Abstract:
This paper is devoted to the description of the method of programming STM32F10x microcontrollers using the built-in bootloader via the USART serial interface, using the Flash Loader Demonstrator program from ST Microelec­tronics. To automate the programming process, the process of creating a batch file is described. Quite popular is the method of programming the microcontroller through the SWD interface using the ST-Link hardware programmer. However, due to the current shortage of microcircuits, the cost of electronic components has risen markedly, making this method of programming more expensive. Thus, at this point in time, the method of programming microcontrollers using the built-in bootloader via USART using the USB to RS-232 TTL converter is quite in demand. The article may be of interest to students and engineers.

Abstract:
Comunication between microcontrollers is one of the crucial point in embedded sytems. On the other hand, embedded system must be able to run many parallel task simultaneously. To handle this, we need a reliabe system that can do a multitasking without decreasing every task’s performance. The most widely used methods for multitasking in embedded systems are using Interrupt Service Routine (ISR) or using Real Time Operating System (RTOS). This research compared perfomance of USART communication on system with RTOS to a system that use interrupt. Experiments run on two identical development board XMega A3BU-Xplained which used intenal sensor (light and temperature) and used servo as external component. Perfomance comparison done by counting ping time (elapsing time to transmit data and get a reply as a mark that data has been received) and compare it. This experiments divided into two scenarios: (1) system loaded with many tasks, (2) system loaded with few tasks. Result of the experiments show that communication will be faster if system only loaded with few tasks. System with RTOS has won from interrupt in case (1), but lose to interrupt in case (2).

One monitoring Terminal system based on STM32 is introduced in this paper. The system used STM32 as core controller, GPIO and USART as control and communication channel. GPS, GPRS, wired transmission and power section together makes up the system motherboard. The design has been tested and been applied in geology disaster monitoring. Results show that it is adapted to the harsh environment outdoors and long term working conditions.

Untuk memasukkan coding program kedalam ESP32 cam diperlukan sebuah aplikasi opensource yang dapat mengupload program yang di peruntukkan untuk modul esp32cam tersebut dengan menggunakan arduino IDE.Arduino IDE adalah sebuah perangkat lunak yangberfungsi untuk mengembangkan aplikasimikrokontroler dari proses pembuatan program,kompilasi dan upload. Arduino IDE ini jugadilengkapi dengan terminal serial, sehinggamemudahkan pengguna untuk melalukankomunikasi Usart / RS232 ke komputer. Dari hal tersebut didapatkan sistem keamanan dan monitoring secara realtime.

Abstract:
Plastic has found an irreplaceable part in human life. Human produces plastic wastes continually which results in pollution. In this paper GLCM (Gray Level Co-occurrence Matrix) technique is used for plastic segregation. Plastic segregation is necessary for recycling; hence they have to be segregated from other wastes. Manufacturing plastics from recycled plastic products uses only two-third of the energy used to make plastics from virgin materials. By the variation in intensity levels of reflected light from the plastic wastes it is segregated. This type of waste management gains attention in recent days due to enormous increase in the wastes generated. Robotic arm controlled using vision system that uses GLCM technique is used for segregation. The GLCM property of contrast is calculated for the given sample and it is compared with the stored pre-defined value. On successful comparison with the given condition a signal is sent through the serial port to the 8051 microcontroller using USART (Universal Synchronous/Asynchronous Receiver/Transmitter) feature. On receipt of this signal, the microcontroller provides movement of the robotic arm by controlling the servo motors.

