Full textI dagens snabbt föränderliga samhälle är coaching ett begrepp, som blir allt vanligare både i individuella och organisatoriska sammanhang. Coaching är en kreativ process som hjälper individen eller organisationen att utvecklas och maximera sin potential för att nå önskade mål. Syftet med denna studie var att få en förståelse av enskilda individers subjektiva upplevelser och erfarenheter som de anser sig ha nytta av efter en specifik kurs i Personlig Coaching. Halvstrukturerade intervjuer genomfördes med de två ansvariga coacherna samt fyra kursdeltagare. Materialet analyserades enligt induktiv tematisk analys. Resultatet visar att coachernas intentioner med utbildningen i hög grad överensstämmer med deltagarnas upplevelse av kursen. Det vill säga att deltagarna tillgodogör sig konkreta metoder som de kan använda för att utnyttja sina egna förmågor och resurser bättre i vardagen.

Full textThe increased number of elderly people together with the requirement of a high qualitative and person-centered care is challenging for healthcare professionals in the field of care for the elderly. Research shows that activity has a positive impact on the quality of life of older people and nursing homes organize activities to promote the health and well-being of elderly people. At the same time, there are theories that speak of disengagement and low activity as an important and natural part of aging. Overall, however, activity seems to be something desirable for both staff and the elderly, but it is not always clear what it is about the activity that is desirable for the elderly or what factors that influence whether the activity is perceived as positive. The purpose of the study is to clarify what it is about activity that contributes to positive experiences for the elderly. The context of the activities is care homes and include everything the elderly do in addition to personal general daily living. The study is a systematic literature study and the collected data was analyzed using qualitative content analysis. The study resulted in two main categories with factors that either promote or prevent the positive experience of activity. There are factors that are difficult to influence for healthcare staff, such as financial limitations, but much is within the staff's control if they use a person-centered approach. In order to avoid negative experiences regarding activities at care homes, the degree of adaptation for the elderly should be minimized and individual desires and needs should be prioritized in the care work. Full textBackground: Previous research shows postpartum counselling beneficial, women value to talk about their childbirth experiences. Still, not all women are offered the option of postpartum counselling. Midwives find it beneficial for women to have a postpartum counselling. Midwives find they have a lack of knowledge to perform fulfilling postpartum counselling. Aim: The aim was to describe midwives’ experiences of postpartum counselling. Method: Three focus group interviews were conducted with midwives employed at the maternity ward. The interviews were semi-structured, based on a questionnaire. Qualitative content analysis was used as the analyze method. Results: One theme, four categories and 15 subcategories were identified. The theme was: Postpartum counselling today: To meet the need and challenges for the future. The categories were: The meaning of postpartum counselling for the woman, Postpartum counselling, not for everyone, To perform postpartum counselling, Conditions to perform postpartum counselling. Conclusion: The midwives’ experiences were that postpartum counselling was of importance to women, their partners but also for the midwive. The organization is in need for adjustment to be able to offer postpartum counselling based on the parents’ needs. Knowledge could be drawn from postpartum counselling for both professional development and care development. This could be one step closer to women centered care. Clinical application: The results of the study could lead to development of routines surrounding postpartum counselling. Yet there is a need for more research in the development of a postpartum counselling model. The model could clarify the content and how to perform postpartum counselling.

Full textThe research problem in this thesis concerns mathematical difficulties in pupils with specific language impairment (SLI) in upper secondary school. A large amount of research shows that there is a connection between specific language impairment and mathematical difficulties and a report from SPSM (2018) states that routines concerning pupils with SLI in upper secondary school are deficient. The purpose of the thesis is to make this group more visible by examining how some pupils with SLI in upper secondary school experience, and have experienced, their mathematical difficulties. Since the study is based on the student perspective, semi-structured interviews were chosen as a method. The five participants have all been diagnosed with SLI and attend upper secondary school. The students' stories and experiences are discussed based on the model of attribution theory, which describe how we attribute our adversities and successes. It appears that all the students have been struggling with mathematics throughout their schooling. Students explain their difficulties predominantly with stable, i.e. unchanging, factors, external as well as internal. Neither the students themselves nor the teachers they encountered have linked the mathematical difficulties with the diagnosis SLI. Based on the results, the importance of more knowledge among mathematics teachers about the relationship between SLI and mathematical difficulties is discussed, as well as the importance of collaboration between mathematics teachers and special education teachers. Furthermore, organizational changes that could facilitate this student group are discussed and moreover that one should consider how repeated failures result in reduced motivation. This is particularly relevant for students, who explain their setbacks with stable, unchanging factors, as it reduces the ability to take advantage of their capacity.
