Accurate perception and production of auditory rhythms are key for human behaviors such as speech and music. Auditory rhythms in music range in their complexity: complex rhythms (based on non-integer ratios between successive tone durations) are more difficult to perceive and produce than simple rhythms (based on integer ratios). The physiological activity supporting this behavioral difference is not well understood. In a within-subjects design, we addressed how rhythm complexity affects cardiac dynamics during auditory perception and production. Musically trained adults listened to and synchr

Abstract Sudden cardiac arrest/death (SCA/SCD) is a disease that the heart cannot pump the blood effectively, so the blood flow loses rapidly. The patient may lose consciousness in an hour without appropriate treatment, and may take the patient’s life within minutes. Heart Rate Variability (HRV) is an electrocardiography (ECG) that uses QRS wave detection to calculate the R wave interval (R-R Interval, RRI), and uses the R wave interval to extract the time domain, frequency domain, and nonlinear characteristics of the heart rhythm. Abstract:
Review question / Objective: The reversibility of HRV abnormalities in hyperthyroidism remains contradictory. The purpose of the study is to conduct a systematic review and meta-analysis on the effect of antithyroid treatments on HRV in hyperthyroidism. Population: Untreated hyperthyroid patients Intervention: Antithyroid treatment Control: Controls without hyperthyroidism Outcomes: Reversibility of heart rate variability abnormalities in hyperthyroidism Study design: Systematic review. Information sources: All studies that addressed the effect of hyperthyroidism treatment on HRV were reviewed
