Abstract:
Abstract Ultra Short Race Pace training (USRPT) is an emerging training modality devised in 2011 to deviate from high-volume swimming training that is typically prescribed. USRPT aims to replicate the exact demands of racing, through its unique prescription of race-pace velocity sets with short rest intervals. It has been surmised, with little physiological evidence, that USRPT provides swimmers with the best opportunity to optimize the conditioning, technique, and psychology aspects of racing at the most specific velocity of the relevant event, with low blood lactate concentration. The aim of this study was to examine acute physiological responses of USRPT. Fourteen swimmers were recruited to perform a USRPT set: 20 x 25 m freestyle with a 35-s rest interval. Swimmers were required to maintain the velocity of their 100 m personal best time for each sprint. Sprint performance, blood lactate, heart rate and the RPE were measured. Blood lactate was taken before, during (after every 4 sprints) and 3 minutes after the USRPT protocol. Heart rate monitors were used to profile the heart rate. Athletes reported the RPE before- and after completion of the USRPT set. Sprint times increased by 3.3-10.8% when compared to the first sprint (p < 0.01). There was high blood lactate concentration (13.6 ± 3.1mmol/l), a significant change in the RPE from 8 ± 1.6 to 18 ± 1.6 (p < 0.01) and a substantially high heart rate profile with an average HRmax of 188 ± 9 BPM. The results show the maximal intensity nature of USRPT and portray it as an anaerobic style of training.

Abstract:
The aim of this study was tο examine the acute responses to an Ultra-Short Race Pace Training (USRPT) and a High-Intensity Interval Training (HIIT), both oriented for the event of 100 m freestyle. Eighteen national-level swimmers (8 boys, 10 girls) aged 13.5 ± 0.1 years, with 8.0 ± 0.5 years of experience participated in the study. All participants completed a USRPT and a HIIT protocol consisting of 2 × 10 × 25 m (USRPT1 & USRPT2) and 5 × 50 m. Significantly higher swimming velocity (SV) were achieved in USRPT compared to HIIT (p < 0.001), while significantly lower distance per stroke (DPS) and stroke index (SI) were obtained (p = 0.007 and p < 0.001). Also, significantly lower blood lactate and glucose (BL & BG) concentrations were found after USRPT (p ≤ 0.001 and p = 0.037). Heart rate (HR) and rate of perceived exertion (RPE) were significantly lower after USRPT than HIIT (p < 0.001 and p = 0.015). According to the results, an USRPT swimming set consisting of 20 × 25 m at a 100 m pace seems to induce more specific responses in kinematic characteristics, biomarkers, HR and RPE compared to a 5 × 50 m HIIT set.

Abstract:
Background: Ultra-short race-pace training (USRPT) is designed to accustom swimmers to the pace of an event by using high volume and submaximal intensity with short intervals. However, due to imprecise data on volume and interval, further investigation is necessary. This scoping review aims to provide evidence-based insights into the advantages and disadvantages of recommended volumes and intervals during USRPT, guiding swimming coaches and offering practical advice regarding this training method. Methods: For this analysis, 90,613 studies from PubMed, Scopus, Web of Science, and Google Scholar were screened to examine the volume and interval of the USRPT method. Results: Only five studies met the inclusion criteria, were further assessed using a PRISMA-P document, and were analyzed for biases with the revised Cochrane risk-of-bias tool for randomized crossover trials. Excessive daily use of USRPT in training volume is discouraged due to potential psychological strain. Reaching failure should involve modifying variables such as intensity and interval. Additionally, interval periods should vary based on the targeted event’s physiological demands and the USRPT set’s volume. For short-distance events (50–100 m), it is recommended that USRPT protocols include a work-to-rest ratio of 1:1 or 1:2, allowing more time for aerobic contribution to replenish energy supplies (consistent with HIIT and SIIT principles). Conclusions: Further research on specific elements of USRPT, including volume and interval, is essential to identify the most effective training sets for swimmers across different distances and styles.

Abstract:
A recently referenced method known as ultra short race pace training (USRPT), designed to familiarize swimmers with the pace of a swimming event by using high volumes and submaximal intensities, has emerged as an efficient approach, enhancing performance and predicting swimming outcomes. Despite its recognized benefits, particularly its lower physiological burden compared to other training methods, research on USRPT is still in its early stages. There are misunderstandings related to its intensity and the pace of calculation. This systematic review aims to provide valid statements identifying the pros and cons of USRPT as a training stimulus and providing swimming coaches with key messages and advice about this training method. For the analysis, 90,612 studies from PubMed, EBSCO, Science Direct, and Google Scholar databases were screened to research the background, intensity, and pace calculation of the USRPT method, although only four met the inclusion criteria. The final screening of the selected studies was conducted using a PRISMA-P document. USRPT has the potential to become a dominant training stimulus, offering a precise alternative to the often vague training sets that many swimmers use. However, further studies focusing on specific aspects of intensity and pace calculation within USRPT sets are needed for comprehensive understanding. In conclusion, USRPT appears to be a submaximal variation of high-intensity interval training (HIIT) with low blood lactate relevance to swimming events. Also, the pace calculation must be implemented considering the different demands of each point of a swimming event.

