W latach 1993–1996 badano chorobotwórczość mączniaka prawdziwego jęczmienia (Blumeria graminis f.sp. hordei) w Polsce przy zastosowaniu samochodowego wyłapywacza zarodników typu Jet Spore Trap i techniki benzymidazolowej. Frekwencje poszczególnych wirulencji określano na podstawie liczby kolonii na pierwszym liściu siewek 12 odmian testowych. Jako kontroli użyto podatną odmianę Igri. W latach 1993–1996 najwyższą frekwencję w Polsce miały wirulencje Va12 i Vg. Zaobserwowano wzrost frekwencji wirulencji Va9, Va13, Va6, Va7 + k i Va7 + Ab.
