Abstract:
This article examines the reflection of events of the period of civil war and intervention in the memoirs of the countess P. S. Uvarova “The Past. Long Gone Happy Days”. These reminiscences are the testimonies of a witness on people and events of the late XIX – early XX century that allow understanding the life of academic community from inside, the routine of professional historians and amateur regional ethnographers. On the other hand, the narrative about the last years in the native country allow viewing the everyday life of Uvarovs family in the conditions when the routine has been destroyed. Reference to the personal sources revealing the new pages and milestones of the phenomenon in question allows seeing it through the eyes of a person from the past, find out what was happening and what felt the author. The peculiarity of P. S. Uvarova’s memoirs consists in focusing not on the everyday minutiae that is common to women, but on the reasoning which purpose is to preserve and translate the representations on the core values of life that were relentlessly destroyed by the revolution to the future generations.

Abstract:
This article is devoted to the one of the most significant moments of the beginning of the history of discovery and study of the archaeological monuments and artifacts on the territory of Grozny and its suburbs in the end of the 1880-th, correlated with wide spread of illegal excavations on the territory of the Terek district (Terskaya) and visiting this site by the directors of the main archaeological structures of Russia - count A.A. Bobrinsky (Imperial Archaeological Commission, St. Petersburg) and countess P.S. Uvarova (Imperial Moscow Archaeological Society (Moscow). The immediate reason for such attention was the rumors that reached the center about a find of the golden "crown" by treasure hunters in one of the mound near the village of Kulary on the river Sunzha. The Terek regional and district administrations of Grozny actively participated in the search. One of the officials, Yu.K. Churakovsky, also took active part in the research of local archaeological sites carried out by the Imperial Archaeological Commission and the Imperial Moscow Archaeological Society, as well as in the collection of numerous artifacts recovered by robbers from the mounds on the Chechen Plain in 1887-1888. In the end, the «crown», having become the necklace of Early Sarmatian period (E.I. Krupnov, V.B. Vinogradov, M.P. Abramova) came to P.S. Uvarova and was later transferred to the State Historical Museum. Twists and turns of the story are preserved in the correspondence of P.S. Uvarova to Yu.K. Churakovsky, once again confirming the importance of the epistolary heritage in the study of the process of the formation of archeology in Russia.

Abstract:
In this work, we evaluated the prevalence, conditions of formation, and typology of eating disorders in women at different age periods, as well as the interaction of these disorders and psychopathological symptoms (depression and anxiety). The study involved 71 women aged 44 to 59 years, who were in different periods of menopause, who turned to a district therapist as part of a dispensary observation. The severity of menopause was studied using the Kuperman-Uvarova index and the Green scale. The study found that most women had severe menopausal disorders according to the Kuperman-Uvarova index. When evaluating the indicators of the green scale, the largest deviations were recorded for the anxiety and somatic component. The study found that most women had severe menopausal disorders. Most women were in a state of anxiety (both personal and situational) and depression. At the same time, it was found that postmenopausal women had a more pronounced depressive and anxiety component of quality of life than perimenopausal women. Among women in menopause, the results of the Dutch DEBQ eating behavior questionnaire revealed a deviation in the average normal indicators for each of the scales. At the same time, most women have combined alimentary disorders

Abstract:
This publication attempts to draw wide scholarly attention to an unpublished article by B.A. Sadovsky entitled “Philosophy of Marriage”. Written in 1923, in a very difficult for the author post-revolutionary period, it reveals his idea of the essence and components of a happy marriage. The defining thesis of the article is that tact is the most valuable of all the personal virtues of a woman entering into marriage. In this regard, the ideal wife, according to Sadovsky, is Tatyana from Pushkin’s “Eugene Onegin&8j1;. An analysis of the metatextual connections of the article along with the biographical factor gives reason to conclude that the image of Pushkin’s heroine is conceptually important in terms of both aesthetic and everyday priorities of the author. To assist in the analysis of the text, letters from V.P. Uvarova to Sadovsky were used. Their relationship became one of the incentives for writing the “Philosophy of Marriage&8j1;.