Abstract:
The microstructural refinement of 2195 aluminum alloy ingots is particularly important for improving their industrial applications and mechanical properties. Combined with vacuum casting and inert gas protection, scalable high-strength ultrasonic melt processing (USMT) technology was used to manufacture 2195 aluminum alloy cylindrical ingots. Then, the influence of USMT on the main microstructural components (primary α-Al grains, secondary phase network, and precipitated particles) was studied. Our experiments show that the main microstructure of the ingot was improved after the introduction of ultrasound. Compared to the ingot formed without USMT, the size and morphology of the primary α-Al phase were optimized. The agglomeration of coarsening secondary phases can be alleviated, and the large layered secondary phase network becomes discontinuous throughout the ingot under USMT. At the same time, the mechanical properties of the solidified aluminum alloy ingots were also tested, and comparisons were made between samples formed with and without USMT. The results show that the stress concentration caused by the large area of coarse secondary phase in the ingot leads to the decrease of mechanical properties.

Abstract:
We consider an ad hoc Floyd-A∗algorithm to determine the a priori least-time itinerary from an origin to a destination given an initial time in an urban scheduled public transport (USPT) network. The network is bimodal (i.e., USPT lines and walking) and time dependent. The modified USPT network model results in more reasonable itinerary results. An itinerary is connected through a sequence of time-label arcs. The proposed Floyd-A∗algorithm is composed of two procedures designated as Itinerary Finder and Cost Estimator. The A∗-based Itinerary Finder determines the time-dependent, least-time itinerary in real time, aided by the heuristic information precomputed by the Floyd-based Cost Estimator, where a strategy is formed to preestimate the time-dependent arc travel time as an associated static lower bound. The Floyd-A∗algorithm is proven to guarantee optimality in theory and, demonstrated through a real-world example in Shenyang City USPT network to be more efficient than previous procedures. The computational experiments also reveal the time-dependent nature of the least-time itinerary. In the premise that lines run punctually, “just boarding” and “just missing” cases are identified.

Abstract:
In recent years, assessing the quality of the Sriwijaya University English Proficiency Test (USEPT) website and its user experience has become increasingly important due to the globalization of higher education and the need for students to develop international communication skills. This study aims to evaluate the UX and usability of the USEPT website by using the User Experience Questionnaire (UEQ) and System Usability Scale (SUS) to provide a comprehensive analysis. The results showed that all aspects of the UEQ scored with an average value ranging from -0.88 to 0.48 making it in the “bad” category especially on attractiveness, stimulation and novelty. While the average SUS score is 50 which categorizes usability at the “Not Acceptable” level, with a grade of “F” and adjective rating at the “poor” level. These findings illustrate the poor functionality of the website due to unsatisfactory user experience, thus requiring holistic improvements across all dimensions of UEQ. Recommendations for improvement include optimizing website navigation, increasing visual appeal by creating an attractive design, integrating interactive features to increase user engagement and satisfaction. This research makes a positive contribution to the development of the USEPT website in user satisfaction and can be a reference for website evaluation.

Abstract:

Abstract:
This manuscript describes an innovative use of the Unequally Spaced Multi-Tones test signal to achieve linearity characterization of telecommunication transmitter (5G). This signal offers new perspectives of characterization using real waveform involving a reduce number of tone test signal, which in turn behaves as an extension of the 2- tone characterization. This innovative test signal is easy to generate, to measure and to analyze. It required not particular expensive hardware to be generated (arbitrary waveform generator, spectrum analyzer). It is particularly interesting for production line testing, from on-wafer measurements up to radiofrequency front-end, passing through packaged transistor. This thesis demonstrated the feasability of automation of multitone measurement, using this particular USMT signal, for load-pull measurement (passive and active) of telecommunications transmitters. Managing this measurement technics represents a competitive advantage at all levels of the radio frequency front-end design and an undeniable financial gain

Abstract:
Opening with the impact of the Civil War on telegraphic communications in Washington, this chapter discusses the lack of telegraph security at the onset of the war. Various decisions by Edwin Stanton, Western Union, and telegraph corporations led to the creation of the United States Military Telegraph (USMT) Company, which effectively privatized Union Army telegraph communications and blunted Albert Myer and the Signal Corps. The latter half of the chapter details the increasing conflicts between indigenous peoples of the Great Plains and various militias and Union Army troops, including the Sand Creek Massacre, the Julesburg battles, and the retaliatory actions against the Transcontinental Telegraph and telegraph branch lines by Great Plains warriors in 1865 and 1866.

