Abstract:
This study aims to assess oculomotor and vestibular endurance by utilizing the Oculomotor and Vestibular Endurance Screening (MoVES) assessment in athletes’ pre-season and post-season and after a suspected head injury to detect impairment. Athletes (N = 311, 19.4 ± 1.3 years) were recruited to perform the following seven tasks: (1) horizontal saccades, (2) vertical saccades, (3) vergence jumps, (4) horizontal vestibular-oculomotor reflex (VOR), (5) vertical VOR, (6) amplitude of accommodation (AoA), and (7) near point of convergence (NPC). At pre-season, the observed number of eye movements in

Abstract:
This article aims to review population-specific ethnicity-based normal values of binocular vision parameters for diagnosing non-strabismic binocular vision anomalies. Method: Search engines Google Scholar, Sci-Hub, and Pubmed were used to search studies published between 1983 to 2021 using keywords such as normative values, binocular vision parameters, non-strabismic binocular vision anomalies, binocular vision, accommodation, and vergence. Results were presented in tabular form based on the site of study, publication year, and methods used for study for comparison. Results: Several studies ha

Aim: To assess the Prevalence and Patterns of Non-Strabismic Binocular Vision Anomalies in Young Adults with Hypermetropia. Methodology: This prospective, cross-sectional study was conducted among 145 hyperopic patients in the age group 18-30 years visiting tertiary eye hospital between Jan 2024 and July 2024. The comprehensive eye examination followed by binocular vision assessment was performed on all the recruited subjects. Diagnosis of non strabismic binocular vision anomalies was made on the basis of normative data and diagnostic criteria mentioned in the Scheiman and Wicks findings. Data

Abstract:
The goal of our study is to explore the impact of screen exposure on vergence components in children. Sixty-eight healthy children (aged from 5.4 to 16 years old) were studied. We recorded vergence components (near point of convergence, heterophoria at far and near distances, fusional amplitudes of convergence and divergence at far and near distances, AC/A ratio). We reported the time spent in front of screens at near and far distance per day. NPC value is 1.87 ± 1.05 cm. Phoria at far is -0.29 ± 0.21 pD. Phoria at near is -3.00 ± 0.45 pD. Fusional amplitudes are as follows: convergence at far

Background: There was a need to document population-expected normative data for parameters of non-strabismic binocular vision (NSBV) as the analysis and diagnosis of binocular vision disorders required comparison of patient’s clinical signs with expected data in their specific population.Aim: This article sought to review and map population-expected continental normative data for visual function parameters for evaluating the functional non-strabismic accommodative and vergence system, as these systems are very relevant to evaluate the comfort of visual system.Method: Search engines – namely, G
