Abstract:
The article is a personal reflection upon the themes of the past and the present, prompted by the author’s visceral reaction to a text entitled Babka Druga [The Second Grandma]by Tamara Bołdak-Janowska. Coming into contact with a single, concise short story is here translated into an essay testifying to an individual experience the author has gone through, an experience of the kind mentioned by Francis Fukuyama in his considerations regarding human identity. Simultaneously, the author utilises in her investigations the poetics of experience, private world, and their literary depictions, observ

In the physics of condensed matter, quantum critical phenomena and unconventional superconductivity are two major themes. In electron-doped cuprates, the low critical field (HC2) allows one to study the putative quantum critical point (QCP) at low temperature and to understand its connection to the long-standing problem of the origin of the high-TCsuperconductivity. Here we present measurements of the low-temperature normal-state thermopower (S) of the electron-doped cuprate superconductor La2−xCexCuO4(LCCO) fromx= 0.11–0.19. Abstract Hip hop and Islam have reshaped visions of one another in hip hop’s homeland, the United States (US), and Islam’s birthplace, the Middle East. This article surveys the history and rise of American Muslim hip hop (AMHH). It then examines Middle Eastern Muslim hip hop. I argue that the skillful appropriation of religious motifs in music generates transnational connections via AMHH, while music’s utilization of Islam reinforces Islam’s long-standing transnationalism, albeit through an unconventional platform. AMHH simultaneously reflects and reconfigures Islam and hip hop in the US, maki

This research paper examines the experimental nature of appropriation focusing on The National Academy of Performing Arts (NAPA) renditions of Shakespeare’s Hamlet (1603) and Richard III (1597). It investigates how these adaptations bring about changes in both dramatic structure and artistic expression, dissecting visual and performative elements to uncover diverse meanings within live performances. The research delves into how NAPA’s creative choices offer new ways to examine Shakespeare’s universal themes—jealousy, incest, ambition, and hatred— through unconventional theatrical presentations
