Full textThis paper presents the development and implementation of a three-phase universal active filter consisting of three single-phase modules. Each single-phase module is independent and is controlled by a digital signal processor. The power structure used in each module is a three-arm topology in which two converts share one arm, so that the circuit has a reduced count of components and can operate without using a transformer. The proposed active filter can compensate harmonic distortion and adjust the voltage level delivered to the load. It also compensates the load current connected to the filter output, correcting its harmonic content and power factor. It presents a literature review on some issues related to power quality, as the concepts of harmonic distortion, its effects and relevant standards. Then the principal topologies used in active filters are presented. Three single-phase modules, each one of 1500 W, are implemented and the operation principles of the three-arms structure and the main parameters of the power circuit are analyzed. A digital PLL (Phase Locked Loop) is employed to synchronize each module. Repetitive controllers are used to control the voltage and current. Details of the control strategy and circuit design of the synchronism and digital controllers are presented. The results are verified through simulation and experimentation of the implemented prototype. Using the active filter was possible to reduce the harmonic content of the loads used in the experimental tests as well as increasing the power factor and to correct the distortion and voltage level supplied to the load.

Ao considerar o cinema musical como um gênero fértil para o estudo de diálogos entre gêneros, esta pesquisa reflete acerca do filme musical Across the Universe (2007), de Julie Taymor, em sua arquitetônica (forma, estilo e conteúdo). O gênero cinema e o gênero canção encontram-se em constante diálogo no musical e, especificamente, no corpus aqui trabalhado. As canções inseridas no filme são todas compostas pela banda britânica The Beatles. As relações dialógicas e as genericidades reconhecidas nesta pesquisa são trabalhadas sob a ótica dos estudos do Círculo de Bakhtin e buscam analisar como o filme Across the Universe incorpora as canções de The Beatles e de que maneira o musical dialoga com a letra de cada canção e com cada situação em que são interpretadas no filme. Sob a abordagem dialógica do Círculo, a análise do filme em questão possibilita reconhecer o cinema como característico por ser composto por outros gêneros que a ele se incorporam e fundem em sua composição, como ocorre em Across the Universe, em que a canção e a dança, por exemplo, são parte da construção do cinema musical
Considering cinema as a fertile genre for the studies of dialogue between genres this research thinks about the musical film Across the Universe (2007), by Julie Taymor, in its architectonic (form, style and content). The cinema genre and the song genre are in constant dialogue in the musical film and specifically in the corpus chosen. The songs within the movie are all composed by the british band The Beatles. The dialogical relations and the genres recognized in this research are analyzed within the perspective of the studies of the Bakhtin Circle Bakhtin, and aim to analyze how the movie Across the Universe incorporates the songs by The Beatles and in which way the musical dialogues with the lyrics of each song and with each situation in which they are sung in the movie. Within the dialogical perspective of the Circle the analysis of the movie makes it possible to recognize the cinema as composed by other genres that are incorporated within its composition, such as in Across the Universe, in which song and dance are part of the composition of the musical film

