Complex frequency estimation problem plays a significant role in many engineering applications. The estimation process was traditionally achieved by the Eigenvalue Decomposition (EVD) of the spatial correlation matrix of observations. Frequency estimation has fundamental significant and wide relevance for many reasons. First, any arbitrary signal may be modeled as a sum of frequencies. Hence, any signal estimation problem may be expressed in terms of frequency estimation problems. Second, many parameter estimation applications may be mathematically expressed as a frequency estimation problem.

This thesis is concerned with studying chemical dynamics using time-dependent quantum mechanics and in particular using the Fourier method. Various ways of implementing the Fourier method are described, both for calculations in one dimension and for those in many dimensions. The Fourier method is then used to simulate time-resolved femtosecond and picosecond pump-probe experiments, which investigate the B state of the sodium trimer. The simulation is divided into three stages: the initial wavefunction is generated by modelling the effect of the pump laser pulse on the ground state wavefunction

Common practice is to discretize the space-time using physical variables.
