Abstract:

Die Zoologische Sammlung der Universität Rostock blickt auf eine wechselvolle Geschichte zurück. Phasen des Niederganges wechselten mit Zeiten von Erholung und Weiterentwicklung ab. Auch Unterbringung, Schwerpunktsetzung und Ausrichtung der Sammlung haben sich immer wieder verändert. Von den fünf Perioden der Zoologischen Sammlung an der Universität Rostock, die sowohl chronologisch als auch nach ihrer Ausrichtung und nach spezifischen inhaltlichen Schwerpunkten unterschieden werden können, soll in dieser Arbeit die Rede sein. Dabei wird nur dann auf einzelne Objekte oder Personen eingegangen, wenn sie in besonderer Weise mit der Geschichte der Sammlung verknüpft sind. Die Zoologische Sammlung ist eine der wenigen Einrichtungen der Universität Rostock, die seit ihrer Gründung im Jahre 1775 permanent existiert, allerdings nicht an dem Ort, an dem sie sich heute befindet, und auch nicht mit ihrer heutigen Ausrichtung als universitäres museales Schaumagazin und Forschungssammlung. The Zoological Collection of the University of Rostock over the course of time Abstract: The Zoological Collection of the University of Rostock looks back on an eventful history. Phases of decline alternated with periods of recovery and further development. The accommodation, focus and orientation of the collection have also changed several times. The five periods of the Zoological Collection of the University of Rostock, which can be distinguished chronologically as well as according to their orientation and specific thematic emphases, are presented in this paper. Individual objects or persons will only be mentioned if they are linked to the history of the collection in a special way. The Zoological Collection is one of the few institutions of the University of Rostock that has existed permanently since its foundation in 1775, although not at the present location, nor with its current orientation as a university showroom and research collection.

Abstract:

Es wurden die Flechten, die Dr. Andreas Bick in der Umgebung der russischen Antarktis-Station Bellingshausen zwischen Januar 1986 und März 1987 sammelte und im Botanischen Garten der Universität Rostock liegen, bestimmt. Es konnten 24 Arten nachgewiesen werden, davon gehören der Wuchsform nach zwölf Arten zu den Krusten-, acht Arten zu den Strauch- und vier Arten zu den Laub- oder Blattflechten. Antarctic lichens in the herbarium of the University of Rostock The lichens were determined that Dr. Andreas Bick had collected in the surroundings of the Russian Antarctica station Bellingshausen between January 1986 and March 1987, and that are deposited in the Botanical Garden of Rostock University. Altogether, 24 species have been identified. Concerning the growth form, 12 species are crustose, 8 species fruticose and 4 species foliose lichens.

Abstract:

Ragnar Kinzelbach hat das langjährige Projekt der zoologisch-botanischen Austauschpraktika der Moskauer und der Rostocker Universität mit der ihm eigenen Vehemenz tatkräftig unterstützt und begleitet. Zweimal nahm er am Feldpraktikum in Russland am Weißen Meer teil. In diesem Beitrag wird dieses Randmeer vorgestellt und mit der Ostsee verglichen, einschließlich der postglazialen Entwicklung. Ein bis heute noch nicht endgültig entschiedenes Thema ist die Diskussion um Glazialrelikte der Ostseefauna, die zum Teil mit dem Weißen Meer in Verbindung stehen. Es wird eine Übersicht der Fischgemeinschaft des bis in die Arktis reichenden Weißen Meeres gegeben und auf Besonderheiten verwiesen. Mit weniger als 50 marinen Fischarten, von denen nur 32 etabliert sind, ist es sehr artenarm. 23 Fischarten konnten als Belege für die Zoologische Sammlung der Rostocker Universität gesammelt werden. Zoological and botanical excursions to the White Sea – its fish community and historical connections to the Baltic Sea Abstract: With his characteristic vehemence, Ragnar Kinzelbach actively supported and accompanied the longstanding zoological-botanical students exchange project between the universities of Moscow and Rostock. Twice he participated in the field courses in Russia at the White Sea. This paper presents this marginal sea in comparison with the Baltic Sea, including the postglacial development. A topic that has not yet been conclusively resolved is the discussion of glacial relicts of the Baltic fauna, some of which are associated with the White Sea. An overview of the fish community of the White Sea, which extends into the Arctic, is given and special features are pointed out. It is a very species-poor sea, with fewer than 50 marine fish species, of which only 32 are established. 23 fish species were collected for the zoological collection of the Rostock University

