The editor suggested that the «popular Tatar scientist and publicist» referred to Ismail Bey Gasprinsky. But Ilya Zaytsev proves that this review has been concerned with «Basics of Sharia» of Musa Bigiyev. Other version of this review has been preserved in the archive of Prof. Ilya Borozdin in Moscow.