Abstract:
It seeks innovation in the development of eco-efficient processes. The production of natural products from renewable materials by these new environmentally friendly processes is more and more used. The aim of this Ph.D thesis is to develop an eco-valuation strategy to extract, characterize, produce and impregnate natural products onto a cosmetic support using sub/supercritical fluids. Consequently, we used oleaginous plant seeds from Kniphofia uvaria as a plant model, which was selected for its interesting cosmetic properties such as antioxidant or anti-ageing. Firstly, the SFC-MS hyphenation with the APCI as an ionization source was developed to screen bioactive molecules; responsible of cosmetic properties. This coupling was performed by the hybrid combination of (U)HPLC/SFC-HRMS. Various optimizations in terms of the solvent make-up (nature and proportion), modulation with SFC and MS parameters were carried out in order to improve sensitivity and selectivity of lipid analysis. Secondly, an enrichment strategy to concentrate bioactive compounds in the final extract was developed by SFE and CPC. Thus, in SFE, experimental parameters (temperature, pressure, nature/proportion of the modifier in the CO2 fluid) were optimized while in CPC, the injection optimization was realized. Methods for the selective fractionation of anthraquinones and triglycerides were obtained in CPC and SFE. Finally, an on-line sub/supercritical extraction-impregnation process was developed to extract and for simultaneously impregnating anthraquinones onto a cosmetic silica. Development and optimization of this process was realized on a laboratory scale. Consequently, this study demonstrated the feasibility of this concept and it presents a great interest to provide natural products as a galenic form, which could be used in the cosmetic formulation

Abstract:
Exact solution of the Schr&ouml<br>dinger equation with some potentials is obtained. The normal and supersymmetric cases are considered. Deformed ring-shaped potential is solved in the parabolic and spherical coordinates. By taking appropriate values for the parameter q, similar results are obtained for Hulth&eacute<br>n and exponential type screened potentials. Similarly, Morse, P&ouml<br>schl-Teller and Hulth&eacute<br>n potentials are solved for the supersymmetric case. Supersymmetric solution of PT-/non-PT-symmetric and non-Hermitian Morse potential is also studied. The Nikiforov-Uvarov and Hamiltonian Hierarchy methods are used in the calculations. Eigenfunctions and corresponding energy eigenvalues are calculated analytically. Results are in good agreement with ones obtained before.

Full text
Abstract:
The Annonaceae is a large, early-divergent family of angiosperms. Although the majority is pollinated by small beetles, there is a great diversity of floral morphologies. Evolutionary shifts of pollination mechanisms have occasionally been reported in disparate lineages including shifts to pollination by large beetles, flies, thrips, bees and cockroaches. It was previously hypothesized that floral morphological changes in different lineages are adaptive and correspond to evolutionary shifts of pollination mechanisms. This hypothesis is tested here by comparing selected species that have substantial morphological differences with their close relatives. Comprehensive studies of the floral biology of four Annonaceae species, Dasymaschalon trichophorum, Desmos chinensis, Pseuduvaria mulgraveana and Uvaria cordata, are presented. All are beetle-pollinated. Dasymaschalon trichophorum, D. chinensis and U. cordata were inferred to be self-compatible based on inter-simple sequence repeat marker data as there was evidence of significant gene flow and a low level of genetic differentiation between populations. This was corroborated for D. chinensis and U. cordata by experimental controlled pollination tests for geitonogamy, in which both were shown to set fruit. Similar floral phenological and pollination ecological results were obtained for D. chinensis and D. trichophorum despite significant differences in floral architecture, as the former has six petals (typical of most other Annonaceae species), whilst the latter only has three. The results suggested that the substantial change in floral morphology in these two closely-related genera is probably non-adaptive as there is no change in pollination system. It is hypothesised that the morphological change is likely due to the disruption of homeotic gene expression during floral organ development. Studies of floral phenology and pollination ecology of Uvaria cordata revealed that it has a 3-day flowering rhythm and is pollinated by small beetles. The pollination ecology is unexpectedly similar to other species with typical beetle-pollination syndromes, although it lacks a pollination chamber and has pale-colored petals. It is suggested that species that lack a pollination chamber are more likely to be pollinated by guilds other than beetles or thrips as a floral chamber increases pollinator specificity. Several morphological and phenological characters are also presumably correlated with the evolution of generalist pollination to increase the pollination efficiency and assure fruit production, including torus shape, petal orientation, stigma shape, petal color, carpel and/or ovule number and the overlap of pistillate and staminate phases. Pseuduvaria is unusual in the Annonaceae as the majority of species possess unisexual flowers. Most species were previously interpreted as having staminate and structurally pistillate flowers, with infertile staminodes in the latter. The ‘pistillate’ flowers of P. mulgraveana are shown to produce viable pollen, however, contradicting this hypothesis. It is therefore recommended that floral unisexuality in the genus be reassessed by testing more species from different clades. Different strategies to promote xenogamy in the Annonaceae are reviewed, including protogyny, herkogamy, intra- and inter-individual phenological synchrony and dioecy. Three different mechanisms were recognized to achieve dioecy, including incomplete pollen development in hermaphroditic flowers, delayed anther dehiscence in hermaphroditic flowers and loss of androecium or gynoecium (with Pseuduvaria used as a paradigm).<br>published_or_final_version<br>Biological Sciences<br>Doctoral<br>Doctor of Philosophy