Abstract:
Sensor devices such as pulse oximetry are practical tools used by most healthcare professionals, and even patients. An electronic sensor device that has the capability to measure physiological signs of saturation of arterial oxygen (SpO2) and heart beat rate of the human body has been developed in this study.The hardware design of the sensor device consists of a microcontroller PIC18F452, an external flash memory, and a transceiver unit. The most suitable sensors of red and infra red LEDs are installed on the arms of the plastic clip and functioned with the right resistor values. The red and infra red lights are detected by the photo diode and converted to digital numbers by the Assembly Language software program embedded into the microcontroller PIC18LF452. Those digital numbers are converted to SpO2 value in percentage level. A low power dual operational amplifier LM358 is used to amplify the current signal of the two lights, which depends on the intensity and visibility of the two lights. The output signals are displayed in 16 characters and 2 lines on Hitachi HD44870 compatible liquid crystal display (LCD). In order to display this data on personal computer (PC) monitor, the data is also transmitted via Universal Synchronous Asynchronous Receiver Transmitter (USART) ports of microcontroller to a PC. A Visual Basic 6 programming language is installed in the PC to display the wave forms, the percentage of the SpO2 level, and the pulse rate.Pulse oximetry has a promising future in the healthcare industry. This research enables a more efficient and economical means for managing the healthcare of the growing population.

Abstract:
This report studies the possibility of using some sort of radio sender and transmitter in order to position skis lost in powder snow. It is concluded that a RF-solution on the 433 MHz frequency should be the most efficient. Different forms of directional antennas are examined and studies show that in theory the best suited is the so called “Yagi-Uda antenna”. A solution based on using a Receive Signal Strength Indicator value together with the above mentioned directional antenna is developed. To control these different components microprocessors from Atmel is used. These are programmed in C and compiled with Atmel’s own compiler AVR Studio. Despite all efforts it is proven that the prototype does not perform in an adequate way. An alternative solution based on “byte-loss-rate” is then developed and the results are slightly improved. Nevertheless, the directional properties of the antenna are still too poor why other alternatives are discussed. No fully functioning prototype is achieved but good grounds for further development of the prototype into something that fulfills the specifications are produced.

The aim of the diploma thesis was to design active loudspeakers. The project contains the final solution of the designed loudspeakers that have a digital input of the multichannel audio signal with both sided data communication. In the work, there are also created circuits for processing an audio signal with a following amplification for the loudspeakers. Added functions are an infra acceptor for a remote control and binary outputs for assistant functions - a control of the motor and an indication via LED diodes.

Abstract:
Urban Search And Rescue (USAR) is something that is utilized more frequently in modern society due to the advancements made in the robotics field. Being able to use a robot to search for survivors in urban environments after disasters is invaluable. The fact that robots are able to endure hazardous areas significantly reduces response times when searching for survivors, and, in turn increasing chances of finding and rescuing victims. A major contribution to why robots have yet to dominate USAR is the fact that the robot interfaces have not evolved at the same pace that the robots have. Being able to intuitively instruct the robots is a core functionality that could be improved. Creating and implementing such an interface is not an easy task however, which is why research has to be conducted in order to find out what really makes a well functioning interface. In this case has a USAR robot interface not only been created and implemented in different varieties, but user testing sessions have also been conducted in order to properly determine the requirements of a well functioning interface. The results of these tests have shown that some factors appear to be more important than others, but also that appearances can be deceiving and that none of these factors are in fact without its own importance.
Urban Search And Rescue (USAR) som på svenska kan översättas till sökning och räddning i stadsmiljö, är något som på senare tid allt oftare används i dagens samhälle på grund av framstegen gjorda inom robotiken. Att kunna använda en robot för att söka efter överlevande i stadsmiljöer efter katastrofer är ovärdeligt. Faktumet att robotar kan hantera farligare områden än vad människor kan kortar ner tiden för att hitta överlevande avsevärt, och ökar samtidigt chansen att hitta överlevande offer. En stor bidragande faktor till varför robotar inte används överallt inom detta område är faktumet att gränssnittet som används inte har utvecklats i samma takt som robotarna har. Att intuitivt kunna instruera robotarna vad de ska utföra är en kärnfunktion som väsentligt kan förbättras. Att skapa och implementera ett gränssnitt är däremot inget lätt åtagande. Detta leder till att forskning behöver genomföras för att ta reda på vad ett funktionellt gränssnitt innebär. I detta fall har USAR-robot gränssnittet inte bara skapats, utan även implementerats i olika versioner. Användartester har använts för att kunna bestämma vad kraven för ett välfungerande gränssnitt är. Resultaten av dessa test har visat att vissa faktorer verkar vara viktigare än andra, men de påvisar även att allt inte alltid är som det verkar.
