conceptualización en el proceso de diseño, a través de la complementación con las experiencias, permite el desarrollo de las ideas. Su producción es además un proceso de interacción con el interlocutor, indispensable para que exista comunicación desde el punto de vista intelectual. Como conclusión más importante se presenta, la importancia de la argumentación en el proceso de diseño, ésta surge de la necesidad de comunicación y defensa de las ideas a través del mecanismo de relacionar datos concretos con las abstracciones y generalizaciones. El diseño arquitectónico es el resultado del concepto y no el proceso inverso.

___Abstract: The Concept is the conductive thread that he guides the architectural project in all his stages of development. The aim of this work is to present a reflection on the importance that has the concept in the process of design and how to confront his argumentation. The method in the research, part of an analysis from the review of bibliographical sources, which were allowing the identification of the facts that were supporting the theoretical foundation, of the importance that has the architectural concept and his later argumentation, as stages before the development of the Project. Between the results we can see that the understanding of the argumentation is outlined as the mechanism that allows the reflexive process of the conceptualization in the process of design, across to join with the experiences, allows the development of the ideas. His production is in addition a process of interaction with the speaker, indispensably in order that communication exists from the intellectual point of view. The more important conclusions it is presents the importance of the argumentation in the process of design, this one arises from the need of communication and defense of the ideas across the mechanism of relating concrete information to the abstractions and generalizations. The architectural design is the result of the concept and not the inverse process.

Across the Islamic world, Islamist groups have chosen to join popular protests stemming from the 2011 Arab Spring. In Morocco, however, an exception emerged. The country’s main Islamist opposition political party – the Justice and Development Party (hizb al-a’dala wa al-tanmia) – declined invitations to join demonstrations organized by the February 20th Movement for Change. Under what conditions do Islamist movements support Arab Spring uprisings? Why did the PJD choose to stay outside these protests demanding greater reform? The PJD, some scholars argue, did not support Arab Spring unrest because it is a co-opted Islamist movement. In contrast, I argue that the PJD refused to join the protests because it thought it could leverage them to its advantage. By threatening the Moroccan regime to leave formal party politics for the street, the Islamist party used the unrest to increase its bargaining power, sideline its rivals, and win its policy demands. This threat to “un-moderate” empowered the PJD to get what it wanted from the regime during the Arab Spring.

On March 7, 2013, the United Nations Security Council unanimously passed Resolution 2094 (2013), bolstering the scope of United Nations (UN) sanctions against the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK). The Resolution represents the international community’s latest attempt at applying diplomatic and economic pressure to the DPRK so as to curb its nuclear weapons program. The resolution is also a response to the DPRK’s third nuclear test on February 12, 2013 and its subsequent threat to carry out preemptive nuclear strikes against the United States and South Korea. Acting under Chapter VII of the UN Charter, the Security Council responded to these grave violations of its existing Resolutions—seen as clear threats to international peace and security—by building upon, strengthening, and expanding the scope of the sanctions regime against the DPRK.

