This dissertation examines the iconographical motif of the Apollonian triad in Attic art of the sixth and fifth centuries BC. Attic vase paintings constitute the chief evidence for this study, but other evidence, such as inscriptions, literary sources, sculptures and coins is considered, as well. These scenes showed groups of women making themselves desirable and for the first time women were eroticised within the context of marriage. Some scholars have argued that this sudden abundance reflected a change in the Attic attitude towards women, reflecting their increased social standing. These scholars proposed various hypotheses. The aim of this dissertation was to investigate the representation of specific types of animals as they occurred in Homer and archaic Attic black figure vase painting with a view to understanding bow they were most likely perceived in antiquity. Sanyu's sculptures in color choices, painting styles, and the selections of flowers and bottles are all fitted in with Chinese characteristics. The purpose of this thesis is to study Sanyu’s (1901－1966)paintings and analyze the Chinese national features from them. Sanyu lived in the time of the culture fusion between Chinese and the West.
