Abstract:
Nors lietuvių asmenvardžiai yra gana intensyviai tyrinėjami jau daug metų, tačiau Šiaulių universiteto studentų vardai yra mažai nagrinėti. Šiame straipsnyje siekiama ištirti Šiaulių universiteto studentų vardus sociolingvistiniu aspektu, atlikti kalbinę ir statistinę vardų analizę, apžvelgti studentų vardų įvairovę, jų populiarumą, vardų kilmę ir semantinę motyvaciją. Ištirti 7 166 studentų, studijavusių Šiaulių universitete 2000–2015 metais, vardai, iš kurių 5 776 yra merginų vardai, 1 390 – vaikinų vardai. Per analizuojamą laikotarpį suskaičiuoti 735 skirtingi vardai, iš kurių 491 yra moterų vardas, 244 – vyrų vardai. Nustatyta, kad populiariausias moters vardas yra sulotynintas graikiškos kilmės vardas Kristina (180 studenčių), antras pagal dažnumą – lietuviškas vardas Lina (177 studentės), trečias – graikiškos kilmės Jurgita (154 studentės). Dominuojantis vaikinų vardas yra hebrajiškos kilmės vardas Tomas (72 studentai), antroje vietoje – lietuviškas vardas Mindaugas (54 studentai), trečioje – graikiškas vardas Andrius (41 studentas). Išanalizavus vardų etimologiją pastebėta, kad tarp labiausiai paplitusių moterų vardų daugiausia yra lietuviškos kilmės vardų, pavyzdžiui, Aušra, Daiva, Jūratė, Rasa, Vaida, o populiariausių vyrų vardų dalyje vyrauja kalendoriniai krikštavardžiai – hebrajų, graikų, lotynų, germanų ir keltų.Tyrimo metu surinkti duomenys lyginami su Lietuvoje registruotais vaikų vardais (remtasi Valstybinės lietuvių kalbos komisijos parengto Lietuvos Respublikos piliečių sąvado ir Gyventojų registro tarnybos duomenimis).Išanalizavus studentų vardus paaiškėjo, kad kai kurie lietuviški vardai turi aiškią motyvuotą semantiką: vardai, reiškiantys charakterio, asmenybės požymius; vardai, susiję su tam tikrais gamtos reiškinių ir augalų pavadinimais. Daug nelietuviškos kilmės vardų atspindi teigiamas socialines ir kultūrines visuomenės ypatybes.Atliktas tyrimas parodė, kad Šiaulių universiteto studentų vardai atspindi socialinę ir kultūrinę visuomenės atmosferą, išryškina visuomenėje dominuojančias vertybes. Tai parodė senųjų lietuviškų vardų ir kalendorinių krikštavardžių didelis populiarumas bei mažesnis apeliatyvinių ir neįprastų, vengtinų deminutyvinių vardų paplitimas.

Abstract:
This paper deals with the appearance and development of particular ceramic forms that were prevalent on the wider territory from the lower Danube to the northern shores of the Aegean sea during the middle and Late Bronze Age. These forms relate to globular beakers, pear shaped vessels with everted rims with arch shaped handles, cups with handles with plastic applications on their upper surface, etc. Particular attention is devoted to the phenomenon of globular beakers of the LBA in the valleys of Varder, Mesta and Struma rivers. All information collected primarily through analysis of stylistic-typological characteristics of ceramics of the middle and Late Bronze Age - that took into account ritual burials, layout of settlements, trade routes and climactic conditions during that period - points to population movements from the north to the south already by the LBA, i.e. in 15th century BC. These movements contributed to the creation of particular cultural groups in the LBA in the central Balkans, such as the Brnjica cultural group. However, these movements cannot be clearly linked to the so-called Aegean Migration, and for this reason their character and chronology are subject to debate. Ultimately it can be concluded that beakers of the Zimnicea -Cherkovna-Plovdiv type appeared in the late Bronze Age in the Vlasine depression and the Danube valley through the evolution of beaker forms of cultural groups of earlier periods. Almost contemporaneously, during LBA, a variant of this ceramic form, richly ornamented (mostly with spirals) and similar in manner to the cultural group Dubovac-Zuto Brdo-Grla Mare- Krna, appeared in the LBA culture in northern Greece. Clearly this stylistic mannerism, with spirals as characteristic elements, spread relatively quickly through successive migrations in the period of 15th-14th century BC, toward the south of the Balkan Peninsula, thus covering the wider territory from the southern tip of the Carpathian mountains down to the northern shores of the Aegean Sea. Participants in those migrations are in fact representatives of cultural groups that were created in the northern Balkan Peninsula during the 16th and 15th centuries BC through the breakdown of Vatic culture. As the result of pressures from the north and north-west they headed south, contributing to the creation and development of cultural groups on the territory of the central Balkans. The final destination of the migrations were the valleys of the Mesta, Struma and Vardar rivers where, starting in the 15th century BC, a noticeable foreign cultural influence can be felt that became most pronounced during 14th century BC.