Abstract:

Aus Anlass des 50. Jahrestages der Entstehung einer eigenständigen Kinderneuropsychiatrie an der Universität Rostock und der damit verbundenen Errichtung des ersten Lehrstuhls in der DDR wird die Entstehungsgeschichte untersucht. Einerseits fand diese Entwicklung im Kontext der allgemeinen Autonomiebestrebung der jungen Fachdisziplin statt, wie sie nach dem Zweiten Weltkrieg in Europa und auch im deutschsprachigen Raum deutlich vorangeschritten war. Andererseits spielten neben lokalen Entstehungsbedingungen aber auch gesellschaftspolitische Einflüsse eine wichtige Rolle. In diesem Zusammenhang werden zudem zwei Protagonisten der Kinder- und Jugendpsychiatrie, Franz Günther von Stockert (1899–1967) und Gerhard Göllnitz (1920–2003), vorgestellt, die diese Entwicklung in Rostock, wenn auch unterschiedlich, voranbrachten. Durch die Einrichtung eines Lehrstuhles und einer selbstständigen Abteilung konnte sich die Neuropsychiatrie des Kindes- und Jugendalters in der DDR als eigenständiges Fachgebiet zunehmend etablieren. Denn damit wurden letztlich die Voraussetzungen für die einheitliche Lehre, Forschung, medizinische Betreuung und Ausbildung in der DDR geschaffen.

ZusammenfassungDie Universität Rostock und die Universitätsmedizin als Gründungsfakultät ist die drittälteste Alma Mater in Mitteleuropa – 2019 hat sie ihr 600-jähriges Bestehen gefeiert. Die Klinik und Poliklinik für Dermatologie und Venerologie der Universitätsmedizin Rostock kann auf eine ähnlich lange Tradition zurückblicken – sie ist das drittälteste Ordinariat nach Breslau und der Charité in Berlin. Gemäß dem universitären Motto „Traditio et Innovatio“ hat sich aus dieser Tradition, begründet durch angesehene Ordinarien wie Wolters, Frieboes oder auch Flegel zu DDR-Zeiten, in den letzten 4 Jahren eine moderne universitäre Dermatologische Universitätsklinik (DUK) mit hoher Entwicklungsdynamik und einem Masterplan DUK2030 für alle Bereiche der Krankenversorgung, Forschung und Lehre entwickelt. Unter einem Dach sind stationäre, teilstationäre, ambulante und operative Patientenversorgung zusammen mit dem histologischen und klinischen Labor und den Forschungslaboren vereint. Unter anderem durch Zentrumsgründungen vor Ort (Hautkrebszentrum, Immuntherapiezentrum, Allergologisches Zentrum, Gefäß- und Wundzentrum, Zentrum für Seltene (Haut-) Erkrankungen) und auf europäischer Ebene (Europäisches Referenznetzwerkzentrum für seltene Hauterkrankungen) hat diese interdisziplinäre Zusammenarbeit die Klinik lokal und überregional sehr gut vernetzt. Ein junges, hochengagiertes und noch expandierendes Team hat diese bisherige Entwicklung ermöglicht. Dafür kann allen Beteiligten nicht genug gedankt werden. Dieser und die folgenden Artikel geben einen Einblick in die dermatologische Welt der Universitätsmedizin Rostock.

