Mahne, T. G. (Tobias Gerhardus). "Urban Water Centre : educate and celebrate." Diss., University of Pretoria, 2009. http://hdl.handle.net/2263/25666.

Abstract:
This thesis explores the role of water in urban landscape architectural design and identifies strategies that will conserve and optimise the use of water in the built environment. This is done through selecting a site in Pretoria at the intersection of the Apies River channel and Nelson Mandela drive and designing an Urban Water Centre that explores; exposes and celebrates water in the urban context. The design creates opportunities for kids from nearby schools, students from TUT, residents from the area, pedestrians and tourists to interact on a physical and emotional level with water. Educating people about water conservation is an important aspect of the project and raising awareness is the first step. The design addresses the city-wide need for green public open space and provides opportunities for urbanites to connect with water and the Apies River. This connection is established through the facilitation of significant encounters with water. These include physical contact play with water, creating interest and anticipation around rain events and through translating some of the associated attributes of water into a solid surface. The design approach is influenced by studying the Sustainable Sites Initiative’s ecosystem service approach. Green Star SA is investigated for a possible application to landscape architecture. The findings from the Sustainable Sites Initiative are enhanced by General Systems Theory and then used to generate systems that supports the desired experiences. The first and largest system lifts some of the base flow from the Apies River channel with a waterwheel, where after it is purified in a constructed wetland and a chlorine-free disinfecting process. The clean water is then displayed in a play pond that partially drains through a gravity driven vortex generator. The vortex generator aerates and cools down the water while adding movement; sound and a sense of the passage of time to the human experience. From the vortex, water flows into a constructed pebble lined stream that children can play in and experience stream ecology. The pebbles and vegetation refers back to the Apies River before it was lined with concrete. From the stream the water rejoins the channel. The second on site water system addresses rainwater. The design creates anticipation and curiosity associated with rain events. Rainwater from one of the on site buildings are harvested and displayed in a rain-meter garden. A first-flush system intercepts the first dirty water where after it drizzles down a rain-curtain into a rain-meter system. The rain-meters are large bullet resistant glass tank-like containers, calibrated to show how many millimetres of rain have fallen during the shower. A rain-sensor drains the water into a temporary wetland and lets in percolate into the underground storage tank. The third on site water system treats grey water from buildings through a stepped constructed wetland and displays the cleaned water in a jubilant motion activated display at one of the pedestrian entrances. Water from the rain-meter system; the grey water system and harvested surface runoff all contributes towards meeting the water needs of irrigation and buildings. Other eco-system service strategies identified in the study are applied in the design. These include the protection of on site biomass along with the introduction of region appropriate planting; design for- and use of waste reducing materials and the integration of on site systems to enrich the experience. Mahlangu, Nkosinathi Ernest. "Urban Soundscape: Music centre in Langa." Master's thesis, University of Cape Town, 2010. http://hdl.handle.net/11427/19085.

Full text
Abstract:
This dissertation is borne out of an interest I have in music as an expression of culture and being, its influence on social spaces and its effectiveness as a tool that transcends across cultures. The dissertation explores the nexus of sound and space, body and space and their present experiential co-existence. It seeks to explore different possibilities that would bring about a sensory and cohesive spatial phenomenon that starts to cross genres of music and performance spaces, ultimately crossing and merging cultures. When one describes music, it is within broader cultural contexts. The project makes references to both music and culture, not as separate entities, but as a unified symbiotic relationship existing between the two together with their existence and interactivity with architecture. Music, being an art form whose medium is sound, and culture, being the totality of socially transmitted behaviour patterns, beliefs, institutions, and all other products of human work and thought. Music has formed an important part of our cultures throughout history and is still to this day, part of the centre of our societies. Studying the concept of sound and space, one begins to deduct the notion that; sound and space mutually reinforce one another in our perception, in that the qualities of a space affect how we perceive a sound and those of a sound affect how we perceive space. Thus, one can safely imagine sound and space to be inextricably linked in our experience of what it is to exist in the world. The structured order of the built environment has imposed upon us ways of thinking and doing which reinforce existing patterns of our social and cultural lives. The project explores and unmasks layers that make-up these patterns by looking at music as another form of cultural expression, in a spatially conscious sphere. Essentially the paper takes on an explorative journey in unpacking relationships inherent in sound and body, body and space, space and form, form and material, and the functioning of the system as a whole.

