Abstract Human being's existence is closely related to communication, how the individual interacts and interacts with others. By communicating, an individual conveys information and interests, attitudes, values, beliefs and feelings, sharing them with others, thus creating a contexture of relationships. Communication means not only speaking, writing, but also silencing, listening or acting. Both the patient and the physiotherapist communicate verbally, non-verbal and paraverbal to respond to and understand the behavior of the communication partner. In addition to professional skills, acquiring communication skills by physiotherapist can lead to patient adherence and satisfaction to the therapeutic program. Aim: In this paper, we aim to highlight the important aspects of the verbal, non-verbal and paraverbal skills of the physical therapist to promote communication with the patient in the therapeutic relationship. Methods: Literature review was the method of this study and were considered eligible only articles with statistically significant data. Results: Verbal communication essentially validates the message transmitted, non-verbal skills confirm and at the same time strongly influence communication partners. By form, paraverbal and non-verbal communication are concurrent with the verbal, respectively confirming it, but by content and interpretation, they can give other meanings to the relationship.

Abstract:
The article presents the results of the study, which relates to the efficacy of speech therapy means and methods for the development of speech and non-verbal communication processes for children with autism.
 A number of researchers' observations show that the range of contact between children with autism is very limited. Mostly these children feel calm and they are relatively manageable only among their extremely close people. The difficulty of selective and original communication contributes to the more isolation of children with autism. The communication difficulties described in the context of not performing early diagnostics work start to be strengthened and deeply rooted in the mental processes of these children. The inability to communicate and the active rejection of any communication contributes to relapsing behaviors whenever there is an attempt to draw any attention and the requirement for a directive ends with a fight.
 Based on the multi-year pedagogical activity in this field, the author presents experimental studies with autistic children. Taking into account the individual features of each child during the two-year training, we have created different play situations to try to make an interest and expand the range of contacts. Initially, we tried to create about 5-10 similar situations during one speech therapy session, and later, when appropriate skill is well-formed, we try to strengthen it in other situations or in the presence of other strangers.

Abstract:
Presbyacusis hearing loss is common in elderly. Patients with presbyacusis may feel neglected by the family and the surrounding environment. It should be takes the right way to communicate with presbyacusis patients, so that communication can be done effectively. This study aims to identify the phenomenon of family communication with presbyacusis patients who stays in one house. Qualitiataive research design was used in this reserch with� phenomenologycal approach. In-depth interviews and observation was used as data collection method. The results of the research found that the family have an understanding about the meaning of communication which is talking alone and talking with others. Family barriers when communicating with presbyacusis patients are difficult to understand what is the family talking about, difficult to talk, disconnected, family feel annoyed and must be patient when communicating. The family communicates with presbyacusis patients using verbal (verbal) communication such as repetition of speech, non-verbal communication (gesture) that is by mouth movement, touching the shoulders, face-to-face when communicating, hand movements. As a conclusion of this research was obtained the understanding of communication, family barriers when communicating with presbiakusis patients, the way families communicate, family reasons using verbal communication (verbal) and non-verbal (cues).Keywords: family communication, presbyacusis, phenomena

Abstract:
Handoffs for neonatal resuscitation involve communicating critical delivery information (CDI). The authors sought to achieve ≥95% communication of CDI during resuscitation team requests. CDI included name of caller, urgency of request, location of delivery, gestation of fetus, status of amniotic fluid, and indication for presence of the resuscitation team. Three interventions were implemented: verbal scripted handoff, Spök text messaging, and Engage text messaging. Percentages of CDI communications were analyzed using statistical process control. Following implementation of Engage, the communication of all CDI, except for indication, was ≥95%; communication of indication occurred 93% of the time. Control limits for most CDI were narrower with Engage, indicating greater reliability of communication compared to the verbal handoff and Spök. Delayed resuscitation team arrival, a countermeasure, was not higher with text messaging compared to verbal handoff ( P = 1.00). Text messaging improved communication during high-risk deliveries, and it may represent an effective tool for other delivery centers.

