Abstract:
Purpose This study investigated the impact of the variant angulations on the values and distribution of wall shear stress on the renal branches and the mating vessels of a pivotal fenestrated design. Methods An idealized endograft model of two renal branches was computationally reconstructed with variable angulations of the left renal branch. These ranged from the 1:30' to 3:30' o'clock position, corresponding from 45° to 105° with increments of 15°. A fluid-structure-interaction analysis was performed to estimate the wall shear stress. Results The proximal part of the renal branch preserved q

The authors present the case of a 78-year-old man who presented with a subarachnoid hemorrhage due to rupture of an aneurysm at the origin of the persistent primitive olfactory artery (PPOA). Interestingly, the PPOA was originating from the A1 segment of the anterior cerebral artery and coursed anteromedially along the olfactory tract. Moreover, the PPOA in this case had 2 branches: the branch making a hairpin turn and supplying the distal part of the anterior cerebral artery territory (Type 1), and the branch extending to the cribriform plate to supply the nasal cavity (Type 2). A growing world population means that demand for wood-based materials such as particleboard is constantly increasing. In recent years, wood prices have reached record highs, so a good alternative can be the utilization of branches, which can reduce the cost of raw materials for particleboard production. The goal of the study was to confirm the feasibility of using an alternative raw material in the form of Pinus sylvestris L. pine branches for the production of three-layer particleboard. Characterization of the alternative raw material was also carried out, and the bulk density was determined.

AbstractMedian nerve anatomy is of great interest to clinicians and scientists given the importance of this nerve and its association with diseases. A rare anatomical variant of the median nerve in the distal forearm and wrist was discovered during a cadaveric dissection. The median nerve was deep to the flexor digitorum superficialis (FDS) in the carpal tunnel. It underwent a 360-degree spin before emerging at the lateral edge of FDS. The recurrent motor branch moved from medial to lateral on the deep surface of the median nerve, as it approached the distal carpal tunnel. This variant doesn't

To improve the growth and development of industrial crops, various physical methods of external factors influence on seeds before sowing are widely used. The work shows that pre-sowing treatment of wheat seeds by barrier discharge at atmospheric pressure improves the realization of genetic information, and contributes to the enhancement of physical and biochemical processes. At the initial stages of seed germination, the study found that treatment of wheat seeds with barrier discharge primarily affects the germination energy and overall germination. In this regard, we investigated the effect o

Classical xanthinuria is a rare autosomal recessive metabolic disorder caused by variants in the XDH (type I) or MOCOS (type II) genes. Thirteen Israeli kindred (five Jewish and eight Arab) and two isolated cases from Germany were studied between the years 1997 and 2013. Four and a branch of a fifth of these families were previously described. Here, we reported the demographic, clinical, molecular and biochemical characterizations of the remaining cases. Seven out of 20 affected individuals (35%) presented with xanthinuria-related symptoms of varied severity. Among the 10 distinct variants ide