Magistro darbo objektas — angliškas Lietuvos vardas Lithuania. Darbo tikslas — identifikuoti valstybės vardo keitimo prielaidas įvertinant jų pagrįstumą angliško Lietuvos vardo atveju. Pagrindiniai darbo uždaviniai: apibrėžti prekės vardo koncepciją bei naudą įmonei; aptarti prekės vardo keitimo prielaidas ir riziką; remiantis aptartomis prekės vardo keitimo prielaidomis išskirti prielaidas, skatinančias valstybės vardo keitimą; išanalizuoti riziką, kurią gali sukelti valstybės vardo keitimas; įvertinti prielaidų, skatinančių valstybės vardo keitimą, pagrįstumą pasirinktu atveju. Darbe naudojantis keliais tyrimo metodais: dokumentų analize, anglų kalbos ekspertų interviu bei įvaizdžio ekspertų interviu, prieita prie išvados, kad angliško Lietuvos vardo Lithuania keitimo idėja yra nepagrįsta. Nors nustatyta, kad vardas Lithuania yra sunkiai komunikacijoje pritaikomas žodis, tačiau nerasta jokių duomenų ir tyrimų, kurie įrodytų, kad dabartinis angliškas Lietuvos vardo variantas yra nepriimtinas tikslinei jo auditorijai. Be to, angliškas vardas Lithuania tik iš dalies prisideda prie mūsų šalies įvaizdžio formavimo, todėl vien jo pakeitimas nepadėtų suformuoti mūsų šalies įvaizdžio. Tyrimo metu taip pat nustatyta, kad angliško Lietuvos vardo keitimas mūsų šaliai gali būti rizikingas procesas. Keisdama savo anglišką vardą Lietuva gali susidurti su finansinėmis, dokumentų bei žodynų keitimo problemomis. Naujam angliškam mūsų šalies vardui gali prieštarauti kitos pasaulio valstybės... The object of the work is the English name of Lithuania. The aim of the work is to identify the assumptions of the state name change in the society and to evaluate their legitimacy. The objectives of the work. In order to meet the set aim, the author raises the following objectives: to determine the concept of the brand name and its benefit for an enterprise; to discuss the assumptions and the risks of the change of the brand name; on the basis of analyzed assumptions of the brand name change, identify the assumptions of motivating the change of the state name; to analyze the risk which can be caused by changing the state name; to evaluate the legitimacy of assumptions stimulating the change of the state name in the concrete case. Academic topicality of the work. Lithuania chose the image forming strategy in 2008. The basic idea of the strategy was the slogan „Lithuania – the brave country“. This slogan was suggested by the commission responsible for the formation of Lithuania’s image. But the concept of Lithuania as the brave country wasn‘t the only one idea which was suggested by that commission. One of the members of the board, Paulius Senūta, also suggested the idea, that before implementing the new strategy of image formation Lithuania should think about the possibility to change the English word Lithuania. Šio darbo pagrindinis tikslas buvo išsiaiškinti, ar galimas toks atvejis, kad tėvų teisė parinkti vaiko vardą būtų ribojama. Atlikus analizę, buvo nustatyta, kad esama tokių atvejų, kai tėvai parinkdami vardus savo vaikams elgiasi neatsakingai ir neapgalvotai, taip pažeisdami vaiko interesus. Darbe buvo išsiaiškintos vaiko ir vardo sąvokos, apžvelgiant tiek bendrinį, tiek teisinį apibėžimus. Pabrėžtina, kad vardo sąvoka darbe buvo naudojama siaurąją prasme. Buvo keliamas ir teisės į vardą bei privatumo santykio klausimas, išskiriant, kad vaiko vardas yra jo tapatybės sudėtinė dalis, Buvo padaryta išvada, kad vaiko teisė į vardą yra glaudžiai susijusi su kitomis vaiko teisėmis, tarp tokių buvo minima vaiko teisė į individualybės išsaugojimą, teisė į sveiką vystymąsi, orumo užtikrinimą ir nediskriminaciją. Pasiremiant psichologų atliktais tyrimų duomenis, buvo atkreipiamas dėmesys, kad asmens vardas yra gerokai daugiau nei skiriamasis ženklas, padedantis atskirti vienus žmones nuo kitų. Buvo pastebėta, kad vardo įtaką vaiko gyvenime yra matoma nuo tada, kai tik jis pradeda