Full textThis research in social economy concerns the following subject: "development and university in algeria". The first part studies the algerian development model inserted in the industrializing industries strategies. These industries were supposed to contribute essentially to agricultural modernisation. In fact, the main fonction of the two industrial branches selected as industrializing (iron works and oil industry) was to assure the agricultural mechanisation and chemisation by the creation of other industrial branches. The second part studies the situation of algerian's university in reference to the development's requirements, evaluating the results, as well as showing that man's education, considered a previous condition, was supposed to create a radical change of economical structures, in order to apply an integrated and coherent economy

Full textIn this thesis, evolutionism and Transaction Cost Economics approaches are applied to understand a forty years long term evolution of Franche-Comté's watch industry. In an evolution outlook, the all over industrial trajectory starts up from Local System Productive initial conditions under mechanical watch type. The coordination defects, analysed by Transaction Cost Economics, induce durable difficulties on cooperation, while hyperspecialization is scarcely propitious to technological transformations as electronic watch and world market changes. Some institutions manage to escape the heavy tendancies and innovate but their efforts could not stop a regression tendancy due to time lap between the slow transformation process of institutions and the fast desintegration of industrial system

Full textThe aim of this study is to determine the aerodynamic and biomechanical factors influencing cyclists performance during Time Trial stage (TT). The aerodynamic drag force represents over 90% of the power generated by the cyclist during TT stage. The aerodynamic optimization of the cyclist posture and equipment is thus a main objective. Experimentations were carried out in the wind tunnel S1L of the Institute of Movement sciences, in order to measure the aerodynamic drag force of cyclist according to different configurations. Measurements of the projected frontal led to a modeling of the cyclist frontal area value according to postural parameters. Aerodynamic performance of several TT helmets was characterized by measurement of the velocity fields in their downstream wake using a PIV-3C method (Particle Image Velocimetry 3 components). Results of this study have identified an optimized geometry of TT helmets. The aim of the biomechanical approach is to study the influence of the aerodynamic postural parameters studied on the performance of the cyclists. An inverse dynamics models is used to determine the torques and forces at each leg joint according to the saddle position and the power developed. The inverse dynamic calculation requires measurement of the pedal forces and the cycling motion. The motion analysis system VICON was used and two special 6 components sensors were design for this application. Results of this study have identified postural parameters increasing the performance. The synthesis of the factors influencing aerodynamic and biomechanical performances achieves a performance improvement of about 3%

Full textWhat is needed to reactivate the confidence relations and improve the performance? The structural elements of the confidence that affect the performance of the work groups are: the common existence of objectives and values, the fulfilment of the acquired commitments and a system effective and stable communication-coordination-agreement. Both of them analyze the confidence with two complementary approaches: psychosocial and socioeconomic. The first one generated information on the beliefs and existing values, that put in evidence the existing dose of confidence in the work groups. The second, located the phenomenon from the management and studied the hidden and intangible aspects, are a potential of improvement of the performance, that allowed to transform the operation of the groups that it generated and regenerated the confidence; the socioeconomic intervention open itself to the listening the dialogue

Full textSociological metaphors (society as an organism, a machine, a theatre, etc. ) were sometimes used as models : thus the dramatic progress of both watch-making and astronomy in the mid-18th century inspired philosophers when trying to found a science of the "social system". J. - j. Rousseau's social contract (1762) follows the pattern of a watch (regulator, wheels, mail spring) to arrange his notions of "sovereignty", "government" and "state" in a "machine" which the "legislator", as a watch-maker of the time, will only design, leaving it to the others to assemble it. In the same way, adam smith's theory of moral sentiments (1759) uses "sympathy" as newton used "attraction" : the "agent", the "object" and the "spectator", engaged in a kind of "conversation" based on the "suitable" expression of passions, view each other in a "perspective" somewhat similar to the system of earth, moon, and sun, where the "impartial spectator" plays the part of the invisible "center of gravity". However, in the 19th century, sociologists like e. Durkheim were deceived by a renewed scientific environment and a conquering biology, and lost the ability of telling the metaphor from the model, when reading their 18th century predecessors

Full textThe student's first entrance at university is examined through ethnographic methods. In order to achieve the passage towards their new social status as students. The students have to use practices of affiliation. After reminding and defining the espistemological positions of contemporary sociology, several theoretical approaches are presented, particularly interactionist and ethnomethodological approaches in the field of education, which allow an analysis of social events as ongoing and practical achievements. In order to succeed, students have to learn their profession as student, that is to learn how to become a student. A process of affiliation is necessary, which consists of finding out and appropriating the routines hidden in the practices of higher education. This acquisition process is subject to the actors' ability to manipulate the practicality of the rules, whether institutional or intellectual rules, and to transform them into practical actions. Affiliating oneself, which is a condition to be a competent student, consists of naturalizing the university practices and ethnomethods in embodying them

Full textThe Treatise which shows buddha nature, written by the 3rd Karmapa Rangjoung Dorjé (1284-1339), is an important text in the Karma Kagyü lineage of tibetan buddhism. It indicates indeed the true nature of every being, the true self, and the mahāmudrā meditative practice which is specific to this lineage is grounded on that understanding. This study proposes a french translation of the Treatise which shows buddha nature and of a commentary written by Jamgön Kongtrül Lodrö Tayé (1813-1899). We also try to understand the meaning of Buddha nature presence and the reasons why we should know it to practice mahāmudrā meditation. Since Buddha nature points out an inexpressible state of consciousness, we propose to apprehend it by following the path that the ordinary consciousness should go through, in order to recognize what is true, which is emptiness-luminosity