Therefore, in life must combine the two communications. Like the nazham contained in the al-Munawwaraq embroidery Fil ‘Ilmi Mantiq. Which explains about lafadh and ghairu lafadh both are related to one another. So that both the majority of students and some teachers who study the book sulam al-Munawwaraq Fil ‘Ilmi Mantiq do not know that there is a discussion of communication in the nazham. The phenomenon finally motivated a study entitled "Analysis of Non Verbal Communication Content in the book al-Munawwaraq Fil‘ Ilmi Mantiq". This study is focused only on a nazham found in the book sulam al-Munawwaraq Fil ‘Ilmi Mantiq, the nazham is conducted using the library research method, namely research carried out using literary literature, such as the yellow books, notes, and previous research report. This study yielded several answers, namely non-verbal communication in the book Sulam Al-Munawwaraq is found in the nazham was violated, as well as the value of non-verbal communication in the book sulam al-Munawwaraq Fil ‘Ilmi Mantiq namely in the discussion of ghairu lafdhiyyah. The same is true of non-verbal communication put forward by communication experts. Then it can be concluded that the non-verbal communication contained in the book sulam al-Munawwaraq Fil ‘Ilmi Mantiq is exactly the same as the non-verbal communication stated by communication experts.

The researcher interested to provide views and further investigating the meaning of appearance which is expected to obtain a detailed picture of the meaning of non-verbal sign constructed on the meaning of the appearance by semiotic analysis. For this reason, this study aims at 1) To describe the kinds of non-verbal communications used by the student of English Department in the proposal seminar, and 2) To describe the meanings of the non-verbal communications used by the student of English Department in the proposal seminar. The theory of three basic semiotic elements proposed by Peirce (2003) is used to identify the sign action and also determined better the nature and rhetorical function of both verbal and non-verbal representation. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative. The data of this research are the non-verbal communication of the students from the English department through their Facial Expression, Eye Contacts , Emblems, Adaptors and Body Action. The source of the data obtained one video from the seminar proposal. A semiotic visual image of signs, in the seminar proposal video. There are 7 kinds of non-verbal communication the student showed that obtained and observed by the researcher. The result of this research shows that five types of the non-verbal communications are found in the seminar, i.e. fear, amusement, agony, surprise and disgust. The most dominant type of non-verbal communication is the state of surprise with 2 expressions.

Abstract:
One of the objectives of this research was to determine the level of (linguistic & non-linguistic) communication efficiencies among the kindergarten teachers according to some demographic variables. The researcher used the Descriptive and Correlative Method, also they used observation tool, beside finding the validity, internal consistency and reliability of the tool through Cronbach's Alpha which was (0.92), then a consistency between the observers were found. The tool in its final form Consisted of (28) items. The final sample was (89) lessons observed of kindergarten teachers in Koya city. The results showed that the level of communication efficiencies in general was above average but not up to the required level educationally set at 80%, also the private kindergarten teachers was better comparing with Governmental kindergartens, also differences appeared by the years of service for the benefit of newly teachers. Based on the results the researcher presented several recommendations and suggestions.

Abstract:
The article is devoted to intercultural communication at the level of sounding speech, the parameters of which actively influence the communication situation. When carrying out intercultural communication, it is necessary to be informed about the parameters of sounding foreign language speech in the emotional aspect. Speech parameters can give additional shades or meanings to an utterance, including those opposed to the meaning of the linguistic units that make it up. To express emotional states, each language has a set of national-specific means capable of coloring an utterance regardless of its lexical content. National – specific features of a neutral style of speech determine its emotional perception by native speakers of another language. Differential signs of communicative types of utterances carry important information about the completed or progressive nature of the utterance, which may require the inclusion of lexical means during interpretation. The analysis is carried out at the level of rhythmic parameters and melodic signs (characteristics of the main stressed syllables) on the material of three languages: Russian, German, Spanish. Comparative studies in the communicative aspect are becoming relevant. However, in setting goals, the ignoring of the regularities of the sounding reality continues, which is largely facilitated by the insufficiently developed mechanism for studying this phenomenon. In the situation of intercultural oral communication, the parameters of the sounding speech actively influence the communication situation. This area is little described from the point of view of intercultural dialogue. Experimental data confirm the propositions put forward about the emotional nature of the perception of foreign language speech. At the same time, two aspects can be distinguished: 1. the signs of emotionally colored foreign language speech can be perceived with different, sometimes opposite emotional meanings; 2. violations of the systemic linguistic signs of foreign-sounding speech, primarily the differential signs of intonations responsible for characterizing the communicative types of utterance (completeness, interrogativeness, progrediency), are perceived in an emotional way.