Abstract:

Galápagos-Riesenschildkröten sind ausschließlich auf dem Galápagos-Archipel im Pazifischen Ozean zu finden. Dort leben sie sowohl in regennassen Regionen als auch in Gebieten mit spärlicher Vegetation. Sie sind tagaktiv und wandern vom Hochland zu ihren Eiablageplätzen in wärmeren Küstengebieten. Sie können ein sehr hohes Alter erreichen, in der Regel werden sie 50–80 Jahre alt. Im Jahr 2020 verzeichnete das Europäische Zuchtbuch für Galápagos-Riesenschildkröten 108 Tiere in 23 Zoos und Einrichtungen. In Europa wird diese Art in 12 Zoos gezeigt, darunter in Rostock und Hoyerswerda. Im Jahr 2012 wurden im Rostocker Zoo fünf Tiere gehalten, die alle aus dem Zoo Zürich kamen. Im Juni 2019 wurde eine der fünf Schildkröten, Elvida, tot in ihrem Gehege aufgefunden. Elvida wurde zur Sektion an das Leibniz-Institut für Zoo- und Wildtierforschung in Berlin übergeben. Danach wurde sie im Museum für Naturkunde Berlin präpariert. Die Präparation erfolgte mit einem Imprägnierverfahren, bei dem das Wasser der Zellen durch Polyethylenglykol (PEG) ersetzt wird. Seit Dezember 2020 ist das Exponat der Galápagos-Riesenschildkröte Elvida Teil der Zoologischen Sammlung der Universität Rostock, wo es den Studierenden für Lehrzwecke zur Verfügung steht und Teil der Ausstellung ist. Relocation of a Galapagos giant tortoise from the Zoological Garden to the Zoological Collection Abstract: Galápagos giant tortoises are found exclusively on the Galápagos archipelago in the Pacific Ocean. There they live both in rain-wet regions and in areas with sparse vegetation. They are diurnal and migrate from the highlands to their egg-laying sites in warmer coastal areas. They can reach a very old age, usually they live 50–80 years. In 2020, the European Studbook for Galápagos giant tortoises listed 108 animals in 23 zoos and institutions. In Europe, this species is kept in 12 zoos, including Rostock and Hoyerswerda. Five individuals were kept at Rostock Zoo in 2012, all of which came from Zurich Zoo. In June 2019, one of the five tortoises, Elvida, was found dead in her enclosure. Elvida was handed over to the Leibniz Institute for Zoo and Wildlife Research in Berlin for dissection. After finishing the dissection, it was prepared at the Museum für Naturkunde Berlin. The preparation was carried out with an impregnation procedure in which the water of the cells is replaced by polyethylene glycol (PEG). Since December 2020, the exhibit of the Galápagos giant tortoise Elvida has been part of the Zoological Collection of the University of Rostock, where it is available to students for teaching purposes and is part of the exhibition.

Abstract:

Im Rahmen des Moduls „Artenkenntnis und Taxonomie“ des Masterstudiengangs Integrative Zoo- logie an der Universität Rostock fand vom 10.-14. Juli 2023 ein Freilandkurs an der Küste und im Hinterland der südlichen Lübecker Bucht in Nordwestmecklenburg und auf dem Priwall (Schleswig- Holstein) statt. Dabei wurden Arten aus verschiedenen Arthropoden-Gruppen im Gelände registriert oder mit unterschiedlichen Methoden gefangen und anschließend mit Hilfestellung von Fachkundi- gen der jeweiligen Artengruppen bestimmt. Insgesamt 379 Arthropoden-Arten konnten identifiziert werden. Die Funddaten werden im vorliegenden Bericht gelistet und die untersuchten Standorte an- hand charakteristischer Arten kurz vorgestellt. Es gelangen die Nachweise einiger faunistisch beson- ders interessanter sowie gefährdeter Arten der Insekten, vor allem in den Gruppen der Lauf- und Kurzflügelkäfer (Carabidae, Staphylinidae), Stechimmen (Aculeta) und nachtaktiven Schmetterlinge (Lepidoptera). Die Ergebnisse zeigen, dass eine auf Artenkenntnis und Biodiversitätserfassung ausge- richtete Lehrexkursion wertvolle Beiträge zur Erkundung einer regionalen Fauna liefern kann.

