Abstract:
Loop unrolling can provide more instruction-level parallelism opportunities for code and enables a greater range of instruction pipeline scheduling. In high-performance very-long-instruction-word (VLIW) digital signal processors (DSPs), there are special registers to address. To further improve the instruction-level parallelism of code for such DSPs by making full use of these registers, in this paper, we propose a more effective loop unrolling approach through extending memory accessing (LUAEMA). In this approach, the final unrolling factor is computed by a model in which every register kind

AbstractThe unrolling of Egyptian mummies was a popular spectacle in mid-nineteenth-century Britain. In hospitals, theatres, homes and learned institutions mummified bodies, brought from Egypt as souvenirs or curiosities, were opened and examined in front of rapt audiences. The scientific study of mummies emerged within the contexts of early nineteenth-century Egyptomania, particularly following the decipherment of hieroglyphics in 1822, and the changing attitudes towards medicine, anatomy and the corpse that led to the 1832 Anatomy Act. The best-known mummy unroller of this period was the sur

Abstract: Like the Torah scroll, the Esther scroll in Jewish life serves as not only a technology of text, but a symbolically charged ritual object for the liturgical theater of Purim ritual. This paper argues that in late antique Purim liturgy, the symbolic act of unrolling the scroll for the megillah reading hints at God's presence in the Book of Esther itself. Three clusters of evidence support this thesis. First, rabbinic texts describing liturgy assign symbolic value to the act of unrolling and rolling up scrolls. Second, the rabbis' choice to call Esther a 'megillah' allows them to midra

The role of Calcium ions (Ca2+) in the phytochrome-controlled unrolling of 6-d-old etiolated barley leaf sections was evaluated through the manipulation of light treatments, Ca2+ levels and antagonists and agonists of Ca2+ metabolism. The Canterbury Roll is a fifteenth-century genealogical chronicle roll that traces the succession of English kings from Noah until the Wars of the Roses. Created in a period when genealogy and ancestry had practical and ideological meaning in society, the Canterbury Roll is symbolic of the ideas of dynasty, myth and heritage that its original creators and readers valued. This thesis departs from previous historiographical approaches to genealogical rolls by treating the Canterbury Roll as a document that reflects the political culture in which it was produced. Una delle più interessanti soluzioni a questo problema è dotare il software di un watermark. Ai watermark si richiede non solo di certificare in modo univoco il proprietario del software, ma anche di essere resistenti e pervasivi. Many embedded applications implement block ciphers and sorting and searching algorithms which use multiple loop iterations for computation. These applications often demand low power operation. The power consumption of designs varies with the implementation choices made by designers. The sequential implementation of loop operations consumes minimal area, but latency and clock power are high. Alternatively, loop unrolling causes high glitch power. In this work, we propose a low area overhead approach for unrolling loop iterations that exhibits reduced glitch power. A latch based glitch filter is

AbstractState-of-the-art solvers for constrained Horn clauses (CHC) are successfully used to generate reachability facts from symbolic encodings of programs. In this paper, we present a new application to test-case generation: if a block of code is provably unreachable, no test case can be generated allowing to explore other blocks of code. Our new approach uses CHC to incrementally construct different program unrollings and extract test cases from models of satisfiable formulas. At the same time, a CHC solver keeps track of CHCs that represent unreachable blocks of code which makes the unroll
