Abstract:
Zakat is one of the obligations on every Muslim with the aim of helping those who are poor and needy while at the same time purifying the wealth and soul of the contributor. There are several types of zakat and one of them is zakat on business. In discussing Shariah issues related to zakat on business, one of the topics discussed is the method of payment of zakat on business, whether paying with money, stocks or business goods or a choice between the two. In view of the need to pay zakat other than using money, especially in the case of companies which have a shortage of cash and excess unsold merchandise, the study was conducted to obtain information on the debate of scholars on the Shariah rule for payment of zakat with goods, and their potential for application in business zakat payments, in addition to the challenges and constraints in its implementation. The study utilized a comprehensive library study, analyzing the arguments and scholars’ discussions related to the subjectand selecting the preferred opinions. The findings showed that in terms of the payment method for zakat on business, some scholars viewed that the payment of business zakat must utilise money, while some stated that the payment must be in the form of goods and stocks of the business itself, while some others stated that the payment of zakat on business is the right of the contributor to choose from money or goods and stocks. The study also found that there were several issues and challenges in the implementation of zakat payments using business goods, including the existing fatwa on zakat on business that stipulated only money would be accepted as zakat payment and it must be paid to zakat authorities. The study also aimed to determine the type of goods to be accepted as business zakat payments, the method of zakat calculations on the goods and whether it should be at original cost price, current market price or premium or discount, and other issues.

What factors are cause profitability at PT Astra Otoparts, Tbk which are listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange tend to decline. This research was conducted using Qualitative Descriptive Analysis and Inductive Analysis. This research was conducted based on secondary data from company financial statements obtained from the Indonesia Stock Exchange. The results of the study can be concluded that: 1. Leverage as measured by Debt to Assets Ratio (DAR) fluctuates and tends to increase. 2. Activities measured by Working Capital Turnover (WCT) fluctuate and tend to increase. 3. Profitability as measured by fluctuating Return On Assets (ROA) tends to decrease. 4. Factors that cause decreased profitability are increased business debt, increased inventory and increased cost of goods sold so that the resulting profit decreases. The results of the study suggest: 1. It is best if the company needs to review the use of corporate debt in financing its activities by carrying out control of accounts receivable and strict supervision and evaluation periodically, so that the risk of such debts can be minimized. 2. It is better for the company to pay more attention to the management of supplies effectively and efficiently so as to produce increased sales. Effective inventory management also needs to pay attention to inventory storage so as not to overload, both obsolete inventory and unsold inventory. 3. It is better for the company to pay more attention to using its assets to generate high sales accompanied by an increase in profit after tax owned by the company to produce good profits. On the other hand the company must also consider the level of operating expenses so as not to over-pressure profits. Keywords: Leverage, Activity, and Profitability

Abstract:
Purpose – The aim of the article is to identify the limitations and critical issues in the way information in the real estate sector in Italy is currently managed, and propose the principles of a method that would provide information and comparison of the phenomenon of over-supply and non-rational land use. This study is based on a series of assumptions, the first of which is a definition of “unsold”, deemed to mean “the amount of new housing units neither occupied nor sold nor rented”. In effect, unsold stock can be considered as over-supply of construction. Design/methodology/approach – The article identifies the critical aspects in the determination of unsold real estate in Italy, starting from the available data and research already carried out; the results are often contradictory. The comparison with programming systems of building production adopted in other countries allows identification of the guidelines that can be used to better understand and combat the phenomenon. Findings – The assessment of the state -of-the-art provides a clear picture of the shortcomings and potential of the tools used to date to meet the need of studying a complex phenomenon with many obscure points. Following the empirical analysis comes out a picture of inefficiencies due to the poor quality of information, as well as the reluctance of data-sharing and -integration procedures by the institutional and market players. Research limitations/implications – The research produces solutions addressed to the Italian situation, but it identifies systems and methods used in other countries. Practical implications – The article suggests the collection systems and management information that can be used for a more accurate knowledge of unsold real estate. Social implications – The article focuses on some of the limits of the Italian real estate market, highlighting the need for greater transparency and how this can contribute to a more conscious approach to the market. Originality/value – The article seeks to provide the necessary answers to those who must understand the reasons of harmful effects for the market, such as overproduction; besides some models focused on three areas – the procedures, the organization and the market – are also proposed.

Bieniek, Milena. "Bartering: Price-Setting Newsvendor Problem with Barter Exchange." Sustainability 13, no. 12 (June 12, 2021): 6684. http://dx.doi.org/10.3390/su13126684.