Norton, C. A. "The role of fine urban grain in securing the diversity of the urban centre." Thesis, University of the West of England, Bristol, 2016. http://eprints.uwe.ac.uk/27546/.

Full text
Abstract:
Diversity is a key concept in urban and planning theory and policy with important physical, social and economic dimensions. It is also central to the sustainable city and a key component of vital and viable urban centres. Urban form plays a key role in physical diversity, however, its relationship with other social and economic aspects of diversity remains poorly understood. Urban grain is a key part of the urban form of all places, and it too has suffered from a lack of research and investigation. Urban grain is essentially a description of the pattern of plots in an urban block and when this pattern is dominated by small plots it is described as fine urban grain. Fine urban grain is notable as it is surrounded by numerous claims about the range of benefits that it provides for mix of use, mix of ownership, mix of business, streetscape and street life in the urban centre. These claims are very significant as they are all, in one way or another, related to the important concept of diversity. In spite of the significance of the claims, there is a lack of awareness of the role and potential benefits of fine urban grain for diversity, particularly in practice. This, alongside current processes of urban planning and property development, is slowly but surely leading to a depletion of fine urban grain in many urban centres in Ireland and Britain. A greater understanding of fine urban grain and its benefits is urgently required as its continued loss may irreversibly damage the diversity that all urban centres rely on for their survival. This research explores the role of fine urban grain in securing the diversity of the urban centre. In particular, it explores the rhetorical claims linking fine urban grain and mix of use, mix of ownership and mix of business. The lack of empirical evidence behind these claims is a significant gap in the knowledge in this area and a part of a larger issue around the need for more research on urban form, particularly at the local level. A case study approach, investigating two precincts in Dublin city centre, is adopted for the research and it utilises a range of existing and new techniques for data collection and analysis. Significantly, new advanced spatial analysis techniques for measuring urban grain and mix of use are developed for this research. The findings show the robustness of research methodology and present significant new evidence in this area. The research highlights the implications of the findings for theory and practice and it makes recommendations for change in current planning practice. The research also identifies areas where further investigation would help to reduce further the knowledge gaps in this area.

Full text
Abstract:
The present study seeks to highlight the urban heritage of Portuguese origin existing in the city of São Luís. The historical research starts with prepositions for the enhancement and preservation of this heritage, hitherto not studied or devoidly appreciated, especially by the local population. The focus will be on the listed historic urban complex of the city of São Luís do Maranhão (Brazil) built and modified between the 17th and 20th centuries. The problem stems from the realization that during the 20th century a number of intellectuals attributed a French origin to the city of São Luís, and this discourse continues to this day. On the other hand, as it has very few in-depth studies that analyze a more specific form the colonial urbanism of the city in emphasizing the Portuguese origins route of this urban fabric. This has contributed to a distorted perception of the influences that has been affected by urban planning and buildings in the city and, therefore, to inadequate treatment of these structures. Beyond being urgent and necessary, one assumes that it is only through historical knowledge that it will be possible to understand the evolution and influences that has suffered the city of São Luís throughout the period analyzed. It is only through the highlighting the real values of identity and heritage of São Luís that we will be able to change the appreciation of this heritage and the new prospects for safeguarding it. The objective of the thesis is then to reconstruct the genesis of the city and of the heritage of São Luís by emphasizing the Portuguese values that constituted the ludovicense urban fabric of still present today and its relationship with the architectural morphology that was developed there, as well as its relationship with economic and social evolution during these centuries. Finally, the aim of this work is to define strategies for valuing the urban heritage and morphological organization of the city historical center. Similarly, we will try to make the relationship with this subject and that one of the Projet Tutoré accomplished during the two years of the Master TPTI, that is, the brick, which will address the various ways of building with this material quite versatile and present throughout the world, as was the Portuguese urbanization method; RESUMO: O presente estudo busca evidenciar o patrimônio urbano de origem portuguesa existente na cidade de São Luís.

