This paper analyses grade 6 pupils’ mathematical processes and difficulties in solving proportion problems before the formal teaching of this topic. Using a qualitative methodology, we examine pupils’ thinking processes at four levels of performance in missing value and comparison problems. The results show that pupils tend to use scalar composition and decomposition strategies in missing value problems and functional strategies in comparison problems. &lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Resumen&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Asimilar el valor del patrimonio como una opción de compra sobre los activos permitió desarrollar un conjunto de modelos dinámicos para predecir fracasos financieros empresariales. No obstante, el concepto presenta una importante debilidad: la relación directa y positiva entre valor del capital (prima) y el nivel de volatilidad del activo subyacente. El razonamiento anterior indica que a mayor riesgo de la firma mayor debe ser su valor, lo que conduce a una lógica inconsistente para estimar probabilidades de fracasos financieros.

A estatística da razão de verossimilhanças é utilizada para o cálculo dessas duas medidas de evidência. Theoretical DFT calculations were used for the study of o-, m- and p-aminobenzoic acids, optimizing the geometric structures, and determining the thermodynamic stability of the studied compounds. The value of the variation for the frontier HOMO-LUMO orbitals both in the gas phase and in the solvent gives the possibility to determine some reactivity descriptors.