Esta pesquisa parte das definições acerca do gênero Ficção Científica, em busca de um aprofundamento acerca do corpus de pesquisa que consiste em obras desse gênero: os espaços cinematográficos criados pelos diretores Steven Soderbergh e Andrei Tarkovski inspirados no universo Solaris arquitetado por Stanislaw Lem em seu romance homônimo. Diversos questionamentos científicos são descritos, para então, serem identificados nos espaços cinematográficos. Esta pesquisa apresenta como principal objetivo descrever como os filmes selecionados configuram os questionamentos científicos em seus espaços, por meio dos recursos narrativos; através da análise fílmica dos espaços isso pôde ser realizado. As teorias estéticas ofereceram uma forma de pensar a articulação dos conceitos acerca da ciência com os recursos de narração utilizados pelos cineastas. Os espaços construídos nos filmes materializam os conceitos mobilizados na forma de experiências estéticas, os principais paradigmas questionados são: a associação de fenômenos estranhos em modelos conhecidos; a grande valorização dada à ciência em detrimento de outros campos de conhecimento e seu decorrente isolamento; o humano se colocando com toda sua subjetividade própria como cientista em busca de objetividade extrema; a pulsão por destruir o desconhecido, e dominar sobrepujando o conhecer; e a ilusão de que o contato com seres de outros planetas solucionem enigmas terrestres.
This study starts by looking at the definitions of the genre of Science Fiction with a view to deepening awareness of the corpus of research which consists of works of this genre: the cinematographic spaces created by the directors Steven Soderbergh and Andrei Tarkovsky inspired by the universe of Solaris crafted by Stanislaw Lem in his novel of the same name. Several scientific lines of enquiry are entered into which are then identified in these cinematographic spaces. The main objective of this research is to describe how the films selected shape the scientific enquiries in their spaces, by using narrative resources; this could be achieved by analyzing how spaces were filmed. Aesthetic theories offered a way of thinking about how the concepts to do with science were interweaved with the narrative resources used by filmmakers. The spaces built in the movies materialize the concepts mobilized in the form of aesthetic experiences. The main paradigms questioned are: the association of strange phenomena in well-known models; the huge extent to which special value is given to science to the detriment of other fields of knowledge and its resulting isolation; human beings placing themselves with all their own subjectivity as scientists in search of extreme objectivity; the ardent desire to destroy the unknown, to master and totally dominate knowledge; and the illusion that contact with beings from other planets may solve terrestrial enigmas.

