A new record in Del Valle River, part of the Del Valle Central basin in Catamarca Province of northwest Argentina, makes evident that the species is still spreading through Argentina.

The rise of global value chains (GVCs) has changed the patterns of trade in East Asia. This paper aims to analyze GVCs since the mid 1990s and to investigate the determinants of East Asian trade in value-added. At the world level, export (measured in value-added) is increasingly sensitive to the capital–labor ratio and high-skilled labor productivity. In East Asia, however, the opposite trend is seen. It is also found that free trade agreements do not promote export in East Asia, only export in intermediate goods.

Central Asia is a center of diversity for many important fruit and nut tree species, including wild and cultivated apricots (Prunus armeniaca L.). A wealth of apricot germplasm that expresses novel and valuable characteristics such as fruits with high soluble solids, edible kernels, glabrous skin, and diverse colors and flavors, as well as later-blooming flowers, late-maturing fruit, and drought, cold, and salt tolerance, can be found growing across this region. Since the dissolution of the Soviet Union, Central Asia has become more accessible for reciprocal germplasm exchange and scientific c

If so, how many cointegrating equations are there? Second, what are the short-term causal relationships between equity markets in East and Southeast Asia? Third, what is the East Asia’s most influential equity market toward their Southeast counterparts, and vice versa? AbstractThis article aims to uncover the socially constructed normative foundation for the alternative East Asian economic development paradigm to neoliberalism in the context of civilisational politics. The question I seek to address is why East Asian states make value claims when promoting their alternative method of economic development. In addressing this question, I make two interrelated arguments. First, I argue that the politics of Asian values can be understood as another case of non-Western society's struggle to demonstrate multiple paths to modernity. Second, on a deeper level, I sho

Why do Asian developmental states form partnerships with businesses? How and under what conditions do state–business partnerships evolve when a developmental state moves up the global value chain (GVC)? This paper argues that as Asian developmental states move up the GVC, they will engage in more intensive partnerships with businesses to spur innovation. Moreover, using the triple helix model of innovation in the business literature, Asian states high on the value chain will move away from a simple bilateral state–business relation to a trilateral state–business–university relation, leveraging

It is also Taiwan’s regional strategy for Asia, envisaging a people-centred agenda of Taiwan’s national development and Asia’s regional growth. The NSP demonstrates Taiwan’s concern for national development; in addition, it expresses Taiwan’s emphasis on the human va