Abstract:
The one dimensional position dependent effective mass problem is studied by solving the Schr&ouml<br>dinger equation for some well known potentials, such as the deformed Hulthen, the Mie, the Kratzer, the pseudoharmonic, and the Morse potentials. Nikiforov-Uvarov method is used in the calculations to get energy eigenvalues and the corresponding wave functions exactly. By introducing a free parameter in the transformation of the wave function, the position dependent effective mass problem is reduced to the solution of the Schr&ouml<br>dinger equation for the constant mass case. At the same time, the deformed Hulthen potential is solved for the position dependent effective mass case by applying the method directly. The Morse potential is also solved for a mass distribution function, such that the solution can be reduced to the constant mass case.

Abstract:
The pseudospin symmetry concept is investigated by solving the Dirac equation for the exactly solvable potentials such as pseudoharmonic potential, Mie-type potential, Woods-Saxon potential and Hulth&eacute<br>n plus ring-shaped potential with any spin-orbit coupling term $kappa$. Nikiforov-Uvarov Method, Asymptotic Iteration Method and functional analysis method are used in the calculations. The energy eigenvalue equations of the Dirac particles are found and the corresponding radial wave functions are presented in terms of special functions. We look for the contribution of the ring-shaped potential to the energy spectra of the Dirac particles. Particular cases of the potentials are also discussed. By considering some particular cases, our results are reduced to the well-known ones presented in the literature. In addition, by taking equal mixture of scalar and vector potentials together with tensor potential, solutions of the Dirac equation are found and then the energy splitting between the two states in the pseudospin doublets is investigated. We indicate that degeneracy between members of pseudospin doublet is removed by tensor interactions. Effects of the potential parameters on the pseudospin doublet splitting are also studied. Radial nodes structure of the Dirac spinor are presented.

An ethnopharmacological study led in areas of strong incidence of the disease allowed the selection of 34 plants among which 18, not indexed, were subjected to an in vitro biological screening, against Trypanosoma brucei brucei and Leishmania donovani. After this screening, four plant organs were selected for a chemical study because of their strong activity on parasites: rhizomes of Aframomum sceptrum K Schum. (Zingiberaceae), leaves of Bridelia ferruginea Benth. (Euphorbiaceae), stem barks of Isolona cooperi Hutch. &amp; Dalz. And roots of Uvaria afzelii Sc. Elliot (Annonaceae). The bioguided fractionation of these organs allowed the isolation of 21 compounds, some of them having a chemotaxonomical interest. Three fatty acids, two keto-steroids, eight sterols and a stanol were identified in rhizomes of Aframomum sceptrum K Schum. And leaves of Bridelia ferruginea Benth. From Annonaceae, two polyacetatic/shikimate derivatives, a new indanone, a new syncarpic acid derivative, two small lactones, of which one is new, and a bis-benzylisoquinolone alkaloid were isolated. The biological evaluation of these compounds was also undertaken. The initial antiparasitic activity observed was particularly found with the compounds isolated from Annonaceae