In this article Steve Earnest discusses contemporary approaches to performance training in Germany, comparing the content and methods of selected programmes from the former Federal Republic of Germany to those of the former German Democratic Republic. The Hochschule für Musik und Theater Rostock and the University of the Arts in Berlin are here utilized as primary sources, while reference is also made to the Bayerische Theater-akademie ‘August Everding’ Prinzregententheater in Munich, the Hochschule für Musik und Theater ‘Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy’ in Leipzig, and Justus Leibig Universität in Giessen. The aim is to provide insight into theatre-training processes in Germany and to explore how these relate to the national characteristics that have emerged since reunification. Abstract:

ZusammenfassungEs wurde der Zusammenhang zwischen delinquentem Verhalten und der Aufmerksamkeitsdefizit-Hyperaktivitäts-Störung (ADHS) untersucht. Erfasst wurden 67 Patienten des Entziehungsmaßregelvollzugs nach § 64 StGB (Klinik für Forensische Psychiatrie Universität Rostock) und durch Screening das Vorliegen einer ADHS bestimmt. Die Prävalenz von ADHS-assoziierten Symptomen betrug 65,7%, Cut-off-Bereiche in einzelnen Tests erreichten 17 bis 32%. Anlassdelikte der Unterbringung waren mit 76% vor allem Gewaltdelikte wie Tötungen (Mord bzw. Totschlag) und Körperverletzungen, daneben Raub und Sexualdelikte. Die Symptome aus dem Krankheitsspektrum einer ADHS stellen einen bedeutsamen Vulnerabilitätsfaktor im Zusammenhang mit Straftaten dar, der Schweregrad der Delikte ist größer, das Einstiegsalter in die Kriminalität beim Vorliegen einer ADHSSymptomatik deutlich geringer. Bei Sexualdelinquenz stellt die ADHS wohl einen erhebli-chen Risikofaktor dar. Im Maßregelvollzug sollte neben der Behandlung von Störungen der Sexualpräferenz und Persönlichkeit eine Therapie der ADHS-Symptomatik erfolgen. Eine frühzeitige Therapie erscheint indiziert, um späteren kriminellen Verhaltensweisen effizient entgegen zu wirken. Daten zur Rezidivprophylaxe im Langzeitverlauf fehlen.

Abstract:

Die Universität Hamburg implementiert zusammen mit anderen Partneruniversitäten ein E-Learning-Programm, das in der Methodenlehre und Statistikausbildung eingesetzt werden soll. Dieses Programm, der Methodenlehre-Baukasten (MLBK), verfolgt ein didaktisches Konzept, das sich an der kognitivkonstruktivistischen Lerntheorie von Jean Piaget orientiert und sich an Jerome Bruners Konzept des entdeckenden Lernens anlehnt. Dieses didaktische Modell ist für die Zielgruppe des MLBK, Studierende der Sozialwissenschaften in den Anfangssemestern mit Ängsten und Desinteresse gegenüber Statistik (Statistik-Angst, s.u.), unserer Annahme nach besonders gut geeignet. Eingesetzt wird der MLBK an den vier beteiligten Universitäten Hamburg, Bremen, Rostock und Greifswald in den grundständigen Studiengängen Psychologie, Erziehungswissenschaften und Soziologie. Im Laufe der Evaluation gilt es zunächst, aus der Stichprobe aller teilnehmenden Studierenden diejenigen zu identifizieren, die unsere Zielgruppe ausmachen. Das geschieht mit Hilfe eines Fragebogens, der die Statistik-Angst misst. Als weiteres Merkmal zur Bestimmung der Zielgruppe erfolgt eine Gruppierung der untersuchten Personen vorab gemäß ihrer kognitiven Lernstile. Die Evaluation des MLBK untersucht systematisch, welche Lernchancen die Zielgruppe durch das Lernsystem erhält. Deshalb wird der Mehrwert des MLBK nicht global und kontextfrei ermittelt, sondern in Relation zu den Bedürfnissen der angestrebten Zielgruppen.

