Lightness is taken into account by different aspects of syntax (word order, extraction, adjunction sites, subcategorisation). Light forms differ from both incorporated and traditional “weak” forms, in the sense that they can be modified or coordinated. We show that lightness is relevant for French word order in the verbal domain. Light forms must be closer to the head (the verb) than other forms.

Adnominals are present in everyday communication and play a relevant role in discourse at all domains within the verbal communicative contexts. However, quite a number of students or second language learners and speakers of the English language tend to manifest deficiency in the use of adnominals in real communication setting. This study is aimed at providing a linguistic description on the use of adnominals in the essays or blog articles in three domains: food, fashion, and travel. The article presents a theoretical and practical analysis of the study of the peculiarities of the development of verbal and logical thinking in younger schoolchildren with intellectual disabilities. It was found that two-thirds of the children of this group (66.67%) showed an average level of its development. When qualitatively characterizing such children, their main characteristics were singled out, in particular: superficial acquisition and transformation of information into unstable knowledge and structures with limited use of speech support under the condition of constant assistance of a

AbstractParkinson’s disease (PD) is characterized by asymmetric motor symptom onset attributed to greater degeneration of dopamine neurons contralateral to the affected side. However, whether motor asymmetries predict cognitive profiles in PD, and to what extent dopamine influences cognition remains controversial. This study evaluated cognitive variability in PD by measuring differential response to dopamine replacement therapy (DRT) based on hemispheric asymmetries. The influence of DRT on cognition was evaluated in mild PD patients (n=36) with left or right motor onset symptoms. All subjects

Deficits in visual-spatial ability can be associated with Parkinson's disease (PD), and there are several possible reasons for these deficits. Dysfunction in frontal–striatal and/or frontal–parietal systems, associated with dopamine deficiency, might disrupt cognitive processes either supporting (e.g., working memory) or subserving visual-spatial computations. The goal of this study was to assess visual–spatial orientation ability in individuals with PD using the Mental Rotations Test (MRT), along with other measures of cognitive function.