Abstract:
The therapeutic communication is aimed to change the clients' behavior in reaching an optimal awareness. This research aimed to obtain a client perception view about Nursery Therapeutic Communication in Intensive Surgery Care Unit at Hospital Sidenreng Rappang Regency. The kind of research is descriptive with purposive sampling according to inclusive criteria. The variables are verbal and in-verbal communications. Instrument to collect data is questionnaire, whereas the questionnaires are directly fulfilled by the respondents. From the analysis, the researcher found that the 63,5 % of respondents have a good perception toward nursery verbal therapeutic communication and the non-verbal the researcher found that the 85% of respondents have a good perception toward nursery non-verbal terapeutik. The result shows a great clients' perception about nursery therapeutic communications. As for the suggestion, Hospital Sidenreng Rappang Regency shall give a fresh knowledge or seminars to operasional nurses about nursery therapeutic communications in hospital scope.

The research aimed to reveal the effects of verbal communication and non-verbal communication on students’ English achievement of Informatics department of STMIK Bina Patria Magelang, Central Java-Indonesia. The research employed a quantitative approach with survey research.The data was collected by using questionnaire and score of final English test.The data was analyzed by using regression. The results of the research, verbal communication gives a significant positive effect on the students’ English achievement. Non-verbal communication gives a significant positive effect on the students’ English achievement. Both verbal and nonverbal communication together give a significant effect on the students’ achievement. Based on the conclusion of research result which shows the significant role of verbal communication and nonverbal communication in teaching and learning process, teachers need to maintain and develop effective communication in order to successfully transmit learning materials to students. One alternative to developing it is with a combination of the use of verbal and nonverbal communication.

This study aimed to investigate the influence of beauty workers’ verbal and non-verbal communications on customer satisfaction against beauty salon customers. For this, a questionnaire survey was performed against adult men and women, aged 20 or older, living in Jeju Special Self-governing Province, and the results found the following: ‘Provision of information’, ‘empathy’, and ‘kind response’ had a positive effect on ‘service satisfaction’ and ‘revisit intention’ with statistical significance, confirming that verbal communication ability is a critical factor in service satisfaction and revisit intention. Second, for non-verbal communication ability, ‘body language’, ‘appearance language’, ‘auditory language’, and ‘spatial language’ revealed a positive influence on service satisfaction and revisit intention with statistical significance, confirming that non-verbal communication ability is a key element in service satisfaction and revisit intention. In other words, customer satisfaction and revisit intention differ depending on beauty workers’ verbal and non-verbal communication abilities.

The purpose of this study are: firstly, to determine the effect of Picture Exchange Communication System (PECS) on the verbal communication skills of senior high school adolescent with intellectual disability; secondly, to determine the verbal communication apprehension in of senior high school adolescents with intellectual disability before and after PECS treatment; thirdly, to determine the difference verbal communication apprehension of senior high school adolescents with intellectual disability as revealed by sexes. Experimental design for verbal communication skills used Analysis of Covariance with Randomized Completely Block Design (RCBD) based on six phases of pre- and post-test. Senior high school student from class X-XII (n = 13) became sample of this research. Questionnaire used was in the form of the Measure of Elementary Commu-nication Apprehension (MECA) questionnaire while the data analysis used Analysis Cova-riance for verbal communication skill, t-paired test for verbal communication apprehension, and verbal communication apprehension between sex were analyzed by t-test with a 5% level of significance. The results showed that: (1) PECS can improve the verbal communication skills between phases of PECS with the effectiveness as follows: 105.14%, 18.49%, and 43.11%; (2) PECS have not affected the verbal communication apprehension of senior high school adolescents with intellectual disability (tcale = - 0.305 < ttable = - 1.771); and (3) There is no significant differences in verbal communication apprehension of senior high school adolescents with intellectual disability based on sexes (tcale = 0.232 < ttable = 2.342).