Abstract:

IntroductionAgeing-related processes such as cellular senescence are believed to underlie the accumulation of diseases in time, causing (co)morbidity, including cancer, thromboembolism and stroke. Interfering with these processes may delay, stop or reverse morbidity. The aim of this study is to investigate the link between (co)morbidity and ageing by exploring biomarkers and molecular mechanisms of disease-triggered deterioration in patients with pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC) and (thromboembolic) ischaemic stroke (IS).Methods and analysisWe will recruit 50 patients with PDAC, 50 patients with (thromboembolic) IS and 50 controls at Rostock University Medical Center, Germany. We will gather routine blood data, clinical performance measurements and patient-reported outcomes at up to seven points in time, alongside in-depth transcriptomics and proteomics at two of the early time points. Aiming for clinically relevant biomarkers, the primary outcome is a composite of probable sarcopenia, clinical performance (described by ECOG Performance Status for patients with PDAC and the Modified Rankin Scale for patients with stroke) and quality of life. Further outcomes cover other aspects of morbidity such as cognitive decline and of comorbidity such as vascular or cancerous events. The data analysis is comprehensive in that it includes biostatistics and machine learning, both following standard role models and additional explorative approaches. Prognostic and predictive biomarkers for interventions addressing senescence may become available if the biomarkers that we find are specifically related to ageing/cellular senescence. Similarly, diagnostic biomarkers will be explored. Our findings will require validation in independent studies, and our dataset shall be useful to validate the findings of other studies. In some of the explorative analyses, we shall include insights from systems biology modelling as well as insights from preclinical animal models. We anticipate that our detailed study protocol and data analysis plan may also guide other biomarker exploration trials.Ethics and disseminationThe study was approved by the local ethics committee (Ethikkommission an der Medizinischen Fakultät der Universität Rostock, A2019-0174), registered at the German Clinical Trials Register (DRKS00021184), and results will be published following standard guidelines.

Detlev Blanke naskiĝis la 30-an de Majo 1941 en Neumünster (norda Germanujo) kaj kreskis proksime al la ĉebalta urbo Wismar. Kiel abituriento en 1959 li ekstudis ĉe la universitato de Rostock kaj poste dum kvar jaroj laboris kiel mezlerneja instruisto pri la germana kaj geografio proksime al Wismar. Jam en 1957 li memstude lernis Esperanton, kies movado ja en GDR (Orienta Germanujo) rajtis reorganizi sin nur depost 1965. Sed jam en la antaŭa tempo li agitis, kiel li mem esprimis, 'duonlaŭleĝe', prelegante pri Esperanto, gvidante kursojn kaj verkante artikolojn por gazetoj. En 1964 en Rostock li organizis la unuan interlingvistikan seminarion en GDR-a universitato. En tiu tempo Blanke jam aktivis internacie en TEJO.

La lernejano Detlev Blanke lernis Esperanton aŭtodidakte en 1957. Kiel studento en la Universitato de Rostock li komencis aktivi por la movado, antaŭ ol ĝi estis oficiale permesita. Poste li helpis krei la organizan kadron por Esperanto en GDR. Ekde 1968 li estis sekretario en la Kulturligo, respondeca pri Esperanto. Paralele li dediĉis sin al interlingvistiko kaj Esperantologio (doktoriĝo kaj habilitiĝo en Humboldt Universitato, Berlino). Dum multaj jaroj li estis por esperantistoj en kaj ekster GDR la ĉefa vizaĝo de la orientgermana movado. Li ĉiam konsciis la cirkonstancojn de fermita ŝtato kaj zorge atentis, ke esperantistoj ne kunpuŝiĝu kun la aŭtoritatoj. Lerte li klopodis ekspluati la ŝancojn de Esperanto en la 'niĉo', kiun la reĝimo allasis. Post la ekrego de Gorbaĉov li komencis transiri al pli (mem)kritika pozicio. En 1990/91, en la procezo de germana reunuiĝo, li kontribuis al la kuniĝo de la okcidenta kaj orienta Esperanto-asocioj en Germanio. En 1991 li kunfondis Societon pri Interlingvistiko, kiun li prezidis dum dudek jaroj.

