The Second Vatican Council is recognised by the Roman Catholic Church as the twenty-first ecumenical council. This essay argues that the Second Vatican Council, with its characteristic aggiornamento, and the two Special Assemblies for Africa of the Synod of Bishops, have from their incipience indicated the change that would be witnessed within the structures of theological and moral discourses of the future.In a specific manner, the paper aims to show how the contemporary construction of morality online, globally but particularly in Africa, could almost be seen as a prophetic insight already indicated by the vision of the Second Vatican Council and its two Special Assemblies for Africa.
