Abstract:

Aim. The aim of this study was to screen soil samples of 17 anthrax burial sites in Eastern and Southern Ukraine for the presence of B. anthracis. Methods. Soil samples were collected from anthrax grave sites located in Kharkiv, Sumy and Mykolaiv regions (diseased animals dated from 1946 to 2003). Isolation of B. anthracis from collected soil samples was performed with the GABRI method. From single colonies without hemolysis, that were inactivated with peracetic acid- containing 2 % Terralin PAA solution, DNA was extracted and analyzed by qPCR for the presence of chromosomal marker dhp61, as well as the markers pagA and capC located on virulence plasmids pXO1 and pXO2, respectively. Results. Eleven fi eld trips were conducted from July, 2016 to October, 2018 in which 369 soil samples from 17 burial sites in Kharkiv, Sumy and Mykolaiv oblasts were collected from different depths of presumed anthrax carcass sites. In most cases (12 out of 17 cases), the current status of these burial sites was deteriorated and not prop- erly accounted for. It was possible to obrain viable B. anthracis isolate was obtained from 50 cm depth at the grave site near Koviagy village, Valky district, Kharkiv region (49.92373°N, 35.48951°E). This isolate was named KhR/ VD/Kov2-2-05-3 and deposited in the Collection of Animal Infectious Pathogens of the National Scientifi c Center “Institute of Experimental and Clinical Veterinary Medicine”, Kharkiv, Ukraine. The contamination level of soil at the isolation site reached about 10 4 CFU per g as determined by plate counting. qPCR analysis of this isolate identi- fi ed both the dhp61 B. anthracis chromosomal and the pagA virulence plasmid marker. However, the plasmid pXO2 marker, required for capsule-formation could not be detected. Conclusions. The anthrax burial sites were created between the 1920s and 1960s, however, only approximate locations could be found and demarcated. In most cases the status of the sites was unsuitable for sampling. Nevertheless, isolation of B. anthracis in one case in the Valky district shows that old anthrax burial sites (13.500 exist in Ukraine) still pose a risk as potential source of the infection and therefore require more attention and surveillance, for which a surveillance plan will be developed.

Abstract:

The taxonomy of the T. bessonii, T. bonibony, T. dysalum, T. marginatum, T. tsingy, and T. weitzeckeri species groups isrevised. A total of 33 species is treated, of which 27 are newly described and one is raised to species status. The T.weitzeckeri group contains the single species T. humbloti Forel, which is of Afrotropical origin and the only representativeof the group in the Malagasy region. The species T. bessonii Forel, T. dysalum Bolton, T. marginatum Forel, and T. stein-heili Forel, which were originally members of the T. weitzeckeri group, are now placed in other groups. Tetramorium bes-sonii is the core species of the T. bessonii group, which also contains the four newly described species T. artemis sp. n., T.malagasy sp. n., T. ryanphelanae sp. n., T. wardi sp. n., and T. orientale Forel stat. n., which was a junior synonym of T.bessonii but is now raised to species rank. The T. dysalum group is a moderately-sized group with ten species, of whichonly T. dysalum and T. steinheili were previously known; the other eight species are all newly described. The newly described species in this group are: T. ambatovy sp. n., T. macki sp. n., T. mallenseana sp. n., T. orc sp. n., T. robitika sp. n.,T. sargina sp. n., T. yammer sp. n., and T. vohitra sp. n. A lectotype and several paralectotypes of T. steinheili are desig-nated. Tetramorium marginatum is the central species of the T. marginatum group, which also includes the five newly de-scribed species T. valky sp. n., T. hector sp. n., T. norvigi sp. n., T. shamshir sp. n., and T. silvicola sp. n. The T. bonibonyand T. tsingy groups represent completely new groups that consist entirely of previously unknown, undescribed species.The first group holds the new species T. bonibony sp. n., T. kali sp. n., T. sada sp. n., T. nosybe sp. n., T. olana sp. n., T.popell sp. n., and T. trafo sp. n. and T. vony sp. n. The last group, the T. tsingy group, only contains the two species T. tyrionsp. n. and T. tsingy sp. n., both among the rarest Tetramorium species in Madagascar. All groups are fully revised withillustrated species-level identification keys, and all species are described/re-described and illustrated with high qualitymontage images. In addition, the current status of the Malagasy Tetramorium species groups is discussed and further modifications are proposed.

U prilogu »O akademiji Miha Sorkočevića«, koji je objavljen prije 18 godina, R. Maixner je držao da je ta dubrovačka akademija bila arkadijskog tipa1 pa je nasuprot takvu njezinu usmjerenju isticao stav talijanskog prosvjetitelja Alberta Fortisa (1741— 1803), intimnog prijatelja dubrovačkog erudita Miha Sorkočevića-Sorgo (1739—-1796). Fortis je »imao strože nazore o ulozi akademije, u kojoj je gledao u prvom redu znanstvenu ustanovu praktičnog zna- čaja«. Tom je prilikom Maixner upozorio na Fortisovu knjigu Mineralogische Reisen durch Calabrien und Apulien,23 koja je, prema tadašnjem običaju, bila napisana u epistolarnom obliku: autor apo- strofira svog mladog dubrovačkog prijatelja i istomišljenika Tomu Basiljevića (1756—1806), inače nećaka Miha Sorkočevića (Tomina majka Kata bila je Mihina sestra) i kasnijeg člana njegove efemerne akademije koji je, spomenimo usputno, bio najvažniji član dubro- vačke prosvjetiteljske elite po svom definitivnom povratku u do- movinu nakon preko deset godina provedenih na Zapadu (Italija, Švicarska, Njemačka, Austrija), što iz studijskih a što iz obiteljskih razloga.“ Ta je knjiga izašla 1788. god., u Weimaru.