Resumo: Esta dissertação de mestrado tem a Ciranda como objeto de estudo, uma manifestação cultural brasileira encontrada em diferentes regiões do país, com expressões peculiares em cada uma delas. Durante nossa atuação profissional, observamos um precário enraizamento dos educadores de música na cultura do país; a música popular brasileira de raiz era pouco apreciada e divulgada no contexto escolar. Diante desta realidade, a pesquisa pretendeu verificar qual o tipo de repertório musical que melhor contemplasse as raízes culturais brasileiras e, em que bases, esse repertório poderia ser repassado para os professores de música. A diversidade de manifestações musicais encontradas em nossa cultura tornou necessária a escolha de uma delas, no caso, a Ciranda, no intuito de ressaltar o valor de sua presença nos espaços educacionais. Para tanto, era fundamental compreender a sua natureza, a sua trajetória histórica e como ela esta presente na atualidade. A escassez de material bibliográfico motivou-nos a buscar outras fontes originárias, daí o caráter documental da pesquisa. Os objetivos da investigação concentraram-se em conceituar a Ciranda sob uma perspectiva etimológica e cultural; apontar a sua diversidade nas regiões brasileiras; caracterizar seus elementos definidores; apontá-la como uma manifestação cultural modificada pelo fenômeno da circularidade cultural. Concluímos a dissertação com a análise fenomenológica de quatro Cirandas, na busca de seus elementos identitários, sendo duas da tradição oral, sem autoria definida, uma da música popular, de Moacir Santos e Gilberto Gil e uma da música erudita, do compositor Almeida Prado. Abstract: This master degree thesis has the Ciranda as its object of study, a Brazilian cultural manifestation found in different regions of the country with peculiar expressions in each one. We observed, during our professional work, a poor rooting of music educators in the country's culture. The deep-rooted Brazilian popular music was little appreciated and spread in the school context. Given this reality, the research intended to investigate the kind of musical repertoire that best addressed the Brazilian cultural roots and on what basis this repertoire could be passed on to the music teachers. The diversity of musical expressions found in our culture made it necessary to choose one of them, in this case, the Ciranda, in order to emphasize the value of its presence in educational environments. Having this purpose in mind, it was essential to understand its nature, its historical trajectory and its presence today. The scarcity of publications led us to search other original sources, hence the documentary character of the research. The objectives of the investigation focused on conceptualizing Ciranda in an etymological and cultural perspective; show its diversity in the Brazilian regions; characterize its defining elements; show it as a cultural expression modified by the cultural phenomenon of circularity. We conclude the thesis with the phenomenological analysis of four Cirandas in search of its identity elements being two from the oral tradition, without definite authorship, one from the popular music of Moacir Santos and Gilberto Gil and one from the classical music the composer being Almeida Prado. The theoretical research was based on studies of Mikhail Bakhtin, Father Jaime Diniz, Evandro Rabello, H.J.Koellreutter, among others. Full textO conhecimento da morfologia interna do sistema de canais radiculares e suas diversas conformações têm um importante papel no sucesso da terapia endodôntica. A familiarização com as curvaturas torna-se importante para execução de um correto planejamento do preparo biomecânico dos canais radiculares escolhendo técnicas e instrumentos apropriados para cada situação, uma vez que a manutenção da sua anatomia original é de suma importância para o sucesso da terapêutica aplicada. O preparo biomecânico do sistema de canais radiculares apresenta como objetivo promover a limpeza, modelagem tridimensional e a completa desinfecção do sistema de canais radiculares utilizando instrumentos e soluções que permitam maior precisão e menor tempo de trabalho. Desde sua introdução, os instrumentos endodônticos confeccionados em níquel-titânio (NiTi) vêm sendo largamente utilizados por apresentar grande flexibilidade e capacidade em manter a morfologia original do canal radicular. Instrumentos rotatórios confeccionados com esta liga promovem o alargamento das porções curvas dos canais mantendo a sua anatomia original, provocando menores índices de desvios. Esta pesquisa avaliou a centralização do preparo biomecânico após a instrumentação mecânico-rotatória efetuada por três sistemas rotatórios (ProTaperTM, ProFileTM e Twisted-FileTM) em canais radiculares curvos e a conformação das paredes dentinárias após o preparo biomecânico efetuado pelo sistema ProTaperTM. Diante dos resultados obtidos, pôde-se concluir que: os três sistemas analisados ProTaper, ProFile e Twisted-File foram capazes de realizar o preparo biomecânico centralizado na porção apical do canal radicular provocando pequenas proporções de desvio, não sendo observadas diferenças estatisticamente significantes entre os mesmos; O sistema rotatório ProTaper UniversalTM não foi totalmente eficaz em instrumentar todas as paredes do terço apical dos canais radiculares, apresentando porém uma capacidade aceitável para a modelagem de canais radiculares curvos

