A graphene photodetector decorated with Bi2Te3 nanowires (NWs) with a high gain of up to 3 × 104 and wide bandwidth window (400–2200 nm) has been demonstrated. The photoconductive gain was improved by two orders of magnitude compared to the gain of a photodetector using a graphene/Bi2Te3 nanoplate junction. Additionally, the position of photocurrent generation was investigated at the graphene/Bi2Te3 NWs junction. Eventually, with low bandgap Bi2Te3 NWs and a graphene junction, the photoresponsivity improved by 200% at 2200 nm (~0.09 mA/W).

Der Normalzustand von einschichtigen Bi-Kupraten wurde mittels polarisationsabhängiger XAS untersucht. Es konnte eine deutliche Polarisationsabhängigkeit der CuL3- und OK-Kante innerhalb der Kupferoxidebene beobachtet werden. Insbesondere in den Merkmalen, die den dotierten Löchern zugeordnet werden. Im Rahmen dieser Arbeit wurden InSb- und verdünnt-magnetische In_{1-x}Mn_xSb Filme mittels Gasquellen-Molekularstrahlepitaxie hergestellt und deren strukturelle und elektronische Eigenschaften untersucht. Die 2 μm InSb-Dünnschichten wurden sowohl auf GaAs(001)-Substrat als auch um 4° in Richtung [110] fehlgeschnittenem Si(001)-Substrat hergestellt. In the present work, the magnetotransport measurement technique was developed and various materials, exhibiting resistances from 1 mOhm up to several tens of kOhm, were investigated in pulsed magnetic fields of up to 60 T. Phase diagrams of irreversibility and upper critical fields for pure and Zn-doped YBa2Cu3O_7-x high-temperature superconductors were measured. A high-field study of the electronic properties of the two semimetals LaBiPt and CeBiPt were presented. Magnetoresistance of La0.7Sr0.3MnO3 and La0.7Ca0.3MnO3 thin films were investigated.

Current data measured by an instrumented mooring line deployed at the Santos Basin, in a water depth of 2200 m, show a mean velocity of 0.20 m/s with no preferential direction. Extreme current events detected were associated with the presence of a pair of eddies with a dipole configuration. The jet stream created by the interaction of the cyclone-anticyclone pair was able to generate speeds up to 1.2 m/s at the first hundred meters of the water column. The oxidation behavior of five different gas turbine combustor alloy materials has been characterized in both combustion burner rig environments and in flowing air. The alloys are compared in terms of resistance to weight loss, or thinning, and also in terms of resistance to subsurface internal attack. Burner rig exposures were performed at 1095°C (2000°F) for 100, 200 and 300 hours under combustion conditions involving an air to fuel ratio of about 50:1. Basically, it works as a normal gearbox in which the pinion acts as loading element while the gear wheel is kept fixed to the frame. The creep strengths for an annealed Ni-33Fe-25Cr alloy, UNS N08120 (HAYNES® HR-120® alloy) are presented from 1100°F to 2200°F at every 100°F for lives up to 30,000 hours. The creep data is used as a basis for converting the power law method (log stress vs. log time at a defined temperature) to the usefulness of the Larson-Miller method for design creep analysis. A new empirical relationship was developed between stress, temperature and creep rupture life. This paper describes the failure of a jacketed vessel. The product pressure is 16 barg (inner vessel; D = 2200 mm) and is heated with thermal oil in the jacket (operated at 4barg). The jacket is split up in different zones which can be opened and closed separately. After a shut down, several valves were not opened properly. This resulted in blocking-in of the jacket on the top head of the vessel during the start-up and operation of the vessel. ABSTRACT This study experimentally evaluated exhaust emissions from methanol-gasoline blend (G95) and pure gasoline (G100) fuels using Spark Ignition (SI) engine. We produced methanol from Carbon (IV) Oxide (CO2) and water for transport and other applications. The methanol production involved simultaneous electrolysis of water within the anodic half-cell and catalytic reduction of CO2 within cathodic half-cell of an electrochemical set-up.
