Abstract:
The present study examined the effect of an angiotensin II AT1 or AT2 receptor antagonist on the impairment of the pressure diuresis and natriuresis response produced by nitric oxide (NO) synthesis blockade. N ω-nitro-l-arginine methyl ester (l-NAME, 37 nmol ⋅ kg−1 ⋅ min−1) lowered renal blood flow and reduced the slopes of the pressure diuresis and natriuresis responses by 44 and 40%, respectively. Blockade of AT1 receptors with valsartan increased slightly sodium and water excretion at low renal perfusion pressure (RPP). Blockade of AT2 receptors with PD-123319 had no effect on renal functio

Abstract:
A low intake of calcium leads to an increase in high blood pressure by stimulating the release of paratiroid and renin hormones that lead to increase in intracellular calcium concentration in the vasculer smooth muscle cells and result in vasocontriction. This study aims to determine the influence of compliance to supply modified calcium tablet toward calcium level and blood pressure in pregnant mothers. This research was conducted at RSIA Sitti Khadijah I Maternity Hospital Makassar with research design of quasy experiment with prepost test group control design. There were 30 pregnant mother

Abstract:
Preeclampsia as a pregnancy complication was still a direct cause of maternal death, especially in developing countries. The process of abnormal trophoblast invasion as a pathophysiology of preeclampsia would cause an ischemic environment in the placenta. This situation caused the placenta to release pro-inflammatory cytokines and anti-angiogenic factors into the maternal circulation, resulting in the vasocontriction of blood vessels, endothelial dysfunction in the vasculature of maternal organs, and the production of different clinical features depending on the organs affected. Abstract:
Despite major advances in conventional medical therapy, patients with heart failure continue to experience significant morbidity and mortality. Endothelin-1 (ET-1) is a potent vasocontrictor and mitogenic peptide that is activated in heart failure. There is increasing experimental and clinical evidence in support of an important role of ET-1 in the pathophysiology of heart failure. Manipulation of the activity of ET-1, especially using endothelin receptor blockers, has allowed for the further elucidation of the role of this neurohormonal system and development of novel therapeutic strategies i

Abstract:

Abstract:
In cardiology, there are different conditions associated with the release of free radicals in some forms of hypoxia, such as ventilatory hypoxia or reduced perfusion. The role of free radicals during hypoxia in cardiology is the key point of our interest. In presented thesis, we have focused on hypoxia-induced pulmonary vasoconstriction and acute myocardial ischemia. Hypoxic pulmonary vasoconstriction (HPV), an important physiological mechanism, is regulated by changes in the production of and interactions among reactive oxygen species (ROS). There is controversy, however, over whether HPV is