suprasti savo vardo skambesio prasmę. Darbe buvo iškeltas klausimas ar teisės į vardą ribojimas nepažeistų tėvų interesų, žvelgiant iš privataus šeimos gyvenimo perspektyvos. Tačiau buvo nustatyta, kad tai, jog valstybėje yra tam tikras teisinis reguliavimas dėl vardų registravimo tvarkos, dar nereiškia jog taip savaime pažeidžiama šeimos teisė į privatumą. The aim of this thesis is to investigate whether the parents’ right to choose a child’s name can be restricted. The subject is relevant and this is justified by reviews of legal regulations and case law of different countries. The analysis shows that there are some cases when parents irresponsibly choose names for their children, thus violating child’s interests. In order to answer this problematic question, it is important to clarify the concepts of a child and a name considering both general and legal definitions. In this paper, a child is a special entity for whose proper fulfillment of rights a special protection is provided. The thesis also assesses the functions of legal regulations taking into account whether the legal norms that regulate name registration process means that the country ensures and respects child’s rights. It is emphasized that the concept of name is used in its narrow sense, excluding last name and nickname. Moreover, another relevant question of the thesis is the right to the name and privacy relation. It is emphasized that child’s name is the component of identity, therefore both child’s parents and the country have to ensure that child’s identity and relation with the family are preserved. This aspect is investigated referring to both European Court of Human Rights and judicial judgments of other countries. Le tryptique ville - mondialisation - migration est mis en perspective dans la thèse à partir d'un poste d'observation situé au Sud : la ville de Bangalore, la cinquième ville de l'Inde par la population, largement présentée comme la « Silicon Valley indienne ». L'objet d'analyse est le phénomène de migration de retour de migrants indiens très qualifiés, salariés du secteur des hautes et des nouvelles technologies, revenant majoritairement des Etats-Unis à Bangalore. La recherche articule géographie des migrations et géographie urbaine dans une démarche compréhensive qui permet d'appréhender les pratiques de l'espace et les significations qui leur sont attachées, ainsi que les échelles collective et individuelle du fait migratoire. Elle interroge ainsi une notion et une catégorie importantes de la géographie des migrations : la migration de retour et les migrants très qualifiés. La thèse montre que le retour s'insère dans les évolutions de la dynamique technopolitaine qui caractérise Bangalore. Elle souligne la pertinence de la notion de migration de retour comme catégorie analytique du projet migratoire des acteurs, comme processus et comme moment de trajectoires migratoires de plus en plus transnationales. Par ailleurs le rôle joué par les migrants dans la fabrique métropolitaine et technopolitaine est mis en évidence par l'étude de leurs pratiques résidentielles, en particulier pour le développement d'un urbanisme d'enclave. The articulation between globalization, migration and urbanization is addressed from a vantage point located in a developing country : the city of Bangalore, fifth city by population of India, which is known also as the ''Silicon Valley of India''. The selected way to assess it has been to focus on the reverse migration flow of high-skilled Indian migrants, coming back from the USA mainly, specifically to Bangalore. This research stands at the intersection of migration studies and urban studies. It proposes a comprehensive approach in order to comprehend the spatial practices as well as their meanings, at both the individual scale and the collective scale. It addresses two important notions in migration studies : return migration and high(ly) skilled