Human beings, in their various environments, communicate their ideas, feelings, and life experiences through verbal or non-verbal means. The way people speak, move their bodies, gesticulate, and handle spatial relationships are important to all kinds of interpersonal communication. In most non-verbal communication situations, as experienced in the Nigerian environment during the Covid'19 pandemic, we observed that interlocutors, even in their silent states, use nonlinguistic forms to communicate meanings (through space and body language). This paper examined the imperatives of space and body language during the Covid'19 era. Much of what has occupied the interest of scholarship has been verbal (speaking and writing) rather than non-verbal communication. But the Covid'19 challenges have opened a fresh vista of attention to the other modes of communicating messages to a target audience. This paper wondered how easy and possible it was to employ appropriate multi-modal media of information dissemination targeted at controlling the ugly situation, saving the lives of people, and achieving fidelity of desired action in such a multilingual/cultural environment as Nigeria. This triggered the researchers' selection and evaluation of some of the communications made through space (proxemics), body language (kinesics), and other non-verbal symbolic modes, their imperatives, and challenges during this period. The analysis was anchored on the multimodal theory of discourse which is an approach that takes into account multiple modes of communication and how they interact with one another to produce meaning. The study is qualitative in nature and allows the interpretation of data according to the context of use. It is hoped that the findings of the paper shall not only expose the important place of non-verbal communication but will also add to the corpus of knowledge concerning the dynamics of human communication in general.

Abstract: Communication is very imperative for daily life. Normal people use verbal language for communication while people with disabilities use sign language for communication. Sign language is a way of communicating by using the hand gestures and parts of the body instead of speaking and listening. As not all people are familiar with sign language, there lies a language barrier. There has been much research in this field to remove this barrier. There are mainly 2 ways in which we can convert the sign language into speech or text to close the gap, i.e. , Sensor based technique,and Image processing. In this paper we will have a look at the Image processing technique, for which we will be using the Convolutional Neural Network (CNN). So, we have built a sign detector, which will recognise the sign numbers from 1 to 10. It can be easily extended to recognise other hand gestures including alphabets (A- Z) and expressions. We are creating this model based on Indian Sign Language(ISL). Verbal irony constitutes a rough class of indirect intentional communication involving a complex interaction of language-specific and communication-general phenomena. Conversationalists use verbal irony in conjunction with paralinguistic signals such as speech prosody. Researchers examining acoustic features of speech communication usually focus on how prosodic information relates to the surface structure of utterances, and often ignore prosodic phenomena associated with implied meaning. In the case of verbal irony, there exists some debate concerning how these prosodic features manifest themselves in conversation. A form-function approach can provide a valuable tool for understanding speakers’ varied vocal strategies in this domain. Here I describe several ways conversationalists employ prosodic contrasts, laughter, and other speech characteristics in their attempts to communicate effectively and efficiently. The presented examples, culled from spontaneous conversation recordings, reveal just a small sample of the enormous variation in delivery styles speakers adopt when communicating with ironic language.

Developments in information technology have an impact on librarian non-verbal communication in providing their library services. Many verbal communication is not effective because the communicator does not use non-verbal communication well. It also occurs in STIKES Aisyiyah Yogyakarta , which encourages authors to conduct research deskripstif . Sampling was done randomly , by 10.5 % from 2471 people, which is 260 students. Caputo opinion is used to determine the perceptions of students in non-verbal communication can be shown with five things, namely : 1. Facial expressions and eye contact when communicating , 2. Expressions hand, 3. Expressions position, 4. Voice expression, and 5. Expressions physical appearance. The results showed that students' perceptions of librarian non-verbal communication in STIKES Aisyiyah Yogyakarta is " not good", indicated by the value of 2.98 (scale 1-4), so it needs to be an effort to improve it.

Effective communication creates a positive working environment and thus increases the job performance of the staff. However, the absence of proper communication between the members of an organisation or a company would result in failure to achieve the agreement while working. Therefore, this study aims to investigate how perceptual factors, verbal, and non-verbal communication can be barriers to effective communication in the workplace. A set of questionnaires is used and distributed to workers of various industries in different companies. It consists of five parts: the demographic profile, verbal communication, non-verbal communication, work environment, and organisational values. A total of ninety-four (94) responses are received and recorded. Findings reveal how perceptual, verbal, and non-verbal factors influence the flow of communication in the workplace. Consequently, the findings of this study can help employers and employees to improve communication at all levels for the betterment of the work performance of all workers.