Abstract:
This research is based on a case study of Newcastle upon Tyne and seeks to understand the redevelopment process in the city and the way in this has developed and changed over time in accordance with institutional changes in governance and changes in the regime of capital circulation and accumulation. The study suggests that the theoretical framework proposed in the work of David Harvey is able to offer the potential of a suitable analytic framework for understanding of the development of built environment. Such a theorisation is able to offer not only a sensitive appraisal of the everyday mechanisms of governance and property markets in shaping built environment but also to offer a level of access to the workings which lie behind these structures. The research is therefore organised around three broad sections. First, an exploration of the suggested theoretical framework in its application to both capital circulation and state. Secondly the study addresses the historical development of Newcastle through until the beginning of the 1960s in order to demonsbate the way in which the built environment of Newcastle changed in accordance with the nature of the predominant capital regime at any point in time. Thirdly the city is considered in the light of contemporary development policies from the 1960s until 1990, in order to analyse the thesis that the main driving force influencing built environment in the city is a process of capital circulation. The research concludes that this process is maintained by public money, whilst it is still under the control of a small number of elite ruling families who originally established themselves in the city through involvement in the coal industry at least three centuries earlier. This elite has been continually sustained by public money.

Salvokop, the site chosen for this project, is due for some major changes in the next few years. Current development on Freedom Park, the future Gautrain initiative as well as a new drive by the local municipality to integrate the area into the CBD of Pretoria through a major 'Cultural Spine' throught the city make Salvokop a future destination of major interest. The Centre for the Performing Arts seeks to appeal to all facets of South African culture through a medium of expression that all appreciate: the medium of performance art. Specifically speaking, perfromance art applies to music, dance and drama. It is the ambition of this project to cater for al these forms on a level with which both public and performer may participate. Integration into the urban landscape is key, with this Centre engaging with the intended urban fabric of the area in such a way as to create a ariety of indoor and outdoor recreation and performance spaces.

Abstract:
This thesis examines issues of cultural geography arising from a major flagship project of urban regeneration, the International Convention Centre Birmingham. The thesis is specifically concerned with the reorientation of various cultural systems of space around Birmingham as part of the media discourses associated with the Centre. This is examined through the three media most associated with urban regeneration, the local press, promotional materials and public art, and the agents and institutions associated with these media. The project is particularly concerned with the ways in which these media challenge the prevailing structures of expectation that have evolved as part of a cultural system of space deeply embedded within national culture. The evolution and reproduction of the geographical dimensions of British culture, the North - South divide and the urban - rural divide are examined. The extent to which Birmingham has been ascribed an identity based on notions of peripherality derived from this cultural system of space is assessed, as well as the degree to which it has sought to redefine itself as centre by challenging the prescriptions of these dimensions. The thesis concludes that challenging these prescriptions has been a vital part of the parallel promotion of the International Convention Centre and the re-imagination of the City of Birmingham. The thesis concludes further that reference to a number of other cultural dimensions, particularly wider European and international cultural systems of space have also been important.

It was aimed in the present work to investigate the implications of the metamorphosis process in the urban centrality of João Pessoa, capital of Paraíba state, under the point of view of central uses and activities, starting in the 1970s up to present days. In the spatial ambit on which the present work focuses is a central area in João Pessoa. However, it is important to emphasize that references to other sectors of the city will be made, which have become in the last decades new places of the centrality process. The temporal picture, for its turn, follows the transformations that occurred from 1970 to present days, because since those times deep transformations were generated by post-modern paradigms. In fact it is a phase of changes in the intraurban structure of our cities, where selective shopping activities and new way of life emerged under the influences of privileged social classes anxiety in the context of consumerist society. The methodology used here included not only the bibliographical survey performed, whose importance is revealed by the theoretical basis constructed in the present work, but also the analysis of the phenomenon of changes in the centrality, where data and indicators were provided by the Laboratório do Ambiente Urbano e Edificado (Laboratory of Urban and Built Structures Environment) of the Federal University of Paraíba. The main town centre of João Pessoa sprawled predominantly towards the littoral zone along the Avenida Epitácio Pessoa and its surroundings, following the moving tendencies of high profit people. The results obtained here showed that the main town centre of João Pessoa has deteriorated physically with respect to many buildings, and the estate housing dynamics have decreased in relation to new town centres in the city of João Pessoa. However, under the point of view of commercial activities and services available, besides other vital activities for the living process in the area, the traditional town centre of João Pessoa continues to generate profits for the local economy, having the greatest number of licensed activities and a quite expressive amount of money in circulation. Thus, the vitality and urban centrality of João Pessoa town centre, reflected by the great diversity of activities of socio-economical interest is presently clearly evident.