migration. This reverse brain drain contributes to the technopolitan dynamic which a salient feature of Bangalore. This study reinforces the relevance of the concept of return migration by analyzing the return migration as a project, as an open-ended-process and a stage in the realm of increasingly transnational life patterns. The thesis addresses also the way these ''returnees'' reinsert themselves in the urban fabric, contributing to some typical trends of the metropolis and technopolis-in-the making such as the development of enclave urbanism, by studying their residential practices. Abstract:
Nyckelbegrepp i VARVET är Siktlinjer och Rörelse. Varvets storlek och placering i staden gör byggnaden synlig från olika platser runt Beckholmen. Byggnaden upplevs från olika vinklar och på olika avstånd. Denna visuella kommunikation har använts för att forma Varvets utseende genom att de olika verkstäderna vrider sig i olika riktningar och varierade siktlinjer uppstår. Den rörelse som finns i varvsverksamheten görs synlig genom ett band av glasbetong i de fasader som vinklas utåt. I höjd med dessa öppningar rör sig traversbalkar fram och tillbaka och i varje fönsterband finns en platt, slipad polykarbonatlins som skapar ett vidvinkelperspektiv in i byggnaden. På olika avstånd ges olika diffusa förnimmelser av verksamheten som pågår i Varvet. Varvsbyggnadens fragmenterade plan skapar spännande interiöra och exteriöra rum och sekvenser att röra sig genom. Mellan skrovhallen och de mindre verkstäderna uppstår två ljuskorridorer i glasade lågdelar. Dessa korridorer möjliggör ett indirekt dagsljus till verkstäderna men skapar också en genväg mellan verkstäder där inte skrovhallen behöver passeras.
The Yard has two main themes, Lines of sight and Movement. The placement and size of The Yard make the building visible from many places around Beckholmen. It is viewable from different angels and distances. This visual communication has formed The Yard by twisting different workshops in different angels to create lines of sight from places around Beckholmen. The existing movement of the shipyard activity is made visible through lines of glass concrete in each facade directed outwards. At the height of these openings, traverse girders are moving along the facade. In each line of glass concrete, a fresnel lens gives a wide angle perspective view into the workshop. Diffuse perceptions of the ongoing activity are being offered at different distances. The fragmented plan is generating exciting interior and exterior spaces and sequences of movement. Between the hull hall and the smaller workshops two light corridors give indirect daylight into the workshops. The corridors also work as shortcuts between the workshops, thus passing through the hull hall is avoided.

Abstract:
Syftet med examensarbetet var att undersöka hur pedagoger arbetar med att låta eleverna upptäcka och uppleva historia som en del av historieundervisningen. Samtidigt som underökningen tar upp vidareutbildningsmöjligheterna inom So/historia för de berörda pedagogerna på skolan. Teorin är baserad på att eleven kan skap djupare band till historia genom att uppleva och upptäcka historia på plats och på ett mer praktiskt sätt. Metoden består av kvalitativa intervjuer som har blivit transkriberade och en skriftlig intervju. De som blivit intervjuade är pedagoger som arbetar med årskurserna 1-3 och 4-6 och som har So som sitt undervisningsämne. Alla intervjuer har sin grund i ett färdigställt intervjuformulär. Resultatet av dessa visar på en varierad undervisning som börjar med ett praktiskt och undersökande arbetsätt i årskurserna 1-3 och slutar med att i årskurserna 4-6 blir mer teoretisk och undervisningen stannar i klassrummet. Samtidigt kommer det fram att det inte finns någon vidareutbildning för skolans pedagoger inom Soämnena. Trots att samtliga pedagoger uppger att de behöver mera stöd i sin undervisning.