Abstract:

The diploma thesis deals with the optimization of final position of overlaps on a forged cam. This part is manufactured in Šroubárna Kyjov, spol. s r.o. The cam is made from ČSN 14 109 (100Cr6) steel. The thesis is focused on the optimization of overlaps arising due to pressed burrs on the edges of the semifinished forging. Currently, the final position of these overlaps is very close to the edge of the pre-forged hole of the cam. Undesired chipping of material occurs during machining of the hole to the exact dimension. The final position of the overlaps is optimized by using the numerical simulation in Simufact Forming 15.0, including a verification simulation for optimal parameter settings. Various diameters of semifinished products, turned tools, and modification of shapes of the tools are tested in the thesis to prevent occurrence of the overlaps in undesired positions.

In the thesis there are designed the valve lift curves with the continuous course of acceleration, valve springs and valve springs natural oscillations damper for engine Honda CBR 929RR. The dynamic analysis of valve train approach is performed.

Abstract:

This diploma thesis deals with creation of a laboratory task related with analysis of kinematic quantities on cam machanism. A new measuring chain was created as a part of the new laboratory task for analysis of kinematic quantities with use of sensors and signal processing by software LabVIEW. The concept of the laboratory task on a experimental machine was based on knowledge gained from Current State of Knowledge where basic principles of laboratory training and utilization of cam mechanisms in learning were described.

Abstract:

The aim of this thesis is to design a proposal of Transfer table electromechanical earmarked for transporting packs of sheets of tin with balance-sheet of electromechanical and electrohydraulic construction and to make important technical calculations. The introduction contains a description of the used constructional solution with the description of the individual parts of the transfer table and survey used components from different producer. The work includes functional calculations, which mainly includes the design and control of power running and lifting gear, calculate speeds and lift loads, the chain drives and other assemblies Transverse. Conclusion of this work deals with the assessment of the frame strength of the Transfer table using the finite element method. Further the work deals with the assessment of the maximum capacity of the machine and with any design modifications. The work also contains a design documentation, especially the plan of the Transfer table and detailed drawings of the frame and eccentric casters.

Abstract:

This thesis deals with a technology of continuous packaging machine in the beginning from the point of risk assessment and design of necessary measures to reduce the risk as much as it is possible. Here the HRN method was used to quantify every risk factor. Next part documents the implementation of the safety measures and the realization of the safety circuits by using Simatic S7–1500F safety PLC and Shared device functionality. Safety function which is realized in the Sinamics S120 drive is Safe Stop 1. Next, it describes the drive dimensioning and the principle of the drive control. Simotion PLC is discussed in more details and then is used as a motion control master. An approach to the configuration of camming synchronous operation is dealt with in details. Cam design and their realization is documented, too. The thesis also demonstrates the state manager that was implemented in the user program and which is used according to the concept of OMAC state manager. In the end a simple HMI for packaging machine control is described.

Abstract:

Abstract: It is very important for the whole society to pay attention to the health condition of small children. The thesis is focused on a possible effect of chemical and toxic substances which may endanger child{\crq}s health every day. In every house with children there are many types of food, products, medicine, or also plants which can endanger children. According to the research (e.g. with milk, vitamin A or paracethamol) there are provable food items unsuitable for children in many cases. Also house plants or bushes commonly grown at home or at yards in pre-schools may also be a cause of health problems of small children. Another important aspect, which is often neglected by parents, is a material that the toys are made of. The second part of the thesis is devoted to the research which was carried out at the territory of Karviná region in 19 pre-schools (PS). There were two files of entities designed for the needs of the thesis. In one file there are 87 pedagogical workers who are employed in pre-schools. The second file covers 155 parents whose children attend randomly selected pre-schools. Both parents and pedagogical workers were asked similar questions in the form of questionnaire, which are related to the information from the area of civilian protection. The main topic here was the danger of hazardous chemical substances release. These questions were to test theoretical competence of adults to react in proper way in such cases, immediately and correctly, thus protecting themselves and children mainly. The conclusion with both groups is that the knowledge from the area of civilian protection is insufficient. Most of the respondents (67 % of teachers and 57 % of parents) would not react in a correct way. Only a very little part of the questioned persons was able to name some of the tools of the individual protection. These outcomes were then handed to the Fire Rescue Brigade of the Moravian-Silesian Region, and they will be used as support material for making changes in the system of information for citizens, and especially pedagogy workers in the area of civilian protection. One of the possible benefits of this thesis is also a creation of an education aid for the officers in duty with handicapped citizens.

Abstract:

The final three chapters turn specifically to central Illinois and the Greek immigrants who settled in the small cities and towns where they established candy and soda fountain stores. These chapters highlight the networking, chain migration, entrepreneurship, and mutual education and support found among these early Greek immigrants. Chapter 6 focuses on two of the earliest Greeks, Peter Vriner and George Vaky, who first opened a store in Champaign-Urbana in 1898. In 1901 they opened a second store in Tuscola, and Peter Vriner’s cousin Gus Flesor came there to learn the trade. In this chapter the stories of Vriner, Vaky, and other first-generation Greek candy makers in Champaign-Urbana are told, along with a recounting of Gus Flesor’s successful life, the Flesor family, and the Candy Kitchen he founded, now owned by his granddaughters.