Abstract:
This study aims to understand Seoul, capital of south Korea, from the point of view of urban form. Seoul, which is located in East Asia, is known as a major historic city in which traditions of city making and city models, which are unique in this area of civilization and inherited from ancient times, were applied. It has underwent accelerated extension and experienced radical transformations in modern era especially since the 1960s.Actual urban form of Seoul shows us complicated and subtle aspect to read : well readable one on one hand and hardly readable one on the other hand. To understand this type of urban form of Seoul we have naturally taken historic ancient center of this city as object of study. We have examined its ancient urban form and its formal transformation by means of formal analysis around following points: relations between the urban form and Zhouli’s capital model, fengshui, and traditions of city making in Korea; and relations between the urban form and particular topography ‘of fengshui’ of Seoul, and Bang-Dong system. We have paid special attention to particular structural system of B.A.C.C. and of rear road network, appeared in ancient center, and also examined the urban form on the level of urban tissue. Next, to understand ‘modern’ urban form of Seoul we have selected Gangnam district and analysed it more or less according to the same points as those above mentioned. Finally, we have explored relation between urban form of historic ancient center and that of modern Gangnam district. In this research we have considered the question of identification, firstly, of entity of urban form of Seoul, and then of characteristics of the last through using ‘practical’ analyse method of urban form which was developed in Europe.Through this study we could deduce the fact that, in the past, city of Seoul possessed particular urban formal characteristics such as hierarchy, introversion, duality, etc, which could be considered as ‘Seoul’s formal specificity’, and that a large part of this quality is succeeded in transformed present ancient center and modern Gangnam district

The research focuses on a new approach to the regeneration and revitalisation of the British city centre: the contribution of the development of residential repopulation to economic viability and social viability. This approach gained prominence following the government's recent policy statements, including the 2000 Urban White Paper, with a renewed emphasis being placed on encouraging people back to live in city centres to contribute to an 'urban renaissance'. Through surveys of residents in Swansea and Bristol city centres, this research examines the characteristics and views of city centre residents living in a variety of housing types. Particular groups appear suited to city centre life, such as the young and those employed locally. The most attractive housing is typically in single-use areas more distant from core retail and entertainment zones. It is argued that a process of 'residentialisation' rather than gentrification is operating in terms of residential development, and that new residents are 'pioneers' rather than gentrifiers. Perceived advantages of city centre life are convenience-based or lifestyle-based, and the main disadvantages are those of noise, traffic and crime. Use of the daytime city centre is frequent for all residents, but use of the night-time city is largely restricted to the young, partly because of fears experienced by other groups. This acts against the vision of a vibrant and inclusive twenty-four city. Claims for increased sustainability gain patchy support and new development is best viewed in terms of regeneration rather than sustainability. Urban regeneration is seen as underpinned by a vision of an 'urban idyll' which includes certain social groups while excluding others. Tensions exist between the promotion of a new idyll of urban living and the creation of a more inclusive society.

Abstract:
With our ever increasing global population it will be necessary for dense urban environments to develop methods of farming locally. Not only will urban agriculture be beneficial in aiding in the solution of this growing populations need for food production, but it can help to reconnect us to our food and their processes. This dissertation explores the education and reconnection of the public with the food production cycle through the experience of building integrated agriculture, vermiculture and aquaponic systems (cultivating plants and fish symbiotically). Pretoria’s Apies River is an ideal location for the establishment of a research facility of urban ecosystemic food production. The proposed urban agriculture program will allow for hands on research and development of emerging methods and technologies related to farming in the city environment while providing a platform for public education through interaction&inspiration.

Districts no are more than lines in a paper. But lines full of meanings, which have at the physicgeographycal support many social-economical and historic-cultural nuances, that make them unicals. Moreover these two sets of neighborhoods that are case studies in this research, as significant special profiles of Recife, which even confused with the very essence of the city, a sense of identity not only full of complementarity and solidarity. Abstract limits in a sense, concrete in another, whose discussion goes beyond the scope and much of the argument of a thesis, always subject on the agenda in the current urban planning, the district first and foremost is the scale of everyday life, recognition of citizen´s living space. The definition of a neighborhood and the issues which defines it correspond to the central axis of this research.