Abstract:
The Long Telegram 2.0: A Neo-Kennanite Approach to Russia lays out an original argument for understanding Russia that goes deep into its history, starting with the tri-partite dictum “orthodoxy, autocracy, nationality,” formulated in 1833 by count Sergey Uvarov. The author explores Uvarov’s triad in the context of modern Russia, adding five more traits: exceptionalism, expansionism, historical primordialism, worship of the military, and glorification of suffering. The author argues that, as presently constituted, Russia cannot become a democracy, and, sooner than later, it will disintegrate, replicating the fate of the Soviet Union. The key reasons for these, according to the author, are: weak mechanisms for the transition of power, poorly developed institutions of the state, feeble economy and education, frail ideology, and, most importantly, the lack of a unified national identity. Following this assessment, the author defines a strategy for dealing with Russia, based on a combination of offensive realism and realpolitik, recommending that the West copes with Russia in a more pragmatic manner. The book includes the author’s translation of a unique historical document from the 1860s: a pamphlet calling for the independence of Siberia on the example of the American revolution.

Abstract:
The production of “major films” was an insistent preoccupation of Soviet cinema’s regulatory bodies both at government and at Party levels. A director regarded as particularly successful in this respect was Gleb Panfilov. His 1975 film, May I Speak?, addressed issues of personal responsibility. The balance of public and family duties, which were of enormous importance in political debates at the time the screenplay was written, and its sympathetic portrait of a leading official were reassuring to commentators at Goskino and in Party offices at various levels. Panfilov was, unlike most younger artists at Lenfilm, a member of the Party and valued his parents’ Communist principles. The argument of some post-Soviet commentators—that May I Speak? represents a veiled attack upon its protagonist, Elizaveta Uvarova—is difficult to sustain. Yet Uvarova remains an ambiguous figure, and the treatment of her is enigmatic, not least in terms of gender identities, as the discussion here shows.

Abstract. The analytical expressions for the energy eigenvalues and eigenfunctions are computed for Coulomb perturbed potential by solving the Schrodinger equation within the framework of the Nikiforov-Uvarov functional analysis method and applying the Greene-Aldrich approximation. Using the energy eigenvalue expression, we have determined the mass spectra of cs ̅ and b ̅c mesons. The results of present study are in good agreement with experimental, relativistic and other relevant works available in the literature.

Abstract:
The paper discusses the possibility of a potential reception between F.-R. Chateaubriand and S. S. Uvarov in pamphlets on Napoleon in 1814. The author (in the process of comparative comparison of political and cultural glossaries and rhetorical strategies of both figures) draws on the methodological tools of the Cambridge School of the “History of Concepts” (Q. Skinner and J.G.A. Pocock). Based on this analysis, a conclusion is drawn about the similarities and differences between rhetorical strategies, political, and cultural glossaries in the designated pamphlets about Napoleon.

Abstract:
Painting on pure silk is a genre of fine art characterized by the clarity and transparency of colors. The pearlescent effect of pure silk adds value to the created work. The salt is applied on painted silk while it is still wet. In this way there can be produced extremely attractive effects, though not completely controllable at the first stage of the work. The increased absorption property of salt represents an essential advantage in this technique. The moisture absorbed by the grains of salt partially dissolves the paint leaving marks on the fabric. They create, as a whole, lines and stains, conditioned by the structure and properties of the silk. Salt has two essential properties of manifestation on the painted surfaces. It can be used to lighten the color, and it can break down the mixed pigments into their basic components. Bassarabian artists such as Alexandr Drobaha, Vasile Grama, Ala Uvarov, etc., starting with the 70s-80s of the 20th century, implemented special effects with salt in their silk painting artworks. Painting on pure silk with salt effects offers unlimited possibilities for artistic experimentation.
