Abstract:
The Brazilian aeronautical sector underwent major changes in the 1940s, the main one being the creation of the Ministry of Aeronautics, which culminated in the union of the army and navy air forces into a single force, resulting in the sending of the 1st Group of Fighter aircraft to fight in the Mediterranean theater of operations in World War II. Such action was only possible as a result of the international policy of the Brazilian government and the creation of a joint commission between Brazil and the United States, which was carried out by the Air Division of the Joint Brasil-U.S. Defense