Full text
Abstract:
Barter exchange is a system of swapping goods or services for other goods or services in a moneyless and direct manner. Barter has become an effective model of a circular economy because it reduces the consumption impact. Bartering maximizes the utility of assets and existing resources, and can unleash the unspent social, economic, and environmental value of underutilized assets. The present article analyzes the price-setting newsvendor problem with a barter exchange option. The retailer facing a stochastic price-dependent demand sells a product on the market and, additionally, needs another product for its own purposes. Therefore, first, the retailer trades the unsold product for the product it needs by means of barter, and next disposes of the unsold product at a discounted price at the end of the selling season. The retailer’s optimal order quantity and optimal price are derived assuming additive uncertainty in demand. This type of demand function has special characteristics, for example, the actual demand may attain negative values in times of economic uncertainty. The possibility of negative demand realizations is taken into consideration in the study. It proves that, in certain cases, the optimal solution belongs to the set of high barter prices which implies that the actual demand may be negative.

Abstract:
This study analyzes the effect of green characteristics on sales of unsold housing stock, using a multilevel growth model, in Gyeonggi Province, South Korea from 2012 to 2018. The green characteristics we estimated are external factors such as the proximity to urban parks and mountain trails located outside the housing complex and internal factors such as whether the area of communal open space within the complex exceeds a certain percentage. The results suggest that potential home-buyers are interested in green space inside rather than outside a housing complex in a suburban setting. Housing complexes with large enough communal open spaces had a 0.094 higher unsold unit ratio than complexes with small communal open spaces, but the surplus decreased more rapidly; the ratio declines by 0.028 per time unit. On the other hand, the results show no statistically significant effects of the distance to external green areas. This might be due to that public urban parks might not be an attraction to residents when forests and/or agricultural fields are in close proximity. The findings of this research will be utilized by construction companies and public institutions holding unsold units in improving their sales performance, not only in South Korea but also in other Asian regions showing a similar housing development pattern.

Abstract:
Point of sales (POS) is a system used to process sales transactions, stock goods and process data. This system is built based on web and PHP and MYSQL programming language with stock management method, namely Economic Order Quantity (EOQ). The EOQ method is a method used to determine the order of goods or purchases of goods that must be made and how many items to order. In the conventional method of determining an order in the amount of 1,200 units in one year, the ordering cost is Rp. 210,000, the price per unit is Rp. 897,955 and 5% storage. Business actors use the conventional method by purchasing 200 units with a total of 6 times and a safety stock of 50. In this study the authors use the EOQ method calculation to determine the number of goods 1200 per year. Then it will produce 106 orders of goods with a frequency of 11 times safety stock 15 and ROP 24. The conclusion of this study is to make stock calculations using the EOQ method in purchasing goods more efficiently than manual / conventional methods.

The application of Economical Order Quantity method to stock warehouse system by using Radio Frequency Identification technology can provide information that can minimize stock availability in real time. The research aims to develop the stock system using the methods of Economical Order Quantity, Reorder Point and Radio Frequency Identification technology. Computation of Economical Order Quantity is used per month with variables covering amount of raw material, ordering cost and storage cost. Reorder Point computation using lead time variable, raw material usage and safety stock. Safety stock is used if there is a delay in delivery of goods from suppliers, so it does not run out of raw materials and the company can still operate. The inventory data is obtained from transactions of incoming and outgoing goods which are recorded automatically when passing through Radio Frequency Identification reader. The computation of Economical Order Quantity, Reorder Point produces safety stock as output stock system. With the stock of goods in accordance with the fulfillment of Safety stock, then there is no delay in the delivery of goods from suppliers, so it does not run out of raw materials, after determination of the value of re-ordering.

Global warming represents a major subject on all society levels including governments, economic actors and citizens. The textile industry is often considered a polluting activity. In this project, French textile manufacturers sought to quantify the carbon footprint (CF) of sold clothes and household linen using Life Cycle Assessment in France for the purpose of reducing it to meet the constraints of Paris Agreement by 2050. First, manufacturers calculated the carbon footprint of 17 clothes and household linen products and established alternative scenarios for four production routes. Secondly, they modeled the supply of the upstream sector through different countries. Based on imports of textile products, their calculated CF for one French person reaches 442 kg of CO2eq/year. Means of action to reduce this carbon footprint by a factor of 6 (74 kg of CO2eq/person/year for textiles) are calculated and are the following: installing the most energy-intensive production processes in a country with a low carbon electricity mix, avoiding unsold goods, implementing eco-design approaches and enhancing the value of end-of-life products with reuse or recycling. Therefore, CF for textiles per capita is reduced to 43 kg CO2eq/year which goes beyond the objectives of Paris Agreement and facilitates carbon neutrality in the textile sector. The first priority for reducing the French carbon footprint of clothes and household linen would be to locate textile production in countries with (i) low carbon electricity, (ii) to reduce unsold items, and (iii) to elaborate ecodesign of product including circular economy.

