The daily lives of children and the childcare provided by parents; forms the nucleus of this PhD i thesis. Using the United Kingdom Time Use Survey 2000 (UKTUS), a comprehensive picture of the care provided by parents is developed; and the daily lives of children and young people are analysed in detail.