Abstract:
Ultra slow motion intelligent training (USMIT) is a specific training program for precision in coordination. USMIT aims to prevent both the acute and chronic motor cortex fatigue syndrome and to increase motor precision. The basic principle of USMIT is that performing an ultra slow motion with a constant speed (10-25mm/s) using the upper and lower limbs leads to persistence of high precision in motor coordination. This type of training seems to be innovative for the sports domain. Similar training at a higher motion speed (100mm/s) is used to maintain or increase muscle strength. Material and method. A male volunteer aged 39 years, with good sports abilities (table tennis, basketball, swimming, billiards, mountain biking, roller skating, badminton, skiing and tennis) used the four basic exercises of USMIT within a specific schedule during a period of one year. The four training periods were: (1) basic training (Reversed Push-Ups) for months 1-2, (2) general training (Reversed Push-Ups, Pseudo-Cycling, ButterFly, Ultra Slow Squats) for months 3-6, (3) no training for months 7-8, (4) personal training program (Reversed Push-Ups, Pseudo-Cycling, ButterFly, Ultra Slow Squats) for months 9-12. No specific tennis training was allowed during the year, except for the testing sessions. To adjust motion speed, a computerized system for the Cartesian motion analysis (KinectX Pro 1.0) was designed and used. To learn the training program, a computer application was developed (USMIT 1.0). Three evaluations were used: (1) an initial psychological evaluation, (2) a continuous evaluation with KinectX Pro, (3) a field evaluation during three specific tennis training sessions, at start, after 6 months and at the end of the study (we recorded the number of repeated forehand shots until error at submaximal effort and a phenomenological analysis was made in dialog with the tennis partner). Results. Field evaluation showed a significant improvement of precision in motor coordination, predicted by the KinectX Pro test evolution. Phenomenological analysis revealed new complex technical abilities and lower exercise endurance. These promising outcomes should be confirmed by 4 to 6-month prospective group studies.

Abstract:
KinectX (KX) and KinectX Pro (KXP) are two specific applications for the training and evaluation of precision in body motion coordination. KinectX Pro was designed to provide an evaluation of efficiency of Ultra Slow Motion Intelligent Training (USMIT) for precision in motor coordination. KinectX was designed to provide direct feedback during the USMIT training in order to know the proper constant speed in ultra slow motions (10 mm/s). Material and method. 142 voluntary subjects participated in four sets of trials (a total of 657 tests): (1) preliminary tests (N=8); (2) motor coordination and psychological trait correlation tests (N=100); (3) precision progress in motor coordination tests (N=8); (4) motor coordination tests (N=27). Five advantages of KX and KXP were identified: (1) “no strings” movement; (2) “live” speed feedback; (3) trajectory feedback; (4) good sensor sensitivity (up to 30 evaluations per second); (5) easy relocation of KX and KXP systems. Two major disadvantages were identified and corrected during testing: (1) high sensitivityto light intensity variations; (2) high sensitivityto infrared radiations. One minor disadvantage: (1) variations inthe test results with variations in the subject’s position vs. sensor. Results. A guide for the optimal use of both applications was completed, tested and used in the trials. A beta version was completed for both KX and KXP and successfully used in the trials andthe training of athletes, members of the Romanian Olympic Team 2018. Conclusion. KinectX and KinectX Pro are reliable instruments in the training and evaluation of precision in motor coordination, based on the USMIT program.

Abstract:
We are in the midst of progress and change regarding open science and open access to research data. There is a particular emphasis on good data practices, including data management and sharing plans. Open access to research data can help speed up the pace of discovery and provide more value and credibility to publicly funded research. The purpose of the study is to identify the attitudes and perceptions of the university medical community regarding the opening of data and to establish the role of the Scientific Medical Library in the management of research data. Applied research methods: sociological – the survey was based on the online questionnaire, which included 24 closed structured questions (with a single answer and with multiple answers), open (gives the opportunity to the respondent to answer as he wants, without any constraint), mixed, of opinion, as well as of scale, the non-random sampling, on a voluntary basis, research data analysis, and synthesis. The hypotheses established at the beginning of the research were confirmed, most respondents lack sufficient knowledge and skills about open research data. The study demonstrates an acknowledgment of the benefits of open data. The summative evaluation of the results allowed the identification of the essential factors that motivate the research activity: increasing visibility in the international scientific community, prestige, and career. At the same time, the impediments to the opening of research data were identified: lack of culture (knowledge) regarding data sharing and respectively researchers are not ready to share research data, the lack of a policy on research data management, problems related to copyright and intellectual property, data sensitivity, fear of misuse of research data, do not know where to publish such data, lack of knowledge about data and metadata standards, etc. Opening access to research results, data sharing, increasing research transparency, and adopting the Open Science model would accelerate the development rate of the Republic of Moldova. The opening of research data will improve the institutions position in international rankings, enhancing academic prestige and bringing additional financing. The Scientific Medical Library will organize information sessions for the university medical community, will promote the open data principle, will raise awareness among the university medical community regarding the benefits of open data, as well as participate in the development of institutional policy and the research data management plan at “Nicolae Testemitanu” State University of Medicine and Pharmacy, will develop a concept of open research data repository, etc.