No wonder the first printed book from which the era of the printed word began in the culture of the world was the so-called 42-Line Bible of J. Gutenberg (in Latin, published in c. 1456).There are in total 149 pieces (or separate parts) of the Bible in the Vilnius University Library, issued between 1501 and 1600. The majority of these editions were published in Latin (70% of the Bibles), so it is natural that in the 16th century the printed Latin Bible (Vulgate) experienced its age of flowering in Europe (in total, 438 editions of Vulgate were issued ). The path of the Holy Scripture to the former Grand Duchy of Lithuania (GDL) varied from such Catholic countries as France (the latter “presented” the bulk – over 25% – of Bibles kept at the Vilnius University Library from the 16th century), Belgium, Poland, Italy, Austria to such a “heretical” land as England, or such Protestant towns as Geneva, Basel, Strasbourg, Zurich and quite a few towns of Lutheran Germany such as Nuremberg, Frankfurt am Main, Leipzig, Rostock, etc. There is also the Holy Script published in the GDL – the famous Brest (or Radvila) Bible (issued in 1563). The wide geography of the publications’ origin as well as the miscellaneous (from the point of view of confessions) cast of Bibles’ editors, commentators, translators or publishers raises certain questions about the existence of ecclesiastical discipline in the GDL, for in accordance with various Indices librorum prohibitorum (Indexes of Prohibited Books), which were obligatory for Catholics, almost 46% of the 16th-century Holy Scriptures in the present Vilnius University Library were forbidden to be used at one time. On the other hand, the markings of ownership (provenances) in these books show that of all the 16th-century Bibles kept at the Vilnius University Library, which have such markings (91 copies), even over ¾ for some time belonged to monasteries, Catholic churches and colleges. Furthermore, more than half of private owners consisted of Catholic clergy and monkery. Talking of separate monasteries, the provenances also indicate that the majority of the 16th-century Bibles found their way to the Vilnius University Library from the Grodno Dominicans; the most affluent “donors”among monkhood were Franciscans (including both Observants and Conventuals). These findings, though indirectly, indicate the influence of Western and Central Europe on the religious life of the 16th-century GDL through the Holy Script – the fundamental writing for Christians.

Анотація У статті за допомогою комплексного, системного підходу висвітлюється стан вивчення соціокультурного простору російського міста другої половини XIX – початку XX ст. в російській історіографії. Здійснено неупереджений аналіз накопиченого доробку дореволюційних, радянських та сучасних російських істориків, який стосувався як вивчення окремих складових соціокультурного простору російського міста зазначеного періоду, так і трактування його соціокультурного образу. Виокремлено основні групи праць з історіографії проблеми та встановлено персональний внесок їх авторів у її розробку. Виявлено, що у дореволюційній та радянській історіографії соціально-культурні проблеми російського міста не належали до найважливіших напрямів дослідження, а грунтовне вивчення міського соціокультурного простору розпочалося порівняно недавно. Abstract:

Die Sprachenzentren der Universität Greifswald und der Universität Rostock haben beide im WS 22/23 Pilotprojekte zur Gebärdensprache initiiert. Die gewählten Ansätze unterschieden sich hinsichtlich des intendierten Lernfortschritts bzw. -ziels (A1.1 vs. A1) und der Kursleitung (gehörlos vs. nicht gehörlos). Die Kurse wurden während des Semesters durch jeweils zwei Evaluationen und zwei leitfadengestützte Interviews begleitet. Während im Rahmen der Evaluation die Motivation zur Kursteilnahme der Studierenden, ihre Zufriedenheit mit dem Kurs im Allgemeinen und ihrem Lernfortschritt abgefragt wurde, zielten die Interviews darauf ab, detailliertere Informationen über mögliche didaktische Unterschiede zu sammeln und ob Studierende die Verortung dieses Kursangebots an den Sprachenzentren der Universitäten als sinnvoll erachten. Die Kursevaluationen ergaben sowohl erwartete als auch unerwartete Ergebnisse, die in diesem Bericht des Pilotprojekts präsentiert werden.

Der Lehrstuhl für Mikrofluidik der Universität Rostock bearbeitet zusammen mit Stenzel MIM Technik ein Projekt zum Druck eines 3D-MIM-Spritzgießwerkzeugs. Grundlage der Entwicklung ist der Einsatz der CEM-Technik von AIM3D mit einer ExAM 255-Anlage. Die ExAM 255-Anlage vereine hohe Präzision der 3D-Bauteile mit hohen Aufbaugeschwindigkeiten für das Additive Manufacturing. Die Bereitstellung eines MIM-Werkzeuges durch ein AM-Verfahren verkürze im Vergleich zu einem konventionellen Ansatz in der Zerspanung den Zeitaufwand von Wochen auf wenige Tage.