Abstract:
The coordinated management of logistics in an urban context is complex. Pooling is a practice considered by stakeholders as a potential source of urban logistics performance. Several experiences of urban pooling have failed. This research aims to understand the antecedents to the adoption of urban pooling as explanatory factors. The first part of the thesis proposes a literature review of the research fields. Chapter 1 highlights the challenges and issues of urban logistics and urban pooling. Chapter 2 defines the notion of urban pooling as an inter-organizational innovation. This leads to the formulation of three research proposals. Chapter 3 presents the identification and measurement of the antecedents’ influence on the adoption of an inter-organizational innovation. The use of the Diffusion of Innovations Theory applied to the adoption of organizational and inter-organizational innovations leads to the formulation of ten research proposals. The second part presents the empirical study. The methodology approach is developed in Chapter 4. Chapter 5 shows the five multiple case studies of urban consolidation centers. Nine antecedents to the adoption of urban pooling are validated: relative advantage, compatibility, testability, observability, voluntariness of use, perceived risk, trust, power of partners and public stakeholders’ influence

Abstract:
The amount of waste produced in the world, about thirty billion tons, has gone up three times more than the Earths population for the last thirty years. This has to do with the increase of disposable packing and the consummation and waste culture. A new clean world is possible. However, society should be aware of the tremendous harm that citizens organizations and the community provoke. The aim of this essay was to learn how management and mass characteristics of solid wastes has been held in Leopoldina, in order to suggest to the local Administration the creation of a selection centre, taking into consideration the amount of solid residue produced in the city area and the potential of recycable material which can be processed and changed into prime-matter for industry. Detailed ressearch was done in the city to learn about home garbage eighteen samples were collected ( three samples per each collection route), in october, november and december. The percentage found was as follows: 48,14 % organic matter, 14,91 % paper/cardboard, 9,66 % soft plastic, 3,28 % hard plastic, 0,81 % PET, 1,95 % ferrous metal, 0,10 % no ferrous metal, 7,97 % woven, 1,39 % glass, 0,37 % wood, 7,06 % biologically contaminated material, 031 % chemically contaminated material, 0,18 % inert and 1,22 % other materials. The percentage of recycable material was 88,58 %. It has proved the viability to create a selection centre in Leopoldina city.
Abstract:
The main aim of this research is to build a body of knowledge, which would lead to understand the relationship between socio-cultural practices and urban form within the city centre of Tripoli. The research analyses the urban form of Tripoli by comparing three areas of the city centre, which have different origin, history and layout, at the scale of the neighbourhood and urban block. The research firstly applies a quantitative approach to urban morphology through the use of two sets of indices that identify and calculate the patterns of street network and urban blocks. Secondly, the thesis investigates how the quality of street front affects social interaction in different urban patterns, based on street centrality. Finally, the research defines constitutedness, including building permeability and typological depth as well as street intervisibility, which define the relationship between public and private spaces. Aspects of the investigation includes: the historical development of the city centre of Tripoli as well as the role of Islamic principles in shaping the social life and the built environment in the traditional urban form. The research proposes a methodology for the representation of Tripoli urban fabric. This method mirrors a structural approach to urban morphology, in that it selectively only represents those aspects of the urban form (spatial factors) that may result being connected by permanent spatial relationships. “Permanent”, in this context, means recurrent in space (geography) and time (history) within relatively large and defined geographical and historical domains. Supposed permanent relationships are therefore both extrapolated and tested by means of an evidence-based approach grounded on real case analysis. The case analysis is conducted at the street neighbourhood and block scale. The research seeks to identify the process of transformation that has occurred in the evolution of the urban form through comparing three samples that typically represent different periods in the history of the city’s formation. These samples are; the traditional neighbourhood represented by the Old Town, and the colonial urban fabric including Italian and British neighbourhoods. The findings will show how the morphology of the traditional and colonial fabrics differ, how the differences modify recurrent spatial relationships and how such modification took place in history, leading to the transformation of two important urban elements; the urban block and street structures. This research argues that rather than extensive transplantation of foreign urban models, it is essential to understand local structural principles and implement them into the design of future developments in order to maintain a sense of continuity and cultural identity while responding to contemporary life requirements.

