Head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (HNSCC) is the 6th most common cancer worldwide and poses a significant health burden due to its rising incidence. PTTG and PBF cause transformation in vitro and tumour formation in vivo, both effects thought to be partly mediated by their interactions with the tumour suppressor protein p53. Abstract:
No
Development of therapeutic strategies for tumor-selective delivery of therapeutics through exploitation of the proteolytic tumor phenotype has significant scope for improvement of cancer treatment. ICT2588 is a peptide-conjugated prodrug of the vascular disrupting agent (VDA) azademethylcolchicine developed to be selectively hydrolyzed by matrix metalloproteinase-14 (MMP-14) within the tumor. In this report, we extend our previous proof-of-concept studies and demonstrate the therapeutic potential of this agent against models of human colorectal, lung, breast, and prostate cancer. In all

Abstract:
Maintenance of tumor vasculature integrity is indispensable for tumor growth and thus affects tumor progression. Previous studies have identified platelets as major regulators of tumor vascular integrity, as their depletion selectively renders tumor vessels highly permeable, causing massive intratumoral hemorrhage. While these results establish platelets as potential targets for anti-tumor therapy, depletion is not a treatment option due to the essential role of platelets for hemostasis. This thesis demonstrates for the first time that functional inhibition of glycoprotein (GP) VI on the plate

Abstract:

Worldwide, head and neck squamous cell cancers (HNSCC) account for over 375,000 deaths annually. The majority of these cancers arise in the outermost squamous cells which progress through a series of precancerous changes before developing into invasive HNSCC. It is widely accepted that prognosis is strongly correlated to the stage of diagnosis, with early detection more than doubling the patient’s chance of survival. Currently, however, 60% of HNSCCs are diagnosed when they have already progressed to stage 3 or stage 4 disease. The current diagnostic method of visual examination often fails