Full textThis thesis assumes a grounded approach to social cognition, which defends that our abilities to understand others’ mental states rely on our immediate experience of sensori-motor informations in social interactions and do not need any inference processes. Some critical theorethical limits have been addressed to this approach to social cognition. Typically, it is considered that this conception can not explain high order mentalization, as, for example, the inference of social intentions, because there are not systematic links between those cognitive constructs and the systems of perception and action. Through the studies of this thesis, we have in a first time showed that the kinematics of voluntary movements are influenced by the type of social intention that is endorsed by participants. Precisely, when an action is produced for a partner, its spatio-temporal characteristics are amplified. Then, we have demonstrated that these kinematic variations are influenced by the physical properties of the partner, and particularly by the eyes’ level. Finally, our results showed that these typical kinematic variations are implicitly processed during social interaction and that they can trigger spontaneous social intention attribution. Interestingly, the ability of participants to access others’ mental states from motor action variations is strongly related to their explicit mentalizing performances. In sum, this thesis provides the first experimental evidences supporting the possibility to spontaneously access to others’ social intentions from perceptive and motor processes

Full textAbstract Fairs already existed as a phenomenon in the Middle Ages and has since then been used as a channel for sales and marketing. Today, companies and organizations compete to get the attention of visitors by creating attractive displays with the winning concept that will attract people and get them to put the company name to memory. This is what Karlstad University had in mind when they designed the specification for this project. The background to this project is that the University is represented on a number of exhibitions each year, around the country. The mission has thus been to develop a new concept with an associated design at the university's stand. The goal of this project is not primarily to get visitors to apply for the university, but that they will remember it in any future consideration regarding further studies. The project was developed using qualitative methodology. Interview manuals was designed to help identify what the communication department, student ambassadors and counselors thoughts of stand concept were. Based upon the information that these interviews showed, we created a template of key aspects to use in making new material. In addition, the communication strategy of the university studied, and theories of marketing, branding, sensory marketing and places have been processed to create the best stand concept as possible. The result created consists of a concept with accompanying printed materials. Printed matter produced includes a brochure, two sets of roll-ups and a display background. The final concept was a recurring summer theme based in the respondents' own associations and opinions, while it alludes to the University's main color that is yellow. The feeling this booth appearance should convey is that a visitor is outside Karlstad University in the summer. This feeling is reinforced by the stand's floor that is a lawn that joins the display background image representing the university and the lawn beyond. Our assumption is that this represents something beyond a normal stand concept and thus etched in the visitors memory.

Phd thesis, Université de Provence - Aix-Marseille I, 2000. http://tel.archives-ouvertes.fr/tel-00011346.

Full textFor visually impaired people, raised-line documents are important for access to knowledge. In order to respond to the specificities of haptic perception, it is necessary to simplify the amount of information available within a raised-line document. This process is called the adaptation of the content and relies on the intervention of a specialist who knows how to design content adapted to tactile exploration. As the modification is impossible, it must be printed again at each changes. Thus, the ability to use and explore digital rather than physical content is an interesting alternative. A large number of free access numerical data is available, and the adaptation of the data can be carried out by means of algorithms provided for this purpose. However, digital documents are essentially visual, and therefore inaccessible to visually impaired people as they are. The state of the art regarding haptic exploration of digital data reveals a set of solutions based on an devices (like a force feedback mouse). This approach has many limitations, including browsing the document with a single point of contact. A more functional approach is to let the user explore a digital graph with his hands: each finger can then be considered as a cursor. Feedback audio and vibration are triggered depending on the position of the finger on the digital document. However, it is necessary to know the important elements of a graph (the elements that will trigger feedback), as well as the role of each finger during the exploration. The problematic of this thesis deals with the exploration of digital spatial data by relying on haptic interactions. The goal is twofold: 1) understand how visually impaired people explore raised-line diagrams; and 2) offer haptic interaction techniques, based on personal and wearable devices, that allow visually impaired users to explore digital diagrams in different contexts (at home or at school, for example). To answer the first point, we conducted two studies on the exploration strategies of raised-line documents, according to the level of expertise of the users. We have shown that the strategies used depend on the expertise but also the type of document explored. To answer the second point, we proposed new interaction techniques based on the use of a smartwatch that allows localized feedback. We conducted two experimental studies regarding the design and evaluation of watch-based haptic interaction techniques. The first study focused on comparing the exploration of physical diagrams with that of virtual digital diagrams The results show that two of our interaction techniques allow for faster digital graphics exploration than the exploration of 3D graphics. Our second study aimed to develop and evaluate interaction techniques allowing the use of two hands while exploring digital content. The results show that bimanual strategies based on localized feedback improve digital diagrams exploration performance. The results of these studies highlight the benefits of bimanual haptic interaction. Combined with a device for tracking and tracking hands, interaction techniques developed on a connected watch could enable users to interact with digital content in many situations of everyday life

Full textThe propagation of light beams originating from synthetic ‘Type Ia’ supernovae, through an inhomogeneous universe with simplified dynamics, is simulated using a Monte-Carlo Ray-Tracing method. The accumulated statistical (redshift-magnitude) distribution for these synthetic supernovae observations, which is illustrated in the form of a Hubble diagram, produces a luminosity profile similar to the form predicted for a Dark-Energy dominated universe. Further, the amount of mimicked Dark-Energy is found to increase along with the variance in the matter distribution in the universe, converging at a value of ΩX ≈ 0.7.
It can be thus postulated that at least under the assumption of simplified dynamics, it is possible to replicate the observed supernovae data in a universe with inhomogeneous matter distribution. This also implies that it is demonstrably not possible to make a direct correspondence between the observed luminosity and redshift with the distance of a cosmological source and the expansion rate of the universe, respectively, at a particular epoch in an inhomogeneous universe. Such a correspondences feigns an apparent variation in dynamics, which creates the illusion of Dark-Energy.