If quality of life of women suffering from pelvic prolapse is investigated, the impact of symptoms may result dramatic, causing psychological, relational, sexual, working problems. Posterior vaginal wall defects are classified as rectocele and enterocele. Rectocele means hernia or protrusion of the anterior wall of rectum in vagina, such condition being determined both by softening of posterior vaginal wall and by damaging of lateral insertions of the vagina to the pelvic wall. RIASSUNTO Il descensus del pavimento pelvico è una condizione frequente nella popolazione femminile, destinata inevitabilmente ad aumentare con l’aumento dell’età media della popolazione. Se si indaga sulla qualità della vita delle donne affette da descensus pelvico, risulta che l’impatto dei sintomi può essere drammatico, creando problemi psicologici, relazionali, sessuali ed occupazionali. I difetti della parete vaginale posteriore vengono classificati come rettocele ed enterocele. Per rettocele s’intende l’ernia o protrusione della parete anteriore del retto in vagina, tale condizione può essere determinata sia da un’attenuazione della paAim of the study is to use a surgical technique for the treatment of posterior vaginal wall defects and a type of prosthetic material that solves the pathology, being in the meanwhile the least invasive as possible, not having high costs and not leaving physical and/or psychological invalidating problems. In the choice of the type of surgical intervention to be carried out for the correction of an anatomical and/or functional defect is necessary to carefully evaluate the impact that this intervention may cause to women’s life and - as the evidencebased medicine imposes - it is necessary to evaluate the adequacy of medical interventions as to the possibility that they offer to promote or regain health. The surgical technique used foresees a transversal incision of the posterior vaginal wall at the rima vulvae with detachment of the vagina and exposure of the rectovaginal septum up to the posterior fornixes. Exposing the ischial spine, a Vicryl point is given bilaterally 1 cm forward and upward to the spine itself. Thus the PelvocolTM tape is fixed with the same thread that consequently anchors the wall of the vaginal fundus, De Lancey II-III point. With this technique the musculi levatoris ani are not medialized, there are no sutures in the vagina, thus guaranteeing a normal anatomy and a normal vaginal axis, avoiding the onset of dyspareunia and pain in the sacral region, as a consequence of the traditional posterior colporrhaphy or the suspension correction to the ligamentum sacrospinalis. rete vaginale posteriore che da un danneggiamento delle inserzioni laterali della vagina alla parete pelvica. The correction of grade I, II and III rectocele has been rarely applied in the past due to the concern of creating an excessive reduction in the vaginal caliber with complications such as reduced vaginal capacity and dyspareunia. Our experience demonstrated that the carrying out of the above described surgical technique not only guarantees the anatomical preservation of the posterior segment, but represents an optimal repair of the pelvic statical defect. The Pelvicol implant guarantees to women the return to normal social and sexual life, so that this method is to be privileged with respect to traditional surgical techniques. However, this surgery needs a wider usage trial by other surgeons, in order to find its definite role in rectocele surgical therapy.

In the article is viewed through a lens of modern perspective directions of development of technologies in the sphere of the augmented and virtual realities, signs of information terrorism and its components – cyber terrorism and media terrorism are considered, and also the further vectors of terrorist threats in media space are predicted. The relevant UN anti-terrorism documents have been analyzed. It has been shown that today international law and Ukrainian legislation in the field of counter-terrorism security emphasize the technical component of preventing the disruption of information systems, while the strategy to combat threats is largely based on the latest relevant concepts aimed at strengthening the security of global information and telecommunications systems. Conceptual ways of counteracting the terrorist threat in the media space have been proposed in addition to the modern directions of anti-terrorist measures in the information sphere.

The rapid evolution of numerous contemporary threats and the development of multilateralism constitute two significant driving forces for the intensified cooperation between the European Union and the United Nations as regards crisis management. Responding to crises (threats), both natural and man-induced, in an efficient manner requires effective crisis management in order to take steps as early as possible when a threat emerges. Given the increasing external expectations in this field addressed at the EU, it has gradually been developing relevant civil as well as military instruments of crisis management and response. The EU has also been developing collaboration with the UN which calls for increased commitment of regional organizations in bearing the costs of maintaining international peace and security. Although this cooperation is mutually beneficial, it is not free from weaknesses and limitations on various levels of operation.

Article 39 on the UN Charter mentioned that Security Council has an authority to determine any threat to the peace, breach of peace or act of aggression and so on. That Article has an implicit purpose that any country which wage a war or support an armed conflict without the SC authorization are considered as breach on other country’s territorial or political integrity as mentioned at Article 2.4. It can be classified as an Unjust War. The Unjust War itself can cause a major impact to destroy another country’s sovereignty and moreover the devastation from war often cannot be approximated. This paper used normative or doctrinal legal research method. Furthermore, it will reconstruct the authority of the UN to reformulate the international threat to prevent future commence of Unjust War with a political law. The main aspects to reconstruct must be linked to whether the removal of veto rights or political mechanism via UN General Assembly. While, the expansion of the authority to propose a sanction in the UN is not only coming from SC initiative only but it can be reconstructed so that the authority via UN GA can make a bigger sovereign and equally legally decision against big countries’ political power.

In Memoir Upon the Formation of a Deaf Variety of the Human Race (1883), Alexander Graham Bell proposed several preventative eugenic measures to reduce the transmission of deafness, including oralism, or the pedagogical approach for the exclusive teaching of speech and lipreading, and the reduction of deaf-deaf intermarriage. In answer, writers in Deaf community publications made appeals for autonomy embedded within hegemonic social norms related to race, class, gender, and able-bodiedness. Because marriage autonomy was often conflated with labor and class rather than treated as one of several interwoven strategies in Bell’s eugenic argument, it has been argued that Deaf community leaders underestimated the threat they faced from rising nativist beliefs merged with eugenics in the post-bellum era on into early twentieth-century America. However, in their fiction, white/biracial Deaf creative writers of this era, namely Douglas Tilden, Hypatia Boyd, Guie Deliglio, and Howard Terry, complicated, re-inscribed, and countered these ideologies.

