Full textMorocco knows a rapid development of Urban Population due to population growth, rural exodus and several parameters (social, economic…). This urbanization involving complex phenomena has generated multitude of problems (notably the transportation problem, the lack of social equipments, the environment damage, the difficulty of Urban Management…). The Urban Agencies have been created to bring under control this phenomenon by establishing Urbanism Documents which define the land use laws, and by controlling the urban activities. The urban agency handles daily a large amount of geographical data. To this end, the issue of the establishment of a Geographic Information System is size. This study is to draw up a report on urban management in the city of Mohammedia and deepen both the theoretical aspects and practical implementation of a GIS for urban management to manage public facilities, roads and automatically generate notes intelligence within the urban agency. How to restructure databases already existing spatial data to launch a GIS application to renovate urban management?Geographic information systems (GIS) today positioned as a powerful tool for decision support, particularly with regard to the management of the space. The integration of the spatial dimension, using GIS, now can locate information and organize data in a more user-friendly

Full textOver the years, the usefulness of geospatial data, in any given field, has been well established and countless innovations in the usage of such data have appeared. However, traditional geomatic tools used for the exploitation of data, despite their remarkable technological evolution in recent years, still contain certain limits concerning 3D visualization, interaction and their collaboration capacity that can limit spatial comprehension by a public of non-expert users. To overcome these limits, augmented reality technologies demonstrate interesting possibilities regarding the interaction and visualization of 3D geospatial data. In spite of the recent technological advances, these types of applications remain poorly explored, especially in geospatial contexts. Consequently, the development of geospatial augmented reality systems remains a laborious and experimental process. Considering this, we propose a study to establish the basis for the development of geospatial interactive and collaborative augmented reality systems. We have chosen to inscribe this study in the urban design and planning context, a domain of application for which the interaction and visualization of space plays a central role. The first part of this study presents the results of our literary and conceptual research, undertaken prior to the development of our prototype. The second part presents the prototype developed following the Unified Process methodology for software development as well as the results of the prototype experimentation step conducted afterwards. This research project completed, it appears obvious to us that augmented reality presents an interesting potential to overcome the limits of traditional geomatic tools. However, the realization of a complete solution would require the intervention of a larger pool of resources that are unavailable in the scope of a master’s project.

Full textThis thesis deals with the Geographical Information Systems (GIS) introduction into the decision-making processes suitable for town planning. A good knowledge of the growth and urban spreading context allows to find needsing in specifics tools adapted to the modern planning stakes. The organization actors are confronted to complex processes. The municipalities regrouping is the scale selected. This one implies the treatment of a considerable mass of information and the realization of town planning documents. The tools related on the management and the urban data exploitation , their evolutions and their potentials are developed. This study is then illustrated by the Castres-Mazamet community of town case. The stages of the GIS prototype implementation, its conception, its construction and its setting-up are clarified. A report without ambiguity leads to reorientate this Geographical Information System tool of decision-making aid for the planning towards a cartographic server of communication tool type. Those tools using is complex, it does not meet the needs for a part of the public targeted, but some of their functionalities are regarded as essential. One here towards the search for the tool fine adaptation to the needs and requirements of the actors concerned. It is also a question of tracking down t the tool potential in the decision-making process as well as the planning document realization. This reflexion on the role of the GIS and cartographic server in the assistance with the decision-making is strengthened by many other case studies in a bibliographical analysis. The tool potential and limits are developed, this project finality is to define a standard product or a standard service according to the size of the municipalities regrouping structures targeted. Two solution types can be imagined: a very complete system for small structures which do not have anything, or very specifics expertises on well defined problems for more important structures

Full textThe aim of this thesis is the modelling of spaces of communication in the city and this from a double point of view : initially to modernize the representation of the urban environment in Levant while carrying out a second reading of the Levantine city in the light of the new discoveries carried out in the social sciences. The goal is to find new logics equipped with methods which can disencumber the Levantine city of the orientalist's conceptual yoke reactualized by some Arab scholastics. Then making of a plug-in based on an individual-based model and dedicated to the study of the space structure of communication in the city. The interest of this tool is initially the elaboration of a method of graphic representation for phatics spaces in the city to then reveal from it a several explanatory indications and this with an ultimate aim of decision-making aid as regards urban planning

Full textIn France, there is a debate in Urban Policies: are the “zones urbaines sensibles”, underprivileged urban areas benefiting from specific public policies, suffering from geographical isolation ? On the one hand, these areas are perceived in collective representations as “enclaves” where inhabitants are blocked in their district. On the other hand, this isolation is nuanced, even refuted, by many researchers who suggest focusing on the socio-economic factors of exclusion. With an approach in between social sciences and geomatics, this PhD thesis develops a generic method of measuring geographical isolation in urban spaces by using a geographic information system. We aims to question the contribution of geomatics to a debate that until then belong to disciplines such as geography, sociology or planning. We define geographical isolation as a situation of weak potential for contact with otherness, which reduces the exchanges between an entity and the rest of the territory, and causes the severance of its inhabitants. We propose to distinguish three dimensions of geographical isolation: Enclosing, Remoteness and Differentiation. These three dimensions give a frame to our method. Each refers to different fields of research – “community severance” or “barrier effect”, pedestrian mobility, characterization of urban form, accessibility, segregation measure – that we mobilize to construct indicators of geographical isolation. We then apply this method to the “zones urbaines sensibles”. This specific application enables us both to validate our method, by combining known results with other approaches (planning, sociology), and both to contribute to the debate on the geographical isolation of the “zones urbaines sensibles” with a quantitative approach

Full textAdvances in 3D data acquisition techniques (laser scanning, photography, etc.) has led to a sharp increase in the quantity of available 3D geolocated data. More and more cities provide the scanned data on open access platforms. To ensure the intercompatibility of different data sources, standards have been developed for exchange protocols and file formats. Moreover, thanks to new web standards and the increase in processing power of personal devices, it is now possible to integrate rich content, such as 3D applications, directly in a web page. These two elements make it possible to share and exploit 3D city data into a web browser. The subject of my thesis, co-financed by the Oslandia company, is the 3D representation of city data on the Web. More precisely, the goal is to retrieve and visualize a great quantity of city data from one or several distant servers in a thin client. This data is heterogenous: it can be 3D representations of buildings (meshes) or terrain (height maps), but also semantic information such as pollution levels (volume data), the position of bike stations (points) and their availability, etc. During my thesis, I explored various ways of organising this data in generic structures in order to allow the progressive transmission of high volumes of 3D data. Taking into account the multiscale nature of the city is a key element in the design of these structures. Adapting the visualisation of the data to the user is another important objective of my thesis. Because of the high number of uses of 3D city models, the user’s needs vary greatly: some specific areas are of higher interest, data has to be represented in a certain way... I explore different methods to satisfy these needs, either by priroritising some data over others during the loading stage, or by generating personalised scenesbased on a set of preferences defined by the user