The aim of the thesis was to investigate how teachers work to let students discover and experience history as part of the teaching of history. While the study raises further training opportunities in SE / history of the affected teachers at the school. The theory is based on the student to knowledge deeper ties to history through to experience and discover the history of the place and in a more practical manner. The method consists of qualitative interviews have been transcribed and a written interview. Those who have been interviewed are educators who work with grades 1-3 and 4-6 and having SE as their teaching subject. All interviews are based on a completed interview forms. The result of these shows a varied education that begins with a practical and exploratory way of working in grades 1-3 and end up in grades 4-6 will be more theoretical and teaching stays in the classroom. Meanwhile, it emerged that there is no training for school teachers in the So-topics. Although all the teachers say they need more support in their teaching.

Šiame magistro baigiamajame darbe analizuojamas užsieniečių pavardžių rašymas ir ES teisės įtaka. Nagrinėjama vardo samprata, jo funkcijos ir ypatybės. Aptariama vardo vieta kalbos sistemoje, kuri dažnai tampa ginčų objektu, siekiant priimti teisės aktus užsieniečių pavardžių rašymo srityje. Taip pat skiriamas didelis dėmesys teisės į vardą analizei. Siekiant išsiaiškinti pavardžių reglamentavimo ypatumus, pateikiama tarptautinių, ES ir nacionalinių teisės aktų analizė. Taip pat darbe analizuojama ESTT ir EŽTT praktika, susijusi su pavardėmis. Ypatingas dėmesys skiriamas visai neseniai ESTT nagrinėtoms Sayn-Wittgenstein ir Runevič-Vardyn byloms, kurios doktrinoje dar neanalizuotos. Daroma išvada, kad ES lygmeniu reikalingas teisės aktas, kuris išspręstų pavardžių rašymo priimančiojoje valstybėje narėje problemas, kadangi nacionalinio reglamentavimo skirtumai šioje srityje gali lemti ES piliečiams garantuojamų laisvių ir teisių pažeidimus.
This master thesis focuses on writing foreigners’ surnames and the influence of European Union (EU) law. It analyses the concept, functions and features of name and discusses the place of name within the language system that often becomes a subject of dispute especially when a necessity of legal act in a field of foreigners’ surnames arises. Special attention is paid to analyze the right to name. In order to find out the main features of regulation of surnames, analysis of international, EU and national regulation is provided. This thesis analyses a case-law of the Court of Justice of the European Union (CJEU) and the European Court of Human Rights (ECtHR) in a field of surnames. Particular attention is paid to cases Sayn-Wittgenstein and Runevič-Vardyn recently examined by the CJEU that are not analyzed in the doctrine yet. The main conclusion of this thesis is that there is necessary to adopt legislation at the EU level that would be able to resolve problems of writing foreigners’' surnames in the host member state, because existing differences in this sphere can lead to violations of main freedoms and rights granted to EU citizens.

By presenting relationships for spatially varied flow with combined increasing and decreasing discharge, and relating those relationships to prior work, a clearer exposition of spatially varied flow concepts is provided. The applicability and usefulness of energy (First Law of Thermodynamics) and momentum (Newton’s Second Law) principles to spatially varied flows are addressed. The history of the debate initiated in the nineteenth century over the role of the First Law of Thermodynamics in general and hydrodynamics specifically is discussed, related to current issues regarding spatially varied flows, and hopefully resolved in the context of such flows and more generally.
