The oldest known map of a mine in what is now Slovakia was drawn in 1568 and represents an adit named Gottes gab. The location of the mine is given only by the description “auf der Jeraba” (at Jarabá in the Low Tatras) and the exact whereabouts of the mine was unknown until recently.