Full textEsta investigación parte de la noción de Real Maravilloso tomando los principales estudiosos del tema y enseguida destaca los elementos significativos en la escrita del colombiano Gabriel García Márquez, principalmente en su obra Cien años de soledad de 1967. El escritor al convertirse en una de las figuras más importantes de la vertiente literaria del Real Maravilloso y uno de los nombres de más relieve del boom de la literatura latinoamericana, extrapola el ámbito literario, prestando su estilo a otras manifestaciones artísticas, entre ellas el cine. Partiendo de esa idea de que el universo ficcional de Márquez se encuentra diseminado también en el cine fueron elegidas para análisis las narrativas fílmicas: Como agua para chocolate, del director mexicano Alfonso Arau, y A casa dos espíritos, del director danés Bille August, pues se configuran como adaptaciones de dos importantes novelas de las escritoras Isabel Allende e Laura Esquivel, que según la crítica se inspiran en el Real Maravilloso marqueziano . Para la realización de esta investigación fueron indispensables los estudios de Alejo Carpentier sobre el Real Maravilloso, principalmente en su prólogo de O reino de este mundo (2009), los conceptos de Antonio R. Esteves y Eurídice Figueiredo (2010), Irlemar Chiampi (2008), Bella Jozef, Mario Vargas Llosa (2007), Robert Stam (2008), Carolina Marinho (2009).
Este estudo inicialmente parte da noção de Real Maravilhoso tomando os principais estudiosos do tema e posteriormente ressalta os elementos significativos na escrita do colombiano Gabriel García Márquez, principalmente em sua obra Cem anos de solidão de 1967. Full textA unique entity in today's British film industry, production company Working Title Films has been responsible for many international hits since its creation in 1984. Its films have earned billions of dollars, and they have won many film awards, including dozens of Academy Awards and BAFTA Awards, but also accolades in Cannes, Berlin or Venice. Yet, some commentators criticize Working Title for being excessively influenced by Hollywood, hence lacking cultural ambitions. They blame the company's partnership with Universal and underline that some of its films broadcast a stereotypical view of Britishness, especially successful comedies by Richard Curtis, or the ones starring Rowan Atkinson. Indeed, the company's first film was My Beautiful Laundrette (Stephen Frears, 1985), a creative, committed film, but its more recent films tend to be more mainstream and its first international hit was Four Weddings and A Funeral (Mike Newell, 1994). However, Working Title seems to draw some of its strength from its British identity. Tim Bevan and Eric Fellner, the two producers behind Working Title, also defend its “European sensibility”. The latter is reinforced by a partnership with PolyGram Filmed Entertainment in the nineties, and then with StudioCanal. So it is a transnational rather than a transatlantic company. Its films are transnational too, and some plots even include intercultural relationships. They use various strategies to broaden their audience, such as crossover and polysemy, and they try to balance cultural specificity with universality. However, most importantly, one cannot deny the incredible diversity of the films – regarding both their national identity and their level of creativity. Therefore, Working Title offers a fascinating case study to learn more about the issues of British cinema, about its identity (national / post-national cinema), the balance between art and industry, its relationship with Hollywood, and the role of cultural policies. In other words, this dissertation will study the evolution of Working Title Films, focusing on its methods, its strategies and also on the textual analysis of its diverse films, as a way to investigate contemporary British cinema and its issues

The application of analog current mode circuits is discussed in this thesis. A universal biquard filter synthesized by current conveyor is presented. This biquard uses four kinds of current mode elements with grounded resistors and capacitors. With its three output terminals, this biquard can realize second order high-pass, band-pass, and low-pass functions. A new multi-output current differential buffer amplifier (MOCDBA) is also presented. With the second generation current conveyor (CCII), the current feedback amplifier (CFA), and the differential difference current conveyor (DDCC), the design and realization of this biquard is discussed by applying the idea of two-integrator loop, signal flow graph, and transmission zeros. The DC characteristics of the active elements mentioned in this thesis were simulated by inserting the 0.5um 2P2M process parameters from UMC to verify with the theoretical values. Also, the biquard functions were simulated in the same way. The sensitivity analysis, the worst case analysis of process variations, and the noise analysis are discussed in this thesis as well. Furthermore, the interference to the universal filter caused by the influence of environment to the devices, the process variation during actual processing, and internal noise sources are also presented respectively.

In this paper, an operational transresistance amplifier (OTRA) was use to design circuit. But between the OTRA characteristic equation and operator transconductance amplifier (OTA) has Dual Relationship, looking from the dual condition, it possibly and OTA has the coordinated merit. OTRA input end virtual ground, therefore does not have parasitics effect. It is only one may eliminate input end parasitics effect active comoponent. Because has this special characteristic, therefore this paper only then uses this comoponent to design the filter. This paper uses three active comoponent, two capacitance and eight resistances. We can design to High-Pass, Low-Pass, Band-Pass, Notch and All-Pass filter signals the second-order voltage-type filter circuit. Secondly, to explore how to adjust the capacitance value and transduction value of OTRA to absorb the parasitic effects in order to obtain more accurate filter circuits. This paper has not used the part in design a circuit's process to capacitance of at least the number of components, this is a very good merit. Finally, may know in circuit simulate's result, this paper designs of output signal's the electric circuit magnitude of error is below 5%, the sensitivity is below 1.