O mobiliário escolar é reconhecido como um dos símbolos da educação moderna e ocupou um lugar de destaque em projetos de escolarização da infância no ocidente, principalmente a partir da segunda metade do século XIX. Dentre os diferentes artefatos idealizados para atender exigências pedagógicas e higiênicas, selecionamos a carteira escolar como o fio condutor das análises desenvolvidas neste artigo por entendermos que, além do destaque recebido em impressos em circulação, ela foi considerada nesse período como um dos elementos essenciais para a (con)formação de práticas e condutas. Nessa direção, este trabalho tem como objetivo identificar, em discursos que circularam em Exposições Universais em diferentes formatos, elementos que caracterizavam a carteira escolar adequada para o desenvolvimento de práticas pedagógicas. Para tanto, são analisados relatórios de Exposições Universais, catálogos de indústrias e dicionários pedagógicos, os quais auxiliaram na identificação de argumentos que defendiam a construção de carteiras escolares que atendessem a um padrão de exigências veiculadas em eventos desse porte. Nessa empreitada foi possível observar um efeito de transbordamento de exigências difundidas nas Exposições Universais no que se refere a saberes e tecnologias empregados na construção de móveis escolares, assim como a elaboração de um conjunto de estratégias que visavam à adequação de escolas primárias de acordo com os modelos referenciados como ideais para a escolarização da infância.Palavras-chave: Mobiliário escolar. Cultura material escolar.Is the school desk "fit for its destiny"? arguments and requirements on school furniture in Universal ExhibitionsABSTRACTSchool furniture is recognized as one of the symbols of modern education and has occupied a prominent place in childhood schooling projects in the West, mainly from the second half of the 19th century. Among the different artifacts designed to meet pedagogical and hygienic requirements, we selected the school desk as the guiding thread of the analyses conducted in this article because we understand that, in addition to the prominence that it received in printed documents in circulation, it was considered in this period as one of the essential elements for the (con)formation of practices and conducts. In this sense, this work aims to identify, in discourses that circulated in Universal Exhibitions in different formats, elements that characterized the school desk fit for the development of pedagogical practices. For this purpose, reports of Universal Exhibitions, catalogs of industries and pedagogical dictionaries are analyzed, which helped in the identification of arguments that advocated the construction of school desks that met a standard of demands conveyed in such events. In this task, it was possible to observe an overflowing effect of demands disseminated in the Universal Exhibitions with regard to knowledge and technologies employed in the construction of school furniture, as well as the elaboration of a set of strategies aimed at the adequacy of primary schools in accordance with the models referred to as ideal for the schooling of childhood.Keywords: School furniture. Entre los diferentes artefactos diseñados para satisfacer las exigencias pedagógicas e higiénicas, seleccionamos el pupitre escolar como el hilo conductor de los análisis desarrollados en este artículo porque se entiende que, además del énfasis recibido en impresos en circulación, se consideró en este período como uno de los elementos esenciales para la (con)formación de prácticas y conductas. En esta dirección, este artículo pretende identificar, en los discursos que circularon en Exposiciones Universales en diferentes formatos, elementos que caracterizaron el pupitre escolar adecuado para el desarrollo de prácticas pedagógicas. Para ello, se analizan informes de Exposiciones Universales, catálogos de industrias y diccionarios pedagógicos, los cuales ayudaron en la identificación de argumentos que abogaban por la construcción de pupitres escolares que atendieran un patrón de demandas transmitidas en tales eventos. En esta investigación fue posible observar un efecto desbordante de las demandas difundidas en las Exposiciones Universales con respecto a los conocimientos y tecnologías empleadas en la construcción de muebles escolares, así como la elaboración de un conjunto de estrategias dirigidas a la adecuación de las escuelas primarias de acuerdo con los modelos considerados ideales para la escolarización de la infancia.Palabras clave: Mobiliario escolar.
