The revision of the specimens of the Epilachnini tribe, deposited in the Entomological Collection of the National University San Antonio Abad of Cusco (CEUC), allowed the identification of 30 species within the genera Epilachna Chevrolat and Toxotoma Weise. Peru is located in a seismically active location due to the interaction of the Nazca and South American plates, as well as surface faults that cause significant earthquakes across the continent. It is first ever use of CuSO<sub>4</sub>.5H<sub>2</sub>O in this reaction yielding products in excellent yields without the formation of any side products.
