Abstract:

The objective of this study was to describe the diet of young-of-the-year and adult alewife (Alosa pseudoharengus) and rainbow smelt (Osmerus mordax) in nearshore waters coincident with the colonization of Lake Ontario by Dreissena. Laboratory experiments and field observations indicated that alewife and rainbow smelt consumed dreissenid veligers and that the veligers remained intact and identifiable in the digestive tract for several hours. The eastern oyster Crassostrea virginica is an ecologically and economically important species that is vulnerable to oil pollution. We assessed sublethal effects of soluble fractions of crude oil alone (WAF) and crude oil in combination with Corexit 9500 dispersant (CEWAF) on oysters at three life history stages. Abstract:

Covid-19 salgınının günlük yaşantımıza etkileri halihazırda devam ederken tüm dünyada olduğu gibi Türkiye’de de sosyal ve ekonomik saikler okulların açılmasını adeta bir zorunluluk haline getirmiştir. Türkiye’de okullar yüz yüze eğitim için yeni eğitim öğretim yılına hazırlıklarını tamamlamaya çalışmaktadır. Salgının yayılımı açısından en kritik kamusal alanlardan biri olan okullarda sürecin nasıl yürütüleceği ve okullar açıkken salgının ne derece kontrol altında tutulabileceği konusu toplumun her kesiminde merak ve endişe uyandırmaktadır.