Abstract This thesis mainly discusses the applications of current-mode active elements. One of the applications is the structures of current-mode universal filters, and the other is the designing method of a filter. It’s proposed two new universal filters. The first one is a voltage-mode universal filter, and the second one is a universal filter with current input applying KHN (Kerwin-Huelsman-Newcomb) configuration. In this thesis, the Differential Difference Current Conveyors (DDCC’s) are used to realize the first proposed filter circuit structure. The proposed universal filter employs two-integrator Loop structure and signal flow diagram method to collocate transmission-zeros rule for explaining the design and the principle of the filter. Hspice simulator applying UMC 0.5μm 2P2M process parameter is used to simulate the characteristics and feasibility of the proposed circuit. The passive elements of the circuit are all grounded and suitable for high frequency operation and monolithic chip implementation. The second part of the thesis introduces the process of designing impedance simulators and circuits of negative resistors. Simulation results of the negative resistor circuit are used to examine the principle. Finally, this thesis employs Current Feedback Amplifier (CFA) and Current Differencing Buffered Amplifier (CDBA) to synthesize the proposed new KHN filter and construct the configuration using signal flow diagram. Hspice simulation results of the proposed KHN universal filter coincide with the theoretical results.

Abstract A new configuration for realizing voltage-mode universal biquadratic filter by using three current-feedback amplifiers (CFAs), two capacitors and four resistors is presented. The proposed configuration can realize lowpass, bandpass, highpass, notch and allpass transfer functions. Some of the derived filter types from the proposed universal biquadratic filter have the advantage of having one (or two) more simultaneous output filter responses. One of the derived filter types has the advantages of realizing non-inverting lowpass, inverting bandpass and non-inverting highpass signals simultaneously with high input impedance and grounded capacitors. The active and passive sensitivities are low. Because the output impedance of the CFA is very low, the output terminals of the proposed configuration can be directly connected to the next stage.

Full textWith passage of time and repeated usage of a system, component values that make up the system parameters change, causing errors in its functional output. In order to ensure the fidelity of the results derived from these systems it is thus very important to keep track of the system parameters while being used. This thesis introduces a method for tracking the existing system parameters while the system was being used using the inherent noise of its signal source. Kalman filter algorithm is used to track the inherent noise response to the system and use that response to estimate the system parameters. In this thesis this continuous characterization scheme has been used on a Universal Invertible Amplifier (UIA). Current biomedical research as well as diagnostic medicine depend a lot on shape profile of bio-electric signals of different sources, for example heart, muscle, nerve, brain etc. making it very important to capture the different event of these signals without the distortion usually introduced by the filtering of the amplifier system. The Universal Invertible Amplifier extracts the original signal in electrodes by inverting the filtered and compressed signal while its gain bandwidth profile allows it to capture from the entire bandwidth of bioelectric signals. For this inversion to be successful the captured compressed and filtered signals needs to be inverted with the actual system parameters that the system had during capturing the signals, not its original parameters. The continuous characterization scheme introduced in this thesis is aimed at knowing the system parameters of the UIA by tracking the response of its source noise and estimating its transfer function from that. Two types of source noises have been tried out in this method, an externally added noise that was digitally generated and a noise that inherently contaminates the signals the system is trying to capture. In our cases, the UIA was used to capture nerve activity from vagus nerve where the signal was contaminated with electrocardiogram signals providing us with a well-defined inherent noise whose response could be tracked with Kalman Filter and used to estimate the transfer function of UIA. The transfer function estimation using the externally added noise did not produce good results but could be improved by means that can be explored as future direction of this project. However continuous characterization using the inherent noise, a bioelectric signal, was successful producing transfer function estimates with minimal error. Thus this thesis was successful to introduce a novel approach for system characterization using bio-signal contamination.
