Replication gaps that persist into mitosis likely represent important threats to genome stability, but experimental identification of these gaps has proved challenging. We have developed a technique that allows us to explore the dynamics by which genome replication is completed before mitosis. Using this approach, we demonstrate that excessive allocation of replication resources to origins within repetitive regions, induced by SIR2 deletion, leads to persistent replication gaps and genome instability. Conversely, the weakening of replication origins in repetitive regions suppresses these gaps.

The current state of the components of the environment, the resource-recreational potential of the Rohatyn district of Ivano-Frankivsk region are analyzed. It is noted that the district has a sufficiently high integral indicator of anthropogenic environmental loads, nature management here is often irrational and ecologically unbalanced, and natural resource efficiency is rather low. The basis of restructuring of the economy of the Rohatyn region is to lay its investment and innovation model, taking into account the peculiarities of the region's potential, in particular the efficient use of its

Inquiries into the diminishing supply of artesian water within the Queensland aspect of the Great Artesian Basin began in 1939. These investigations produced a Queensland phenomenon without Australian precedent in terms of rationale, geographical diversity, and commitment of resources. In some regions, exposure of herds to fluoride emerged as an urgent issue because fluoride was perceived as an invasive, invisible, and odourless 'contaminant' in artesian water. This paper discusses the scientific background to, and management of, concerns over the consumption by stock of artesian water with a

Recent research has sought to better understand resource and housing market cycles longitudinally and define clear phases in order to understand interactions between the two over time. This is a necessary step forward in housing market knowledge for this under researched area, particularly in an economically unique context. This paper expands knowledge by undertaking a comparative study of town housing markets in Queensland’s coal mining Bowen Basin and Sweden’s northern municipalities—specifically Gallivare and Kiruna—where a long history of iron ore mining exists. International organizations and biodiversity scientists recognize three levels of biodiversity: genetic, species, and ecosystem. However, most studies with the goal of assessing biodiversity collect data at only a single level -- that of the species. Even when multiple levels of biodiversity are considered, usually only ecosystem diversity is also evaluated. Genetic diversity is virtually never considered. Yet, genetic diversity is essential for the maintenance of populations and species over ecological and evolutionary time periods. Moreover, because components of genetic diversity are indepe

It becomes more important when it is applied to areas that suffer from inadequate hydrological field data. The existing methods which are appropriate for predictions in ungauged basins include extrapolation from gauged to ungauged basins, remote sensing-based measurements, process-based hydrological models, and application of combined meteorological–hydrological models without the need to specify precipitation inputs. Groundwater depth controls water availability to vegetation and is essential for conserving groundwater-dependent terrestrial ecosystems. Environmental groundwater depth can be defined as a mean depth or a range of depths, satisfying the growth of natural vegetation that is not under stress, either due to lack of water or anoxia or soil salinization.
