Abstract:
Sustainable urban development, healthy cities and rapid urban growth have become a major focus in Indonesia. This research aims to identify the key factors needed to achieve optimal Urban Health in Indonesia. Currently, DKI Jakarta Province is the largest metropolitan city in Indonesia, but in 2022 DKI Jakarta will be ranked 238th in the world and 48th in Asia regarding the Quality of Life Index. A symbol of success and progress in the country of Indonesia, there are 98 cities spread across all provinces, but only 8 cities are included in the metropolitan category. Abstract:
The evolution of ideas about the protection of the health of city residents is shown, starting with the emergence of the very science of urban planning in the last quarter of the 19th century. If in the works of its founder, Reinhard Baumeister, in relation to the health of citizens, the main attention was paid to their physical condition, namely sanitation and hygiene, then in the works of Camillo Sitte and Josef Stbben, who completed the formation of classical urban planning science, attention began to be paid not only to their physical, but and mental health and well-being. Ebenezer Howards idea of a garden city, which appeared as if in opposition to classical urban planning, actually turned out to be its development, as indicated by the successful implementation of the settlements of the Weimar Republic and Clarence Perrys neighborhood units, as examples of the integration of Howards ideas directly into the big city. Separately, the architecture of Swiss mountain resorts is considered, which is entirely subordinated to the promotion of health, and therefore had a direct impact on the entire architecture of the 20th century and its urban planning. In terms of time, this study is limited by the beginning of the global economic crisis of 1929 and the Great Depression, which resulted in radical changes in urban planning, due to which the issues of physical and mental health of city residents faded into the background.

Abstract:
While more than half of the world’s population lives in urban areas, health disparities across cities remain serious issues. Urban settings are a relatively new phenomenon in human history, and so is urban health. This study aims to figure out the concept of urban health and analyze research trends on urban health through systematic review. Studies published since 2010 either in English or Korean were screened; 31 eligible studies were selected for the review. The contents of the studies were categorized by urban environment, urban planning, urban policy, urban health index and health equity. Taking together urban health and healthy city, there were no significant differences in the concepts; rather, they complement each other to achieve sustainable cities and communities. While there are diverse related studies, urban health remains rare in the field. Therefore, future studies need to focus on urban health topics to resolve health disparities in the urban areas.

Abstract:
It is a well-established fact in the profession of climatologists that anthropological procedures in an urban landscape create a region-specific climate. This was followed by the realization that urban planning is an important variable as well. While this is already known, today this issue is often not addressed in practice and does not affect the very process of urban planning, urban design or other disciplines dealing with spatial planning. The article includes an overview of the history of urban planning to try to determine when and in what context of urban climatology and public health have interventions in space been planned in the past. The scope of research includes a review of literary material with addressing some exceptional cases of spatial planning in practice that were characteristic of individual periods in architecture and urbanism. The aim of the study is also to investigate the reasons why the urban planners of the past have used climate studies the process of spatial design. Are there special reasons that led to the emergence of some plans, that we perceive differently or incompletely today, without understanding the important social background? The central part of the paper presents some key conclusions that deal with individual climatological starting points, which are common to the relevant urban theorists and reference projects cited.

Abstract:
This paper discusses the trend of research on urban health in the disciplines of health and welfare by reviewing publications on urban health. Publications were searched using city and health related keywords in Korean Health and Welfare Institute’s open access repository. Research on urban health mainly discussed social issues, including family, housing, homelessness, socio-economic and physical environments in urban and rural areas. Local governments’ health and welfare policy budgets were also commonly addressed in studying the wellbeing of the residents in disadvantaged urban areas. Research on health impact assessments were found to address the broader social and environmental determinants of health in cities. As the findings illustrate, urban health research needs to continuously address those environmental and social determinants of urban health with a focus on transforming policy and governance through community empowerment.