Abstract:
In a bid to maximize corporate profits, many multi-national corporations and even small medium enterprises create many products and place them on shelves at hypermarkets or supermarkets. We can observe an abundance of stock keeping units on shelves as well as observe a variety of such finished goods held by various fast moving consumer goods industries in the home appliance, beverage, canned food, clothes, soft-drinks, cordials and confectionery product ranges, just to name a few. From supplier, manufacturer, distributor, wholesaler and retailer, it appears that there is a constant flow of new products and stock keeping units held for these fast moving consumer goods. We can say that we humans are a rather wasteful species because a large proportion of products become obsolete or slow moving over time and organizations push products into the marketplace to gain competitive advantage and optimize profits. Hence, there is need to address this issue in the field of Supply Chain Management because resources on this planet are limited and we humans live in a very fragile planet. Yet, as population grows, we humans have become used to this over-abundance even though the resources within this planet are becoming more and more scarce. Consumption levels have increased with population growth and with capitalist thinking, virtually anybody can develop businesses that will create products to meet human needs. In the field of Supply Chain Management, managers set polices on when to order and how much to order and the average inventory that results from these inventory replenishment policies become targets. This paper attempts to compare target days of inventory with actual days of inventory held in warehouses for a single organization with many warehouses/ stock keeping units, in an attempt to understand further approaches that can be used to improve inventory waste within supply chains.

The grouping of Mazaya products at PT. Bougenville Anugrah can still do manuals in calculating purchases, sales and product inventories. Requires time and data. For this reason, a research is needed to optimize the inventory of Mazaya goods by computerization. The method used in this research is K-Means Clustering on sales data of Mazaya products. The data processed is the purchase, sales and remaining inventory of Mazaya products in March to July 2019 totaling 40 pieces. Data is grouped into 3 clusters, namely cluster 0 for non-selling criteria, cluster 1 for best-selling criteria and cluster 2 for very best-selling criteria. The test results obtained are cluster 0 with 13 data, cluster 1 with 25 data and cluster 2 with 2 data. So to optimize inventory is to multiply goods in cluster 2, so as to save costs for management of Mazayaproducts that are not available. K-Means clustering method can be used for data processing using data mining in grouping data according to criteria.

Abstract:
Development of capital relationship occurs in many areas. We can identify the main two of them: the development of the main organizational form of business activity as joint-stock companies and the development of their reproductive activity, which is reflected in the fundamental change in the processes of formation of the cost of the goods produced by these companies. The main trend in the development of a joint stock company may be called the “socialization of capital”, which not only retains many of the old ways of the private appropriation of profits, but also creates new kinds of them. The chain of commercial structures development involves conversion of the national jointstock companies into the international joint-stock companies, or multinational companies. This, in turn, leads to the transformation of a number of states, among which we include the developed or rich countries of the world, into a kind of “joint-stock” societies, whose citizens have an opportunity to increase (through an appropriate system of maintenance of a high level of wages and social benefits) their personal consumption financed by appropriating a disproportionately large part of the total world income by the country as a whole. Such a country objectively turns into a special economic-social form of existence of the joint-stock company. The basis for such a transformation of the state into a sort of joint-stock company is a new nature of production of the majority of modern goods. It consists in the change of the creation process of goods’ value which leads to the complete subordination of all its stages to the corresponding MNC groups.

Abstract:
Merchandise inventory is very important for trading companies and manufacturing companies. Inventory is needed to create sales for a profit. Inventories are current assets that have a high enough risk in company activities if they are not considered properly. The inventory process at PT. Bina San Prima can be said to be still inefficient and ineffective because everything is still done manually, starting from the process of recording goods data, processing incoming goods data and outgoing goods data, processing goods data reports. This access does not yet have a good inventory information system, also for ordering data from suppliers there is no minimum stock data specified so that orders can be made to the supplier so that sometimes the stock is out of stock and then ordered to the supplier, and it hampers the goods if there is a purchase from the customer. The program application is an alternative solution to the problems faced by companies or agencies, especially PT. Bina San Prima, in this case, especially in making inventory reports. With this programming application, filling and storing data will be easier and safer.

Abstract:
The article considers the possibility of using a modular concept for placing and fixing various kinds of goods with the help of an innovative method of using fitting stops for transportation by rail fitting platforms. It was noted that an increase in the efficiency of rail transport is facilitated by the expansion of the nomenclature of goods transported on a specialized rolling stock. Conditions for the use of fittings for the transportation of long rails have been analyzed, and also the shortcomings of the existing technology of locating and fastening goods have been revealed. A method is suggested, the application of which will allow expanding the range of goods transported on one of the types of rolling stock - fitting platforms. The conducted researches confirm the technological effectiveness and economic attractiveness of the modular concept of the use of fitting platforms. It is noted that giving the specialized rolling stock the properties of universality will help expand the scope of use of a fleet of cars of this type. Further implementation of the necessary technical and economic calculations and tests is planned for the practical implementation of the developed concept of the transportation of long goods on fitting platforms.