Abstract:
This paper aims to place the monumental apology represented by the Civic Center of Bucharest in its urban and socio-political context. Therefore we have analysed the reasons and decisions that led to the way it was conceived and set up, and in addition we have tried to rebuild the narrative of the history of Bucharest through the city’s prominent built heritage. For this reason we have looked into the relations between the fact of erecting buildings and remarkable spaces and the (re)construction of a Romanian national identity, beginning with the Declaration of independence and ending with the European integration, the latter standing for the supreme legitimacy granted to the Romanian State. Therefore this research engages into the analysis of the mechanisms involved in using architectural and urban productions as instruments for defining and promoting national identity. In addition it fills a gap of almost non-existent scientific work dealing with the Civic Center, which is, due to the exceptional efforts engaged in its construction, in the same time Bucharest’s emblem and scar. Finally, it deals with the question of the reception of “ideologically charged” buildings, and more generally, with the fate of urban heritage inherited from totalitarian regimes

Abstract:
This thesis is concerned with the particular way in which people perceive urban space around them. It is my position that, further to the requirements of making buildings and urban spaces that are functional and comfortable, architects have the responsibility to engage the users of their designs on deeper levels. This deeper response to one's urban environment is a characteristic that good architecture always has. Architecture that is invested with a strong sense of meaning, through the specificities of its experiential and formal qualities and with other associations it may possess (historical, cultural, etc.) plays an important role in shaping the everyday urban realities of people in the city. This document serves to present the theoretical research and outline the approach to design that I have followed, regarding my thesis design project. Both my theory of architecture and theory of technology papers have been included in this document in their entirety, as they are both frames through which I have approached the design process. Interspersed are additional sections of text and diagrammes that outline the specifics of the design project I have undertaken subsequent to (and resulting from) the initial theoretical research.

Abstract:
Our cities are plagued by "lost spaces," left over as a result of the modern movement and extensive mobility routes. These spaces result in negative areas of the city, and are associated with vagrants, pollution and crime, rendering the area and its surroundings unsafe and undesirable. This dissertation shows how, by means of acknowledging, considering and reprogramming space these areas can be reconsidered to be positive places The aim of this dissertation is to address the architectural problem of neglected space and show how, through revitalisation and insertion of functions and programs which respond to site, historical context and culture, the inherent potential of a space can be unveiled. The design and research develops a theoretically informed and sustainable approach to regenerating"lost space" and convert it into a positive architectural experience of place.

Abstract:
In this work, we analyzed the role, type and character of the large commercial establishment in the formation of the centrality in urban fringe through a relationship with the evolution of the city. We conducted the same analysis on the new town in the outskirts of Seoul. Also, we looked for a comparison between two cities, Paris and Seoul. This work is carried out around three points of view presented below : the evolution of commercial space in the urban mutation of Paris and Seoul; the role of commercial space and peripheral centrality : the case of the new town; the characteristic and evolution of shopping center : the case of Korea. Here are the contents of each part : the first part deals with contents related to the evolution of the commercial space in the urban mutation. Chapter I presents the evolution of commercial space in Paris and Seoul by distinguishing the historical evolution, the evolution of commercial space in the process of modernization, changes in lifestyle and adaptation of urban space in these developments. Chapter II provides the theoretical analysis and the definition relating to the urban center in the process of modernization that leads the development of the center and its periphery and considers the dispersion of the center, the regional distribution of large commercial establishment on the outskirts of the city and the spatial evolution of the peripheral area of Seoul. Then, Chapter III examines the type of shopping center and the nature of urban space, the composition of the commercial space, the changing patterns of consumption and the expansion of commercial equipment. In the second part, we consider the role of commercial space and the peripheral centrality about the new town. Chapter IV discusses the role of commercial space as a key element in the composition of central place in which it distinguished the policy, the spatial character of the central place and the role of the commercial establishment in the composition of the new town. Chapter V deals with content related to the current state of the large commercial establishment, the form of the central place, the state of consumer space, the principles of the urban design and the identity of Ilsan and Bundang new town, located on the outskirts of Seoul. Chapter VI analyzes the architectural characteristics, type, role of large commercial establishment located in the new town and the image of the commercial space as a place of urban activity. In the third part, we consider the characteristics and evolution of the shopping center in Korea. Chapter VII analyzes the evolution of regulations related to commercial urban planning, the evolution and the development of commercial space by giving the definition of various types of sales. Finally, Chapter VIII analyzes the shopping center as a new urban fabric considering their type and character, the nature of the spatial composition and the tendency of the complexity of these Korean institutions
